The first time I claimed for my landlord insurance, they put me on hold about the claim, which would not be covered. Customer service is so bad, pass around with different call agents. Ended up arguing with them . Show details
Allianz has no problems taking your money, but when it comes to making a claim; they don't want to know you. Was insured with them for 6 years, and recently my tenant trashed my property. Being an apartment, Allianz wanted a letter from strata management that these damages won't be covered under strata building insurance. After obtaining this… Read more
letter from strata management, Allianz went back on their words and said they actually need me to lodge a claim with strata building insurance and obtain a decline letter for them to review my claim further. The lady over the phone was incredibly rude when I tried to explain the that strata building insurance won't cover damages caused my the tenant. The woman over the phone just kept ignoring me and continuously talked over me. In the end the strata manager was not going to make a futile claim with the building insurance. After wasting hours of my time, I've had to cop the loss and cancel my policy with Allianz. Never again will I be using Allianz.
Do not waste your money purchasing a home insurance policy with Allianz. Worst insurance company ever. I had a storm claim. The storm caused the patio roof to be blown away. Allianz came and inspected. They originally accepted my claim and approved the cash settlement. Only one day later, they rejected my claim based on wear and tear. What a joke!… Read more
They tried to find all excuses to reject your claim; the policy you purchased is not worth a cent. Claim assessors need to meet KPI to reject as many claims as possible. I paid my insurance for 10 years. Only made one claim due to storm and rejected. I cancelled all my policies with Allianz after that, not worth spending your money on

Claim unfairly rejected – I have had landlord insurance on several properties for over 40 years and in excess of 5 years with Allianz. Needless to say in that time I have had to make a couple of claims. With other insurance providers this has been a seamless and speedy process. But then there is Allianz. My tenant left the house in a terrible condition, holes in the… Read more
walls, paint stains across the floor, torn screen, broken laundry trough and the list goes on. I thought this was a "no-brainer" and put in a claim. Needless to say I was shocked when the claim was knocked back. Somehow they deemed holes in the wall up to 20cm square, a broken laundry trough from something far too heavy being dropped into it, paint spray all over the floor etc. as either fair wear and tear or poor house keeping when clearly it was malicious damage as none of this damage had occurred when a routine inspection was carried out 3 months earlier. How can holes in the wall, some above shoulder height. be deemed fair wear and tear. Thinking there must have been a mistake I appeared the decision. Refused again. After claiming back the full bond I'm still $5,000 out of pocket. I believe that insurance companies should be judged by how well and fairly they process and pay claims not get a rating by how friendly they were when you contact the call centre to take out the policy. Allianz should be ashamed of themselves.

Not worth the paper it’s written on – Tenants smashed mirrored wardrobe doors, their non approved dogs scratched the alfresco doors until ruined, and destroyed the security screen door… kitchen stone Benchtop cracked and chipped in a dozen areas… Allianz just said wear and tear!!! Their landlord insurance is not worth the paper it’s written on, DO NOT use Allianz for landlord insurance!!! Show details

Value for money – Allianz Landlord Insurance provides security and is great value for money. I have not had a claim but feel confident in knowing that all eventualities are covered. Thank you Allianz. Show details
Claim for window and blind damage went smoothly – Rock was thrown into a window at my rental property in Feb'23. Claim was made in the same month over the phone. Claim was handled by another department which asked for police report and window repair receipt and quote of blind replacement, which I provided. It was followed up within two weeks with payment (minus excess) into our bank account, Overall, a smooth process. Show details
I won't really know until I need to make a claim. I will then know how good the policy and company is – I think the policy is reasonable vale for the cover it provides but with all insurance policies you don't really know how good they are until you make a claim. I have been happy with how easy it has been to set up and renew the two policies I have with Allianz. Show details

