Acer V7 Series V227QA
MPN: ACMV227QA1 review
Cannot do separate HDMI and audio – This monitor seems fine unless you're trying to use both the audio-input socket and the HDMI video port. For some reason, the designers appear to have assumed that if you're using the HDMI port, then you'd be using HDMIs audio capability. card, or just because PC is a bit old), then this monitor is not for you.
Edit, I switched to a different PC, and the monitor would not even show the BIOS screen, saying instead "input not supported". Even my ten year old TV was perfectly happy to display the output from this PC. I did eventually get it to work after fiddling with BIOS settings (with a different monitor connected).
After all that, the sound is the wimpiest possible, with both the PC volume and the monitor volume needing to be turned up to maximum.
This monitor is such a pain - I will never buy another ACER monitor.
