Alessi Lid Problem – I purchased this kettle and had it shipped to Australia, and have the irritating problem of the lid constantly popping up. I can't push it down to re seat the lid as it simply pops up again and worse I cannot get it looked at in Australia because it is not available locally. Update I did make contact with the company in Europe and explained the problem. They shipped me a new kettle free of charge to Australia and since receiving it have not experienced any of the initial issues. It is a great kettle having initially used it in Europe and now here and it is performing now as a kettle should. It boils water really quickly.

The Lid mul-functioned after 6months of use – Poor workmanship on the lid, after a while the spring inside just dislocated, and hard to fix it! This product definitely doesn't live up to expectation, and it's not cheap. Alessi should have just discontinued this model instead of still selling it on the market, stop conning consumers with your brand name.

Alessi Hot.it kettle – Works brilliantly fast. Looks great. But...The hinge for the lid broke within 3 months of purchase, and apparently this is a common problem. I purchased it from the UK to post to Australia and had to return it at great expense, so beware if you purchase this kettle from overseas. Beware. Super fast. Broke within 3 months of purchase.
