Fabulous when it works – I love the functions & precision of this oven & initially recommended it highly. I use it every day but now really disappointed in the lack of longevity of the parts. The thermostat was replaced 18 months ago & now again the oven is dangerously overheating, & now not working at all & error F5 being displayed, accompanied by an alarming smell of… Read more

electrical burning. According to google this means the control board needs replacing. I installed two AEG ovens when we built 7 years ago, this top of the range model & the basic model. I work as a cook & in all the homes I've owned & rented I have never had so many problems with an oven after spending this amount of money.

Rusty Oven - bad after sales support – I had the oven since I moved in a year ago. The oven is rarely used, everything looks in good maintenance, and I only use baking soda as cleaner (and only 2 times cleaning in a year). Just noticed 3 days ago that the bottom and right side at the back of the oven has some areas where paint is peeling and rusty, especially the area with bolts… Read more

connecting the backside and bottom side. More concern is the metallic paint dust flying around when the oven is on and getting into our food.

I emailed AEG customer care with some photos. They called me back and said that the oven must have been cleaned with abrasive cleaner. It didn't make sense since it's only at the back areas, and also near the oven light (where it is so narrow to reach). If abrasive cleaner was used then the damage would be all over the oven, so the problem must be the product itself.

The customer service then asked the serial number and told me the oven has been 8 years and it was out of warranty. And the final words were: so it's time for shopping the new oven

So disappointing.. AEG should be a trusted brand and the oven is not cheap.

Certainly I will replace the oven for health issues, and certainly not from the same brand.

I won't recommend anyone to buy any products from AEG with bad after sales support.

Could not turn oven off, grill turned on automatically, only had for 8 years – After turning the oven off, the griller automatically turned on and got hotter and hotter and started to smoke. I had to turn the oven off at the circuit breaker. Rang AEG and asked whether this was a common occurrence - lady on the phone had no idea and said that there would be a $145 call out fee + cost of parts. Surely this is a safety issue -… Read more

could have easily started a fire if I had gone out after "turning the oven off". Very disappointed with product and after sales support.

Inferior oven, had it for only 7 years, with minimal use! x – Oven would not turn off or not power down and it was getting hotter and hotter, most likely a faulty thermostat & had to switch off at the circuit breaker. Rang Electrolux informed of a $145 call out fee + parts and labour and no promises of fixing the oven because its regarded as 'OLD'. Terrible aftersales support and service!! Do not buy ELECTROLUX AEG products!!

Love my oven! – I can't believe I'm reading about the same oven. About 7 year old and haven't had any problems; changed a light bulb once; looking to renew the door seal....that's about it. So easy to clean!! Great setting selections.Sorry to hear of others' misfortunes but l have no complaints thus far.

Poor Quality; No Longevity – Have been using this $2500 oven for only 7 years. Am I being reasonable to expect at least 15 years out of this supposedly quality brand? Firstly the fan went closely followed by the board and sensor. Screws holding the fan cover badly corroded. Still waiting for parts. First lot that came were faulty! Try Miele instead!

Rust in the AEG oven – This oven performs well but after 4 1/2 years the inside casing is rusting. AEG (electolux) charged $130 for a service call - to tell me that I must have abused it. It is a pyrolytic oven why would I clean it any other way. Even with a chrge of $130 they couldn't give me a time of the service call or even a window until the morning of the call. Had to take a day off work. Service is appalling cooks well starting to rust after 4 years

rusty – The oven performed as expected,ie .well, until we requested a service call to fix the removable wire side rails which had never sat properly .The Electrolux tech informed us that the whole casing was rusted through and was unfixable. This was a professionally installed oven ,six years old in a dry kitchen. He went on to inform us that this was far… Read more

from unusual in an oven we were led to expect had a life of twenty years.Electrolux showed absolutely no concern with an aggressive "complaints dept"girl shrugging off all responsibility.

We replaced it with a Siemans and ,so far ,are happy.

Until the distributors start to take after sales service seriously Don't buy AEG.

non existant after sales service
