The boiling point kettle does exactly what you think it should, it boils the water, it has a nice feel to the appliance, sturdy handle, easy to pour,… Read more

but more importantly, it isn't plastic, the level could be more readable, I miss the ones with the little red ball that floated up and down the water level gauge.

It's about average in terms of boiling speed, but at least its twice as fast as the USA with their inferior voltage supply. Was on sale from $119 to $59, not cheap by any means, so you should expect a couple of years out of it.

However, the lid broke after 9 months of actual use (Christmas Gift).

The staff member at Robins kitchen threw up the old "it has a 12 month warranty" and to refer to the express warranty details in the manual, both Baccarat and Robins had informed me that I'd need a receipt (Although I'd be given a "this time" I don't need a receipt replacement from Baccarat)

I was asked to write this review after their "goodwill" and here we are.

Proof of Purchase is not limited to a physical receipt from the printer at the store. You can indeed use a bank statement, serial number etc, I need only provide evidence of the transaction.

While it does come with a stated warranty of 12 months as per the manual, the manual also states "Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under Australian Consumer Law"

This means that it has to last a reasonable amount of time for the money you paid for it, which is entirely open to interpretation, but its not a difficult argument to make when you can buy a kettle from Target/Kmart for $15 and it also comes with a 12 months express warranty.