In the market, this is the worst landlord insurance you can find. Place that money in your bank instead of paying them, so you can save it for when you need it. You have not received anything from them despite your tenants causing 100 in damages. Following a 50-day claim process, these are the findings. "The scratch marks on the flooring and… Read more
dents on the walls are consistent with damage caused by carelessly moving furniture, rather than deliberate actions intended to maliciously deny you use of the property. The damage to the timber blinds appears to result from poor housekeeping and neglect, including inadequate supervision of children. The wall damage behind the doorknobs is consistent with insufficient maintenance, such as the absence of door stoppers, and accidental damage caused by doors opening against the wall. In order to avoid paying us back, they use terms such as neglect, malicious damage, wear and tear, and vandalism. They use these terms as per their convenience. What do they mean by landlord insurance? The spa has been completely damaged, and it has been classified as having very poor housekeeping. I think Alilianz expected that the property owner will stay with tenants and monitor their housekeeping, manage their kids, etc.
Now that Allianz has a poor reputation, they cheat us through our banks rather than giving us policies on their own behalf. My policy was purchased at Westpac and I did not realise it was Allianz, simply using Westpac's brand name.
Last but not least, the customer service:- I contacted the case officer via phone and email multiple times. I never received a response to my voicemails or emails. Their purpose is to prepare you to give up claiming by delaying the process.
Our house was terriblly damaged and abandoned by tenants. When Allianz was called in for assessment, their assessor said the property was not safe for them to get in to make assessment and need "restoration". We questioned how do you assess the condition if it is restored. They answered over the phone, no worries, we will pay you. We trusted them,… Read more
and spent tens of thousand dollars on "restoration" according to their requirements. Then by the end, after more than one year of back and forth, most of the claim was not approved. They only approved more than $1K. Their report was that the damage was not malcious and the house was habitable. Why did their assessor refuse to get becuase of safety? ? Their claim mamager said to me over the phone, if the claim was approved, that would be too much money...
Attention Landlords - You may think that you’re covered under malicious damage under your Landlord insurance policy, however, Allianz will try and reject claims of malicious damage by writing them off as ‘poor housekeeping’. Go with an insurer who actually looks after you at the time of crisis and Allianz is certainly not it. They have tremendously let us down and even failed to conduct makesafe for safety issues around access to the property. Show details

Upstairs toilet cistern cracked (by tenants? fittings. The plumber they sent to do the report made a report on the wrong bathroom and I had to complain, he left the bath tap running in the main bathroom which was about to be renovated that our plamber had sealed for a leak, which made extra water costs and plumbing and electrician bills for us. They refused the claim as wear and tear! While the bathroom was old it was in working condition. They blamed a lack of inspections which had been carried out with no reports of a leak only 6 weeks prior. I was not expecting a new bathroom for free, simply repairs to the granny flat and a new cistern would have sufficed. No one even discussed that as an option. Just claim not approved. Thousands out of pocket not worth the paper it's written on. Never again with allianz. It's part of my job to sell allianz to my customers... sorry allianz you won't get my reccomendation ever, who cares about KPI's? I would hate my customers to have this experience. What a disgrace. I will be taking my employee discounted policies elsewhere and paying some other company to not look after me. Cheers!

