Sony ICF-506
SONY AM FM RADIO ICF-506 – Great radio, good reception. Only downfall unable to find replacement antenna as broken,
Great DAB – Received my brand new pocket DAB+ XDRP1DBP. What a brilliant piece of kit. Love the fact it has an inbuilt rechargeable battery which lasts for hours. And great sound form such a small device too. Highly recommended.

Not worth a cent more than $10.00 – I am flabbergasted as to how this radio has attracted so many 5-star ratings on so many platforms. I bought mine at almost half price ($29.00 AUD)… Read more
and thought it was a bargain. Not so, it shares the same commonality of the cheap and nasty ON/OFF switch incorporated into the AM/FM selection one finds in too many portable radios these days. In effect, it's a nasty 4-way switch. Initially, the sound is crisp and appears good.....for 10 minutes. But beware, that initial clear sound is often misleading as in reality, it's a deceptive harshness. After a while the Sony ICPF26 radio becomes tedious and tiring to listen to. I enjoy listening to radio throughout the day and this is one radio I could not listen to for more than 20 minutes before it starts to irritate with its piercing, harsh and tinny sound. The AM frequency is dreadful as station bandwidths are too narrow so difficult to tune. But it doesn't end there as one has to constantly retune to avoid hiss, or station loss. It was also very susceptible to environmental changes so impossible to walk around with as it loses its preset station when close to smart phones, NEON & LED lighting, Computers, etc. Highly sensitive and will easily stop working with even minimal static or electronic inference so definitely not a "pocket" radio that one can walk around with. For the RRP of $49.00 it's way overpriced and not worth one cent more than $10.00. Sony are producing far too many duds these days to claim they are a reputable company.
