AEG washer dryer - Dryer performance fix (how to) – Bought in 2018. Machine washed and dried fantastically for over a year. However dryer performance declined miserably after the second year. the towels were obviously very large... what a waste of time. So I did some research and discovered that the units tend to collect a ball of fluff behind the filter unit which progressively grows and restricts the airflow to the filter. The problem is that the ball can't be seen unless you pull the machine apart.
My fix was to use a very long flexible attachment on a vacuum cleaner to remove the fluff ball. The attachment needs to be able to bend down the back tube behind the air filter.
Machine is now functioning perfectly again and every few months I give it another clean out to keep it functioning.
Machine would get 5 stars if it could be maintenance as per the manual.
Don't bother – Have been searching for an answer since purchasing for $3200 2 years ago. Clothes washer? Yes, and does a good job. But drying I have to admit after using it for two years; AEG it's not me, it's you. I've read manuals, watched videos, scoured the web for instructions and reviews. I'll be honest I wish the thing broke so I could claim the warranty and buy something that does the job.
Tonight I'm searching online to buy a clothes dryer that can sit beside my very expensive AEG combo washer dryer. So that my child's clothes can be dried at home instead of having to make the trek to our local laundromat.
Avoid this machine – Washes clothes ok but the dryer is a complete fail, takes up to 8 hours and clothes are still damp that is of course if the machine doesn't fail with a check drain filter error. Show details

AEG 9Kg Washer / Dryer Combo 9kg/5Kg Heat – Had it 2 years hate it!! This was the worst investment ever! Over $3,000 for state of the art. It takes forever to wash, forever to dry, half the time if does not fill and after 3 hours clothes are still bone dry and have to start again. Do not buy. Clothes always come our tangled and crushed. open the cover flood the whole floor. Had the technician here about the drain filter and the only advice they had was to keep on checking it. Finally after such a long period of suffering we decided to buy a cheap dryer, and it performs circles around this expensive machine. I would not recommend this machine to anyone unless they are ok with doing a bundle of clothes once every 12hrs.

at the moment the towels have been washing for 2 hours and haven’t even finished the cycle and is showing another 3 hours to dry!!
Unless there is an issue here i would NOT recommend this machine especially for what its worth. Am waiting to hear back from AEG but i am hoping it is faulty rather then being stuck with this machine.

Not happy – I stupidly invested a lot of money with AEG washer and seperate dryer Can I hear my self write this over the sound and long time it takes for my clothes to dry, so disappointed I called AEG and the customer service people hotline said it takes longer to dry clothes because it’s gentle on the clothes and afterwords just shake and hang in line!!! … Read more

worth it. Because it's a combo, I save space in the house, rather than buying a washing machine and dryer separately. It is not too noisy and has /clock time on it, as well as how long it would take to do a wash. Has 3 different areas you can chose from: just do your washing only; do washing and drying option; or just to dry your clothes. One bad point is if you chose to wash and dry your clothes combo option, than it takes most of the day for it to finish.
