I would never recommend an Abey Schock sink to anyone. 8 months general wear and tear. 90s of stuff goes in a dishwasher and it has started to chip. Definitely not fit for purpose as a sink. Not covered under warranty for chips (or scratches - so what actually is covered by their warranty? Offered 50% off to buy a new sink. It will cost me also… Read more
to get the joiners back out and a plumber. Worst product Ive ever brought and not backed up by the brand.
I wish I had read these reviews – Purchased a Schock sink 12m ago. Looks great but has chipped from simply a plate hitting against it. I have received the same response from the customer service as everybody here and read the warranty which states "Scratching, chipping or discolouration is not covered by the Chambord Ceramic Sink warranty" I would NOT recommend this product and I find their advertising of a 15 year warranty VERY MISLEADING.
Don't waste your money on this rubbish – Just out of warranty period and this sink just suddenly cracked right through one corner and across the bottom. What use is a sink that cracks for no good reason. Steel won't crack. Save your money and buy anything else rather than this rubbish. Installed by our house builder who won't help either. Not good quality sink. 2 cracks, 1 less than 2 years apart. Not covered under warranty Was not happy with customer resolution process. Show details
Wish I read these before buying , stay away Expensive throw away item
Given the price it looks like an unfinished product with a raw edge – The under mount sink seems to be a trimmed down over-mount sink Show details
Stay away— poor quality and customs service – Bought a prepstation sink which turned out to be broken on opening— company refused to replace it as it was bought in 2021 Show details
Very happy so far – We got the sink model N200UW installed in our new kitchen a couple of months ago and love it. It looks beautiful and the troughs are deep. I was concerned how easily they get dirty as everything shows but I give it a wipe down with a sponge and Gumption and it easily dissolves it all. If we have any issues with it in future I will edit this review

Love it – We bought this sink 2 years ago and installed into our newly renovated kitchen - it was the best investment that we made! It has not cracked, chipped or scratched and I have dropped crockery in it. One thing we make sure we don't do is empty/pour boiling hot water in it..... just in case. Show details
Sexy sink – I love this sink. We installed it in Nov 2017. I rang customer service prior to purchasing and they stressed running cold water while draining boiling water from pots in the sink. I have done this with no probs. I have one slight scratch in the sink. I am more gentle with it than my old stainless steel sink although I have dropped a pot, glass,… Read more
plate in it by accident and it has been ok. Aesthetically this sink is beautiful. Smoother than the other black sinks on the market. Makes me happy to be in my kitchen :) I’ve given it a 4/5 as you do need to give it a little TLC in terms of boiling water and avoiding scratching. To clean I just use warm soapy water. The square corners are no issue, they’re rounded inside the sink so no concern.
Handsome and functional sink – We installed a black Schock sink in Dec 2016, so nearly 1yr on it still looks great and no issues. Cleaning is a dream- we don't scrub it or use excessive product, just a wipe down with disinfectant. I was a bit concerned about installing a square sink- the corners are fairly sharp so I was worried about debris getting stuck and sitting there. … Read more
The fall of the bottom of the sink is such that everything drains away beautifully.
I have dropped a glass and a small pot, no cracks. Purchased from WC Bathrooms at Chatswood who assured me they had the best warranty on the market. Hope I never need to use it!

Dents in kitchen sink – I noticed a small but deep dent in my kitchen sink. It’s been installed for less than a year ( I purchased it from Winnings in April 2021 but installed in October) and when I approached Abey they said it was not covered for accidental scratches and dents. I told them I could only suggest it might be from a knife but I really have no idea. They… Read more
offered me a replacement sink at 50% off but that’s all. Unbelievable that it’s clearly not fit for purpose. I will never buy Abey again. I’ve never seen damage to a sink like this before.
Sink cracks and everyone ducks for cover – Don’t buy this sink. It cracks for no obvious reason and then when you try to get it resolved Abey blames the installation and the installer blames the faulty sink. So now we have a new kitchen without a functional sink and have been in that state for 5 months.