Price increases ridiculous – My premium has gone up 25% apparently because flood cover is no longer an optional extra, even though my landlord insurance is for an apartment on the first floor and is extremely unlikely to be affected by flooding. Extremely disappointed when I've been with Allianz for a few years now without any claims. Show details
AVOID AT ALL COSTS – DO NOT GET LANDLORD INSURANCE THROUGH ALLIANZ. There is no point having insurance with them as the will find every possible tactic to not pay you. We provided all the evidence to the damage our tenant provided and nothing is covered. It is a waste of time and the service is slow, long and complicated. Use any other company except Allianz. Premiums expensive and overseas call centre staff poor in English language communication – Exhorbant premiums when renewing my Landlord Insurance policy. complaints. PLEASE DO NOT join Allianze they lure you in with cheap policy, only knowing they will refuse all claims and or submissions. DO NOT JOIN, LIARS and misleading and deceptive. They did not get an accessor to check out the damages, even though it clearly damaged by the tenants.
Try someone else – Consider someone else. Have a few policies with this insurer never claimed for years. Had one bad tenant vacate, with damages. Everything went through the property manager all genuine invoices and repairs. We decided to just get the work done so we not out of pocket rent waiting around. the bill being round 5400 once the claim settled received 337 not even 10% everything came down to tenant neglect. Waste of time and money! – After a 9 month legal battle to get a non-paying tenant out I had to wait 5 more months of unpaid rent for Allianz to tell me my insurance didn't cover theft from the tenant only malicious damage. Avoid Allianz Insurance at all costs – Today, Allianz Insurance denied our landlord insurance claim, claiming that the malicious damages rendering our property unlivable did not align with their “criteria”. Despite substantial evidence of tenant misconduct upon ending their lease , they fixated on trivial details, subjective assessments, and irrelevant information to dismiss the claim.… Read more
Avoid Allianz Insurance at all costs; their reluctance to settle claims renders landlord insurance ineffective. I reiterate, steer clear of Allianz Insurance for landlord coverage as they provide minimal coverage and will go to great lengths to avoid payout!
Cheap Premiums but don't expect them to pay out a claim. Go to Terri Scheer – What was a cheaper policy option for landlord insurance by about $100 turned into a disaster when a tenant caused about $5K of damage, including breaking windows, ruining curtains, blocking drains etc. After a great experience with Terri Scheer, I was expecting an easy process to submit the claim and get it paid out. Instead, I had to fill out… Read more
many forms and supply countless supporting documents, police reports etc. - all of which I did.
They had outsourced to a 3rd party review company who looked for everyway to deny as much as the claim, including a mirror light which they said is a hard fixture so should be claimed through building insurance, rejected the plumbing repairs to make the drains unblocked and even a new door handle that had been broken. Eventually they stripped the claims back that I had little left, and it was less than the excess amount.
As a customer, it felt like Allianz were never interested in helping to to see to a fair outcome, more to ensuring nothing was to be paid.
I am now in the process of cancelling my two policies and going back to Terri Scheer, who when I needed to claim $20k for a major Kitchen leak / water damage issue, were excellent, paid everything and were very easy to deal with.
Don't fall for the cheap entry price, you will only be let down by Allianz when you need to claim.

Loyalty Rewards – I was always of the understanding that staying with the one Insurer was a benefit. My phone call regarding our 2 renewals was cold, and blunt, that the renewal was the best possible deal. Show details
Landlord Insurance – The insurance premium went up considerably, however the amount insured for the building was a very minimal increase. I had to increase the excess to a ridiculous amount - it's becoming unaffordable. Show details
they don't honour there quotes – been with allianz for 5 years went to re-new my landlord insurance , but decided to to get a new quote as you will get it cheaper being a new customer then a loyal one , and the quote did come back cheaper so i decided to go with the new quote , but when i went to pay it they wouldn't honour it and tried to charge me $300 dollars more , whats the point of getting a quote if you don't honour it ,,, Show details
Worst insurance company! Serious consequences! – They just want your premium! When you make insurance claims, they lie and refuse. After half a year of insurance claim, this company just lied and said that they… Read more
think the damage was a natural cause. I am sure any other honest company would have approved my claims. Basically you get double f**ked by paying them premium and lost your good opportunity of insurance claim with an honest company.
Dont buy Allianz Landlord Insurance – Terrible experience with Allianz, I told them what the tenant had damaged in the property, and they said that I should talk to my real estate agent. Allianz don't care about you, they have a hundred thousand excuses to convince you that you cannot make a claim. No matter what you say, they will tell you that's not part of their policy. They only know how to take money from us.. Show details
Was going great until – Renewed with them for the third time for landlord insurance and no issues. A few days later went to try and give them my own house insurance and got a big fat NO because they now class my suburb as high risk , this despite the other property only being one street away. Allainz landlord insurance, most terrible insurance in Australia! – Avoid using Allianz landlord insurance and their 3rd party partner sedgwick, they work together to squeeze blood out of bones to reduce your claims, very slow process and unfair outcomes. Allainz will take your monthly installments without a minute delay, but take weeks and months to process your claim, meanning further losses to your rental income. Very frustrating and disappointing :( Show details
Difficult to get basic info to renew – I never received a renewal in the mail, just brief reminders that premium was coming due. I wanted to pay by BPAY, but it only gave me a credit card option.
