Only if you are desperate – After finally getting to speak to an Apia consultant in regards to cancelling the policy due to cost I was asked if we lowered the payment could we interest you in staying with us. Really? So they admit they could have charged a lower premium to me after all this time? They are very obviously ripping people off if they can give you the option of lowering their premium only after you want to cancel the policy. Show details

Apia told me thankyou for being such a loyal customer..… Read more

Apia were fantastic – When my wife passed away on the 4th May 2021 Apia settled the policy in a very short period of time no hassel great to deal with. I had another small policy with Real funeral insurance lots of paper work and very hard to deal with. When you lose your Wife after 54 years of marrage you need help not hinderence. Show details ·  1

Disappointing – I can only comment on the initial contact as fortunately there has been no claim made. When signing up for the policy, everything I requested regarding renewals was promised, however the very first renewal, one year later, overdrew my bank account because no invoice received prior to due date. I cannot understand why I am required to email Apia… Read more

requesting an Emailed invoice one month prior to due date. I cannot understand why payment can only be via direct debit in lieu more convenient Bpay.

Very sad experience this mob – Promised the world via phone , very big on discounts which dont seem to eventuate : claim minimal increases in premiums BUT within 9 years premiums increased by 100% . Had to cancel out because couldnt keep up these payments Paid in total more than policy value but Apia refused to refund any of this policy . Keep clear of this mob Show details

APIA funeral insurance – Easy to set up over phone. I haven’t lodged a claim. The value is in allowing direct debit fortnightly from pension. It makes payments manageable without worrying about large monies required later Show details

Not happy. insurance making life harder – So my wife and i are pensioners and we thought that Apia is there to help pensioners, but how wrong we where. We have insured our house and contents, also our car and two funeral insurance covers, but Apia is no good for pensioners as we have found out after 16 years for paying for home and contents plus car and 6 years of funeral payments ,… Read more

every year the fees keep going up and up by a few dollars on each cover, but the pension does not go up to mach the insurance cover, as a matter of fact everything goes up, and our financial struggles keeps getting harder and harder, as for Apia funeral cover it is the same up and up and up, this is ridiculous, take a look at the Insuranceline cover what it says, here is one little example that makes an an enormous difference to pensioners, "Premiums don't go up just because you get older." https://www.insuranceline.com.au/funeral-insurance, there are also a lot more benefits with Insuranceline, also my wife rang and asked Apia what would happen if we cancel our funeral cover, the answer was we would lose all that we have paid, but we did not make any funeral claims, Pity that pensioners are being squeezed so much by an insurance that is supposed to be there for them, two stars because of a claim we made and we did not have much trouble, a little bit of a hiccup when claiming but was sorted out after i complained about the cover offered.