Chips very easily – Dropped a small bowl about 5cm which hit edge of sink. Giant chunk taken out of top of sink, bowl perfectly fine... Not covered by warranty. Be very careful buying this sink. Was offered a discount replacement but still have to buy it and pay for plumber to install. Service from Abey was good, but sink is fragile and not really up to standards for a kitchen sink being used everyday. Show details
Extremely Disappointing Purchase – Teacup dropped in new sink from within sink causing deep gouges to sink base. Abey cited scratches not covered by warranty. How will product tolerate everyday usage? Do Not purchase Show details
Chipped within a few months - NO customer service – We purchased this sink after reading all the marketing material on it's strength and durability. Within a few months it had a chip in it though standard everyday use. I called Customer Service and spoke to Sean who was completely unhelpful and said there was 'nothing' that could be done due to the small size of the chip. So no repair facility or… Read more
care for that matter. We have now done two complete house renovations and things do go wrong, but I have never received such poor customer service. I have since emailed the GM and the CEO, to which I haven't even received a response. They do not stand behind their product at all. I wish we had stuck to the hardy stainless steel. We have a brand new 'state of the art' kitchen, with a sink that has a chip in it which apparently can't be fixed. Soo disappointed.
Do not speak to Shawn – Black sink which cracked within 2 years, Abey had gentleman come out to change to another sink. When looking at the sink after plumber left, the sink looked like it was a used product , not brand new, slightly dirty, and the waste basket was too small for the sink not able to keep wastage out or hold water. When calling back Abey customer service,… Read more
spoke to gentleman called Shawn who gave me a lecture about how it must be to do with what food scraps we are putting in , I.e either too big or too small that’s why it’s going through , and food scraps shouldn’t go in sink then hung up on me. Extremely poor customer service.
Crack!! – Sink is 10 months old and has been great re scratches ect... but cracked with hot water from straining veggies. Customer service has been fantastic however replacement sink was faulty and plumber couldn't install...now waiting on number 3! We are rural area and service has been fast and helpful, just disappointed in the quality. Shame as I love the look of this sink but it needs to be functional. Show details
Great sink – Love the Abbey schock. Having tried the Oliveri black granite composite twice, and both were failures, we opted to change to an Abbey instead for our new kitchen. It is a matt black which I prefer, not grey and no 'sparkle' like the others. It's surface is lovely and smooth and very easy to keep clean. We 'dry' it with the sponge most of the time… Read more
and it looks great but once a week I'll go over it with powder cleanser or the like and it gets any little scratches or marks off without damaging the surface. It's deep so little splashes out and I fit my 30 litre soup pot in easily.
There are considerations on care and usage when purchasing ANY granite composite sink, not just Abbey, so you need to be mindful it's not stainless steel and if you are rough with it, it will get damaged, much the same as granite or stone bench tops get damaged if you are rough! If you pour boiling water straight into the sink, it may crack as will any composite sink............
But for someone who has now got her dream kitchen and appliances, my Abbey sink is an absolute delight!
Smoo-oooth! – We wanted a black sink for our kitchen reno, and checked out several. Most appear more grey than black, and are quite rough to the touch. The Abey sink is darker and almost silky smooth in comparison. It looks great; very classy! And it's easier to keep clean than our previous Oliveri stainless steel waste of money. Instructions were followed, so no probs with install. More time will tell, but we're extremely happy with our purchase. Show details
Stay away! – The sink chipped within a few weeks of installation. Then after that it developed a crack when my wife dropped a frypan in it - the height of the drop would have been less than 30cm. Not covered under warranty. Looks lovely but simply not tough enough and the manufacturer does not stand behind their product. We will be replacing it with a stainless steel model using our home and contents insurance. Show details

Excellent service – Purchased a house in 2015 that had been renovated and the kitchen had a schock sink looked beautiful. Recently the sink cracked was very disappointed as not sure as what l would replace the sink with. Sent an email to Abey and explained the problem. Within the week a brand new sink has been delivered. Absolutely brilliant well done Abey Australia. Also want to stress that l have been reassured that there will be no futher issues with the new sink.
