On Monday 15th September 2025 I purchased this so I can view photos and videos, play games, surf the internet, write poems, stories and do PowerPoint Presentations while I am in bed. On Thursday 18th September 2025 morning I got a refund from Prezzee for the $300 and the $100 Gift Vouchers since they were both purchased without my knowledge. Show details
Follow-up · My favourite M1 feature is the Touch ID so I can just put my finger on it instead of entering my password. The sound quality is amazing. The performance is great with multiple apps.
Love the frame. The screen breaks easy though. Long battery life, easy to use. But not in bed. The edges are a little sharp. Show details
Brilliant workhorse, gold standard option warranty – Bought to replace an Intel i9 HP laptop workstation that spectacularly failed after 38 months, very expensive paper weight. MBP could not have been so different. Reliable, brilliant keyboard 85% battery after 5 years, running windows courtesy of parallels. My cat jumped from a worksuface onto the table I was working on and managed to knock a full… Read more
cup of coffee over the device. Despite incredulous efforts to minimise coffee ingestion it died. Fortunately I had maintained my apple care which covered the cost of a systems board( RAM, HD, + board), screen battery , and keyboard $2300 worth of repaired for a $410 contribution. I have used Apple products since 1981, cannot fault their engineering, longevity and customer service. As far as I am concerned they are the gold standard in laptops, phones, tablets and seriously good desktops.
Apple Macs lasting less than 5 years – Apple support has been deteriorating continuously since Steve Jobs and it has become almost useless. They are unwilling to assist on anything and my computer only seems to have software issues and still in almost brand new condition. After going through senior consultants and consumer team, I could still not find a single person to help resolve… Read more
the issue. Suffice it to say I will be moving away from Apple products from here on, especially Mac products. A $300 refurbished laptop has more capabilities and lasts longer.
Best laptop – First Apple product I've ever bought. I chose this because of its M1 chip. I'm most impressed with its performance. After nearly 4 years of use, it's still working perfectly. If it was a windows laptop, I'd be looking for an upgrade by now. Mine has 16GB of RAM, as I knew 8GB wouldn't be enough. The only down side is that there is a bit of a learning curve if you are used to windows. Show details
More about the service policy of Apple – I bought an Apple Macbook Air in 2018 when my previous model died. It was so out of date it was almost an antique. Anyway, the new Macbook was pretty terrible from day one, only I didn't realise as it was suffering from a slow mortal disease. It ran hot, way too hot to use on a plane for instance, or sit it on my knees. The keys were alight… Read more
non-stop. Computer intermittently crashed. Plus I could smell burning plastic. Keys stuck and repeated in long lines. Some not typing at all. So I took it back. I grumbled about how it would be sensible to swap it for a new one but Apple did a full top replacement and that was that. For a few months. Same problem came back, sneaking up on me like a Melbourne heatwave. Again, I took it back and this time begged for a new one. Nope, they said. We can fix it. Again, the top replacement. It was OK, but the keys were clunky, inaccurate and gradually each one started to stay alight like an all-year Christmas shop. Computer crashed every time I moved away from it. I searched for a reason. Finally took it back and lo and behold, the Apple service people said it had to be replaced. They ordered a new one. I took the old one home and backed everything up and very quickly got the call that my replacement was ready. The staff at our branch has to work to a certain policy - 3 strikes and the computer is out. It was certainly fabulous to open up the new one and the keyboard is soft, almost silent, stays on when I want it to and in fact, a perfect computer. I am back to loving Apple after our little lovers' tiff. The kindness and time spent talking me through it all was greatly appreciated. This was the Apple corporate model I fell in love with in the (mumble mumble) late eighties. So the moral of this is that a good company will always deliver but sometimes they make you jump through hoops, and that's OK. But it would have been a lot cheaper for them to have switched it instead of putting me through a few years of torment. I get it - it must be a challenge for them to avoid the many free-loading scammers out there. But I've got Apple loyalty going back years and we genuine fans are worthy of trust. Having said that, the staff have always been faultless - just hampered by a rigid policy.
Faulty Product Design – We bought the hardcover protection case and extended warrantee. In less than 1year the screen is damaged from where the keyboard closes on it. Now we are told that is not covered by the warrantee - even though the computer damaged itself. So I need to pay $800 for them to fix it! Show details
Another amazing laptop – I bought this to replace my 2012 MacBook Air and I’m in love with it so far. Design and finish are beautiful rose gold, slim, bigger screen than my old one but half the weight. Very fast, easy to load everything from your old macbook. My only issue is I cant find the right size cover online there isn’t much choice yet for this model. Show details
Perfect – I recently decided to replace by 2012 13" MacBook Air as this will reach 'end-of-support' this year. With my new 13" M1 MacBook Air (see attached pic) I continue the Apple experience, and best of all, all my documents, passwords etc. came across from iCloud effortlessly. I look forward to another decade of hassle free computing :) Show details
Worst experience ever with a laptop – The laptop was slow and difficult to use. After a year the laptop would not switch on. It was the most inconvenient experience ever with Apple to arrange for servicing and to have it repaired. Will not recommend this product to friends. Other computer brands have outlasted and outperformed the Apple laptop. Show details
BUY REAL LAPTOP NOT APPLE – Worst decision ever, If you wanna buy laptop BUY REAL LAPTOP.Never go with Apple. You will stuck and ending up paying more and more money & customer service not good .They don’t like you go in the store at all. Show details

MacBook Air series not what it once was – I’ve been deeply Apple-loyal ever since 1991: first the 128K, then G3 desktop, then a series of laptops, iPads, and iPhones. I always praised Apple’s reliability. “Sure,” I said, “their devices are very expensive, but since they’ll last at least 5 years, you’re doing the right thing for the planet”. I was so loyal that when my second iPhone 6… Read more
Plus developed overheating issues after 12 months, I dismissed that as unlucky.
