Good cheap steam cleaner I've n]been waiting to get – I got a Lumina at a second hand shop and is working great. I didn't want to waste money on a new one if they turned out to be useless. One fill up lasts for ages and I have used it in tricky to clean corners and around car engine bay and under my motorhome to clean off a couple of decades of grease build up. It's not magic but it helps a lot. If it fails, well it only cost 8 bucks. Show details
Did you read the instructions? – Mine is ok bought it second hand at an op shop. One of the first things I had to do was descale the steamer with vinegar. If you look inside with a torch (make sure unplugged first) you’ll see a ton of white mineral buildup. This can cause issues with pressure and if pressure has no where to go then it’ll leak. Also I notes here from other reviews… Read more
that it seems many people have not read the instructions at all. The instructions clearly state that the light will come on and once the steamer is heated to desired temperature it will turn off (it will not turn green or any other colour) also there is a lock and unlock button on the handle if it’s locked then no you can’t remove the lid for safety reasons if it’s unlocked and you have removed the wall socket plug then yes you can remove the lid, again this is in the instructions. The spinning lid means nothing it just means the device is turned on and you have locked the lock button. My only issue is that after using it for 40 seconds the light comes back on then you need to stop using it and wait for the light to turn back off again so it’s heated again to desired temperature.
Product is usable after lots of tinkering and trying – The screw on cap for water was broken when we took it out of the box. It won't open or close. Opened long enough to get water in, but wouldn't close properly and spewed hit water everywhere. EDITED!!!! The maker never got back to me, but I find figured out that the cap would not ever release if ANY pressure was in the container. On e I figured… Read more
out the extreme safety measures built in, it works fine. I've used it lot. But it would have been nice to have a call back or instructions that explained how it worked.
Can't get the lid off – I bought it about a year ago at Aldi. Love, love, love Aldi but after using this (worked great initially) and then storing it for a few months, I pulled it out again and could not unscrew the lid. I tried everything: looked at You Tube videos, pulled out pliers, etc...to no avail. I never saved my receipt so I guess I'm out of luck... Show details
Never worked – Today we bought the Aldi handheld Steam Cleaner, after unpacking and filling with 1 cup of distilled water I plucked the Device in switched it on , the orange light lit up and I waited for the green light to come on to show that it is ready. But this did not happen.Instead after a while there was a big Bang , Water discharged from the Filler Cup… Read more
and the House Power Circuit Breaker switched off . I tried it once more but now it blows the circuit breaker straight away.Since it has a 3 Year Warranty we will return it to the Store Tomorrow. We have not had much luck with Electrical Items from Aldi but at least they have a decent Warranty.
Unsafe – Leaked water everywhere, blew the home safety switch. Had water coming out of the power cord and handle become to hot to hold , obviously problems with water getting into electrical system, but otherwise good product. Show details
Found it in garage 5 days after 3 year warranty expired – Bought this in April 2019. Didn’t use it then and it ended up in a box in garage under another item. Found it today just as I was thinking of buying a $399 Karcher steamer from Bunnings. Used it this morning to get dirt out of shower grout and crud in corners of bathroom tiles. Works ok and got the grout and corners clean. Will try it on weeds popping up between pavers later on. Show details
Wish I'd read the review first – Worked once. Then cap became lose and could not be tightened. Returned for full refund. Disappointed with the product. It makes me want to think twice about Aldi products. I noticed when I returned the steamer it said Two month warranty on bottom of receipt. That should have been a warning! It lasted one day. Wish I had read reviews first – Pulled it out of the box, followed instructions on filling, attaching, made sure cap was on properly per instructions, switched it on to heat up, started to make the usual noises you get with steam cleaners indicating water is heating, then a "pop" sound. It stopped heating, light went off & cap is no longer firmly fitted but spinning freely both ways & won't come off. Given the other poor reviews, it's not worth the money. Show details
Hand held steam cleaner – I have just thrown mine in the bin! It was useless cleaning grout. A few days later …. I thought I’ll try it on the windows-couldn’t get the top off to refill it, neither could my husband. Sadly I couldn’t find my receipt to return…$30 in the bin, but I’d rather that than the frustration it caused me. Dreadful product. Show details

Disappointing – Ergonomics very poor, not good for anyone with thumb issues. Performance average to low, barely did anything compared to other steam cleaners I've used. Will be returning to store within a few days. Show details
Waste of money – Bought one today. Is very heavy to hold and to depress and hold the button inflames my arthritis around my thumb. It did nothing to remove creases in curtains. I only filled the tank once and to make matters worst, I cannot remove the safety closure to empty the tank. Will be returning it. Show details
Brilliant and so versatile! – This hand held steam cleaner is excellent value and has a multitude of uses. So far I have used it with great success for: *mirrors *glass shower screens *bathroom sinks and taps (it even removed ancient yellow marks and paint drips) *kitchen cupboards *cleaning the outside of the fridge *cleaning up spilt coffee grains stuck on a tiled floor… Read more
(unfortunately, one by one).
It has performed brilliantly! It does need refilling often, but I can do a mirror and the sink in the en suite in one go. The only downside is the scrubbing brush did melt a bit, but it still works well. Also, you must let it cool down completely to refill to release the steam and pressure, but that is simply for safety.
I look forward to cleaning my sliding doors with the glass cleaner and the grooves with the straight nozzle. If Aldi release it again I will be buying one for my 77 year old father to clean his bathroom with ease.

Absolute useless steamer – Only lasts about 5 minutes could only clean couple of tiles in shower then had to wait at least another 5 minutes to refill at this rate you would take hours to clean a shower - it went back Show details
Very disappointed – You have to only use 1/2 cup of water which was included, I only got to clean one tile before I had to refill, would have taken me all day to clean a room Show details
This product is not at all useful – This product is difficult to use. It is quite heavy once filled with water and holding the on button to operate is difficult so you end up with a very sore thumb and hand. I have only managed to clean a small section of the shower recess before the steamer ran out of water. You cannot refill the steamer until the unit cools down which takes… Read more
considerable time. I don't want to spend hours using the steamer to clean an area that I could do in 30 minutes. Have kept my receipt so will be returning the product.
Impressively bad! – Leaks so much water everywhere and makes a mess. The least ergonomic design where you need to use your thumb to push up the safety and depress the switch and need to hold it down to work the steamer. Leaves you with incredibly sore thumbs in no time. The second time I used it the steam nozzle broke off and I can't re-attach it. There is a dial… Read more
where you can change the steam power, there is a 1 and 2. The dial doesn't move, and appears it is just there for show. I'm impressed with how shockingly bad this steamer cleaner is! It's comical, really. Glad I kept the recipt bc this guy is getting returned, ASAP
