OK but expensive for its life span – Bought new in 2015. Was a good oven and did what you would expect. Lots of settings but you really only use fan forced. Would heat up to temperature really quickly and relatively easy to operate and clean. Racks and slides were all good. But after 5 years, it started dropping the temperature setting back down to 150 degs from where you set it. Was… Read more
told we would need a new control board for $300 so put up with it for a bit. Then it started turning itself on all by itself. Did this 3 or 4 times so I committed to getting rid of it before it burnt the house down, but it stopped working completely. Would not buy one again as it was too expensive. Better off with a $700 Australian made oven if its only going to last 7 years.
Was good until oven door stopped closing properly and we had a run in with the service department – This oven had been good until the last 12 months. It heats up very quickly, holds temperature well and has a good selection of functions. Now the oven door won't stay closed and hot air leaks out so it has to work harder to maintain temperature. I bake bread weekly at high temperature so heat loss is an issue for us. The telescopic runners started… Read more
to fail within 12 months and now fall off regularly - and this was a major selling feature for us.
We are currently having problems with Electrolux/AEG over a failed attempt to repair our dishwasher and therefore we are not prepared to instigate a warranty claim for fear for them setting the debt collectors on us again. They didn't have the dishwasher parts even though we told them what the problem was, they still sent out a service tech and tried to charge us.
The products may be ok but the after sales support is appalling and the the staff are aggressive, disorganised and difficult to deal with.
Advantages
Easy to use, heats up quickly, holds temperature well, telescopic shelf runners
Disadvantages
Door doesn't close properly, telescopic runners fall off, AEG/Electrolux after sales support is atrocious.
I wish I had bought it years ago – Marvellous, well insulated, cooks well, I have no gripes with it. The telescopic runners are a definite plus, cleaning is easy, fittings are able to be removed easily for ease of cleaning. Good selection of functions, cooks pavlova so well.
Disappointed – Too many useless unnecessary functions. Manual confusing. The oven is difficult to clean. Does not just wipe clean after use as stated. Need to use oven cleaner often regardless of the fact that oven had never been used to cook meat. The element drops down at times during cooking even though it has been secured in place as per the manual and checked by a 3rd party.
Extremely dangerous! Do not buy! – On Easter Sunday morning at 1am, my 2 year old AEG BE5013001M oven door exploded, sending glass all over the kitchen. I have not been able to open it as the front glass is shattered into little pieces, which keep dropping off onto the floor. The oven had not been used at all that day and was totally cold when it exploded. I contacted Winning… Read more
Appliances in Taren Point, where I purchased this oven from and they contacted AEG. Two days later I got a call from AEG saying they would only replace the glass that was actually shattered! I told them this was not acceptable under any circumstances and either the whole door or the oven should be replaced as it is dangerous. Having read the previous review, I now feel that the oven should be recalled. I have not heard any more. I will be contacting Consumer Protection for advice. Do not, under any circumstance, buy this oven! It is dangerous!
AEG oven very dangerous! – I paid $1999.00 for this new oven from Harvey Norman and had it installed in my kitchen a year ago. Tonight I heated some frozen fish and had just served the meal and upon closing the AEG BE501300 oven door the outer glazed panel exploded into my face and then covered the floor in front with glass - the metal door frame is also twisted. This oven is dangerous and all should be recalled. I will contact AEG and consumer protection for advice.

Heats up fast, cooks fast, brilliant! – No complaints with this AEG that we had installed in our new house. Started using it 2 months ago, easy to use, preheats the oven in record time (under 10 minutes, 6 or 7 minutes for 180C), roast lamb done to perfection. Great viewing window, easy to see food cooking, telescopic runners are awesome, easy to install & take out for cleaning.
Temperature precision meets excellence – Had this oven for nearly 3 months. Cooked a few good dishes and to our surprise every this get cooked much faster and to whole & well inside cooked. Enjoying the enlarged window to the ease view of all happening with IsoFron cool door which keeps the door always cool to touch. The telescopic shelf runners are amazing! Enjoying it so far with no… Read more
