Pester with Emails to renew
Despite setting up payment via bpay on the due date, Allianz send emails pestering you to not to forget to renew your policy. When I receive their emails well before the due date, I have to log into my bank account to ensure that it is set up to pay on the due date. Very annoying.

needs improvement
easy to set up. Hard to work out which policy I am renewing. it would be good to have the property address on each email as a policy number does not identify the property unless you go through all your old policys

Impossible to contact or get any answers
I guess things are always great with all insurers until the time when you have to make a claim, right? And that's what we found with Allianz - had landlord insurance many years, never claimed. The recent QLD floods caused damage to the roof, which in turn created mould on the ceilings and some walls inside the house. The garage was also heavily damaged. This was back in Feb. Since then Allianz have not communicated with us at all, each time we call we are on hold for roughly an hour only to be told someone will get back to us and they never do....
Read more They outsource everything to other companies, so we have had 4 "assessors" calling and scheduling coming to the property since April (all of March there has been crickets) and well into May. Why four? Who knows - none of them know about each other and Allianz cannot be bothered to even tell us anything, so we don't even know if they work for Allianz. In the meantime we cannot have tenants inside a house that has such bad mould and surprise, surprise, Allianz will not cover us for the loss of rent. They sent us an email once advising they can take up to four months to resolve a claim and it certainly is heading that way. All in all a terrible experience and shocking customer service. What's the use?
Allianz Landlord insurance is a waste of money in a strata environment. Their contents coverage does not cover painted surfaces - that's in their building coverage - who takes out building coverage for a unit? Its covered by strata (who do not cover pained surfaces).

Seriously don't use - they claim everything as wear and tear
We recently put in a claim when the tenants left our property in a shocking mess, and Allianz came back with a zero claim, stating that everything was wear and tear. This is what we actually claimed for: The new dishwasher was ruined as they consistently left the property open such that rats has established a home in the kitchen, in the dishwasher and cabinets, and the dishwasher finally gave up with all the nesting material and urine; we also claimed for a wheelbarrow that was stolen; we claimed for the removal of two truckloads of rubbish ...
Read morethat they had just dumped in the garden before they left; we claimed for replacement carpets as the new ones we put in were so ruined and stained and damp that they were mouldy; we claimed for replacing the brand new IKEA kitchen we had installed, as again the rats had eaten through the bases and the cabinets were literally sitting in about 10mm or rat crap and pee; we claimed for a hole that had been made in the skirting board and wall of one of the bedrooms; we claimed for the fact that in order to get a tv cable into the house, they just pushed a hole in the fitted fly-screen and pushed the cable through...... all of these were classified as simple wear and tear and they rejected completely of modest claim of around $5,000. So, SERIOUSLY do not use them as Landlord insurance, their definition of Wear and Tear is basically anything and everything that could happen to your property.10 grand damage and end up paying allianz
Our tenants did over $10 000 damage. Alliance will cover around $100 worth of damage so we will pay them $500 in excess. Beware they deflect and refuse to pay. Terrible and morally defunct. Don't go with them.

Exemplary customer service
Contacted Allianz to sort out a landlord insurance policy issue. Each time I spoke to people who who understood my issue, who were knowledgeable about the insurance product and who knew what to do. Its rare to get great customer service these days.
1st renewal but left a bitter taste in the mouth….
The policy and price are good, but I find it bizarre that they want to charge an additional 20% to take the payment per month rather than in one payment.

Understand your PDS, and your rights
I had Landlord Insurance for 2.5 years that was great until it came to making a claim.
My situation had a tenant who had a child with a disability. They used the term under the PDS tenants child under Malicious acts to attribute the damage.
The time taken to complete the claim, took 10 weeks to which they gave me 10 days to repair the house myself.
Ultimately understand the PDS carefully, I would not recommend this company or their policy or the people who you have to deal with.
Premium rise high
The cost of the insurance went up by a whopping 25% from last year for no realistic increase in property value and no claims. This is clearly unsustainable. Quotes from other insurers are no better. How long do you expect people to put up with price rises like this.
Allianz increased premium about $100/annum without any reason .even I haven't made any claim.
As a loyal customer Allianz should have given me discount but they have increased premium over $100 instead. Although I haven't made any claim so there was no reason . I hope it won't happen every year or I will go to some other insurer.

Allianz Insurance Outsourcing
For these people who make a review based on how easy it is to set up their insurance please beware. I have/had landlord insurance with Allianz and needed to make a claim after my tenants moved out. It has been almost 6 months now since I made a claim. They have only now given me a blanket rejection on all claims without any explanation......after waiting 6 months!!

I have had two conversations with Allianz staff today to take out landlord insurance
I was with them in 2019 and thought I'd give them another go
Seems they have out sourced the call centre to India, the line is dodgy and the customer services skills were below pair
Constantly talking over me, not understanding or helpful

The worst landlords insurance
Please look at other companies other than Allianz. They have no intention of paying peoples claims. I took out Landlords insurance with Ray White insurance 13 years ago who use Allianz as the under writer. I had substantial damage done by tenants at a property. Allianz would only pay $400.00. They refused to pay for the carpets that I was insured for. The rent default that I was insured for. They just rang up and continually argued with me about every item that I had claimed for. I requested an internal review done before I will take to AFCA. I...
Read more requested this 2 weeks ago. It still hasn't been actioned. I told the customer relations team I was astounded at their continual attitude and would be writing a review. To which the customer relations officer said to me, well don't think writing a bad review is going to change our decision! I advised I would be writing a review so no-one else goes through the drama and stress of having to deal with this arrogant insurer. Anyway Ill be insuring with Terri Scheer from now on. Ray White Insurance do nothing either. AFCA here we come. Also please don't believe the 5 star reviews. Im of the opinion they are fake!Questions & Answers
Do you cover AirBNB as I have downstairs part of the house used for Airbnb
Allianz does cover Airbnb accomodation. You may have to pay a little more but better safe than sorry. Thanks, Emanuel
