No backlighting on dials and buttons – For a suposedly high end oven I'm very dissapointed particularly with the ease of use as none of the buttons or dials are backlit. So if your benchtop overhangs the oven, you can't read the dials. My 16 year old AEG oven has well lit dials and display and I'd expect that again. Not something i thought to check. It seems slow to heat up, the soft runners are not really necessary and cooking time seems slower than my old oven. Because I bought 2 ovens, I tried to return 1 ( unopened ) after i realised the problems and AEG would only do this with a 10 % surcharge. Pretty dissspointing customer service. I'll buy a cheap oven with lights next time.
Loved the oven but the plastic door clip broke too easily – Bought this oven 6 months ago and have loved it. It's easy to clean and haven't even needed the pyrolitic function yet. The settings are clear and intuitive and it looks fantastic. It cooks well and have never had food come out over- or under-cooked. But when I removed the door to clean between the glass panels one of the plastic clips at the base of the door snapped. I emailed customer service with photos and was told this part isn't part of their manufacturer's warranty. They said they'd send me a replacement part anyway which was good, but when it arrived it was the top rail instead of the side one. I called customer service this time and the person I spoke with was very helpful. She understood exactly what had happened and arranged for the correct replacement part. She also offered to supply a technician to replace the part if I need to arrange that. I was initially upset with what happened but am much happier now and know I will continue to love using the oven once the door is fixed. I'll probably not remove the oven door very often though, the hinges are very tight and I think it was the spring-back on removal that ended up snapping the plastic rail.
Purchased in for $1,899.
