another. The receivers only have a 12-month warranty, but the fans are useless without them. Aeratron were very professional with their advice (which unfortunately didn't work in our case), then offered to sell us new receiver units, but we were reluctant to spend more money replacing a core component that (in our experience) is not reliable.

If you do decide to buy this model of Aeratron fan, ask the retailer for a (minimum) 5 year warranty on the receiver. It appears that a batch of the… Read more
earlier fans were fitted with defective bluetooth receivers and 4 to 5 years seemed to be their service life (mine lasted 4 years & 10 months). I was told that fans made after this date are now made with components 'made to suit the harsh Australian conditions" whatever that means. I am assuming that that is correct and you should find out in the next 5 years if you did purchase one of the "new" units. Unfortunately, my electrician advised that attempting to repair it would be expensive, unreliable, and very likely to fail again. He recommended replacing the fan entirely. I now have no working fan heading into summer and I’m facing the cost of buying a completely new fan.
I’m really disappointed to be in this situation with a fan that was lightly used, only a couple of years old, and even recommended by Choice. I genuinely expected better performance and longevity, particularly owing to the high end price. I would appreciate the manufacturer reaching out to help find a fair solution.
By way of update, Aeratron sent us two replacement receivers and the fans are now back in action. … Read more
