Disappointing Cooking Results – Whilst, aesthetically this cook top looks great and is a breeze to clean after using, there are some disappointing aspects about it. The centre of my pots heat up well before the outer circle does so I have to place ingredients around edges as the centre gets much hotter (uneven heating). When boiling water for pasta, there is a centre setting… Read more

(P) which bring liquids to boiling point quickly. However sometimes the water over boils and when I turn it down a bit, the boiling process ceases and I then need to put it back to the P setting to start the boiling process again. Any water spilleage from the pots immediately switches off the elements. I find this annoying and frustrating as I then have to completely dry the surface in order to restart my cooking. Also it appears that all four elements are the same size and don't cater for my large pots. This is why the centre reaches required temperature much earlier than the outer edge. When I asked a sakesperson whether one element was larger, he says it would be but my pots tell me otherwise. I will continue using this cooktop until I can afford to change it, but I definitely won't be replacing it with another induction. Maybe I was sold a lemon, but I can't recommend this cooktop judging from my experience, and I have been cooking for over 44 years.

Elegant and easy to use – We have been using the AEG cooktop for three months now. We were attracted to AEG brand as we like their power tools. We like the cooktop as it is a completely blank black top when off so it looks elegant. We haven't used induction before and are complete converts. It is so easy to use. Heats rapidly and heat can be turned down very quickly. It… Read more

has been great for jams and chutneys as the temp can be super low which stops sticking and burning. I've also found my white sauce much easier to make - no lumps - not sure why! When cooking with induction, if it spills over you can lift the pot and clean underneath immediately if you want. You can set a timer on the cooktop which has been handy. It is very easy to clean - just a damp cloth and dishwashing liquid. We are very happy with this cooktop.
