A lot of communication with support who were sort of helpful and went from offering a 25% to a 50% discount on a replacement but they could not ship to Australia. In reality it probably would be cheaper for me to purchase a new identical scale on Amazon Prime with Free Shipping. I don't think so, I will make sure to purchase a locally supported option next time. Withings have good technology & some very expensive equipment but if it is not supported locally it is not worth buying. It was an expensive scale when purchased two and a half years ago and even more expensive now, I will not be purchasing another Withings scale. JB HiFi came to the rescue and gave a full refund for use in the store. I did buy another Withings scale but one with replacement batteries, hopefully this will have a longer life. I have been a JB HiFi customer for some years and when I appealed to them explaining the issues they had no hesitation in resolving the problem. Five stars to JB HiFi.