Don't recommend – After only 6 weeks our sink has been chipped by the shock glass board accessory, no reasonable force was used. This happened the first time washing the board and before our kitchen Reno's were even completed. Very disappointing. Show details
Loved it want another – Have just moved house. Bought a Schock sink for our old house 5 years ago and absolutely loved it. No problems with cracks or anything else. I alway used a basket or washing up bowl for anything heavy duty which would not go in the dishwasher. Can't wait to get another Schock sink in new home, they look so much smarter than stainless steel. Show details
Cracked sink but excellent Abey service – We too were shocked when the three-quarter bowl of our black sink cracked when it was being filled with water. The sink had been correctly installed and had been used very carefully. We even use a protective mat which is pretty silly for a kitchen sink! I sent in an online warranty claim and was contacted the next working day by Abey. Our claim… Read more
was approved without question and arrangements were made for it to be replaced. I believe the warranty is 10 years. The person they sent to replace it was reluctant to do so for fear of damaging the stone bench top and was worried about removing the dishwasher. After discussion, Abey approved its replacement by our original installer.
Although it was dreadful that a sink which is advertised as offering "exceptional strength and durability" cracked - and we are anxious about the new one - we could not have received better service from Abey. They handled a very stressful situation in the best possible way from beginning to end.
Looks wonderful but not practical for everyday use – Yes I admit I love love the look of this sink but it is not practical for everyday family use. I had my doubts on this when I bought the sink but just couldn't resist the look and feel of the sink. I read the in advance and decided I wouldn't use this sink for washing pans and wouldn't pour boiling water straight into the sink. For 5 months I… Read more
followed these rules but then my dishwasher broke down and for 1 week I used the sink like a proper sink for everyday washing. I thought i was being careful but one week later I found a small crack in the base of the sink. If you want a sink that looks good for rinsing out the wine glasses it is a great choice but for higher volume use I would not recommend this sink.
Cracked sink! – I was told not to put direct hot/boiling water into the sink - I NEVER have and it has STILL cracked!!! Now I'm trying to find out who to speak to as its 2.5 years old. I'm sooooo annoyed!!!
Do not buy this product – We had not been totally happy with this sink from purchase as the plumber couldn't meet Australian regulations with respect to the overflow pipe so we had to have it plugged off. The way he had to do it meant that the regularly had water in the cupboard below. Now the bowl has cracked when draining hot water from pasta. Not good enough by a long… Read more
shot for an expensive supposedly top of the line product. We'll see how we go with the warranty but it's obviously a design problem when a sink can't take hot water (off the boil) without cracking!
Love it! – Excellent, we installed a dark grey sink 8 months ago, it looks very nice with the bench top, it is very easy to clean and the stains are easy to remove.
princess sink – bought white such a pleasure to use i dont mind fussing over it a teeny bit.to prevent grey marks use a mat cut from some drawer foam when washing upheavy pots - the marks wipe off with a little elbow grease and a microfibre cloth anyway. went to becks and got the oversink sliding chopping board best one ive had
Looks great, but it is definately a shock when it shocked us on breaking!! – Terrible, you feel you have to be so careful with this sink thinking it might crack, well last night it did, a bowl fell into it not from high but from like 10 cm and now I have a massive hole in my sink!!!
A statement sink that functions well too! – We bought the white sink and installed it in our new kitchen 8 months ago. It looks fantstic against the white granite benches! While it does mark easily, the marks are easy enough to remove (though the BBQ plates and utensils are now washed in the laundry, just to keep the sink looking new). The bowls are deep and wide, so even te biggest pots… Read more
can be washed easily.
We did have a small issue with one of the plugs, which started to allow water to drain from the sink, but Abey were prompt in sending a new plug.
Wish I had never bought this very expensive sink! – My white sink looked gorgeous in my white bench in my white kitchen. It marks every time you wash saucepans and you have to really scrub to get the marks off. I could have dealt with this if it hadn't chipped within months of normal day to day use. Then when I dropped a glass I ended up with a huge chip. I rang abey and they were rude and… Read more
dismissive. I contacted them again when I got another big chip. They very kindly sent me a cleaning pack! this sink does not live up to its sales pitch.
Has anyone spoken to consumer affairs about this? It seems I’m not alone and these sinks are not fit for purpose, absolute waste of money