But then the logic board in my son’s late 2015 MacBook Air catastrophically failed when the machine was two years old ($800 to replace - ouch). And now my local Apple authorised repairer tells me that the logic board in my late 2017 MacBook Air (bought Nov 2018) has also failed after 2 years! $1600 in repairs for two machines? That doesn’t sound smart when a new HP laptop is $599.
I just called the Apple customer support line, and the Apple rep explained that because I bought the laptop in Singapore, I don’t have consumer protection in Australia. I agreed this was the case, but said they should be willing to make a warranty exception for a long-standing customer, since I paid a $1459 for this product and I had a reasonable expectation that it would work for longer than 2.5 years. I’ve never dropped it, or let water near it. It’s had an easy life.
I’m not at the end of the story, as they’ve agreed to collect the machine and look at it. But there is no guarantee of a resolution. There appears to be no general rule that they’ll support customers who have paid three times as much for their device as they’d pay for a competitor’s product.

Well here is the update.
I have upgraded my review from one star to three stars because Apple finally agreed to replace the logic board in my machine at no charge even though I purchased the unit overseas and was not eligible for an Australian consumer warranty. So for now I am hanging in there as an Apple customer.
love love it use it for work everyday – love this device , highly recommend it . I been using it u work and boyyyyyyy the battery life is great . love how light it is and fits anywhere especially hand bags ahah Show details
Sexiest, most reliable lap top ever – I recently purchased this and for the first time, in gold which resembles more like rose gold than the bright yellow gold. I love it. It's so sleek, slimline and sexy. I am a Mac user so I have no issues using it. It's like every other Mac but this one is so fast and so reliable. It turns on immediately when you open the lid, and the set up at… Read more
the start was so easy - usually I get my husband to do it but this time, I did it all by myself which is testament to how easy it is to set up. And unlike the older products, you don't have to fully charge it first. It also has touch recognition - i use my finger on the button of the top right corner.
Only negative I have is that it only has USB C port - most of my devices have the regular USB. So I was forced to go and buy an adaptor just so I can plug in my iPhone charger, external hard drivers, wireless mouse etc.
And FYI - I only use my lap top for basic stuff which is why I purchase this basic model. It is not for work, it's for personal use only and I do use it every day.
I purchased this via JB Hi Fi online during Covid lock down and delivery came within a week. Very happy with that. And I managed to price match it too.
Loving the speed – Fantastic little machine and the guys at jbhifi in Prahran have been amazing showing me some new features Love the new clearer display and the one touch log in plus Siri on command. No regret purchasing here Show details
Love it, it's super fast – So happy with my purchase, the M1 chip is super fast. The MacBook Air is lightweight, it is still quite powerful and I am able to use my usual programs - Microsoft Office and download multiple things at once without noticing a decrease in operating speed. I had a choice of coloursReally pleased with this and wish I had upgraded my laptop sooner! Show details
A great lap top. I bought this after comparing various models and seen variety of reviews on youtube – M1 chip is amazing , extremely fast . very light. Doesn't heat up at all. key pad is excellent and although its not a touchscreen, I prefer this and works like a treat. Show details
Moisture issues – I purchased my 13 inch MacBook in October 2020. This is my sixth Mac in 26 years and I love this laptop. Recently after an automatic software upgrade it became very slow and the motor fan very loud. I took it to the authorised Apple repair shop and they told me that there’d been a lot of problems with the latest software upgrade and it would cost… Read more
$49 to fix. I queried this and was told software issues are not covered under warranty. I took my laptop home and to cut a long story short after four hours with three separate phone calls to Apple support, they agreed to provide a voucher for a free repair. Ten days later the repair shop advised that there was water on the logic board and it would cost $700 to repair. I have never ever had any water near my laptop so then started two weeks of discussion again with Apple support which was eventually escalated to a senior staff member. Finally they agreed that they would meet the cost of the repair. The problem seems to be that in high humidity areas you need to store your laptop in a sleeve which will alleviate the problem of moisture build up. I’ve never ever had this problem before but I am grateful that Apple are paying for the repair and I have now ordered a sleeve. You can see from the photo where the moisture is. I’ve also included a photo of the report.
Perfect Laptop for 80% of users – I have been away from Apple for a while and decided to give the new Apple MacbookAir ("MBA") a go. I have been using a Dell XPS13 for my daily driver for quite some time but Dell seem to be a bit hit and miss with their releases lately so I decided to throw caution to the wind with the new release of Apple Powered machines. Well I am blown away,… Read more
the MBA has no fan, is super fast and feels like the best quality available to man. The only negative i would give it is that I am not a fan of the new USB3 connectors but that is a personal gripe based on not wanting to change all of my USB devices or use a dongle. The laptop seems to have transcended normal physics by being Fast, Quiet and giving (based on my use) up to 15 hours battery life.
Although many of the programs I use are not yet "Native" to the new system and chip in the MBA, it doesn't matter, Apple have managed to make them work anyway with something called "Rosetta 2". I don't know what it is or how it works, much like when I get in the car and just drive it I don't need to know how the pistons and timing works, as long as they do.
If you are a normal user of computers Mail, Internet, Youtube, some office work i.e. XL, Word etc. This machine will handle anything you can give it. I'm not one for games (on laptops) so I cannot give an opinion on that. There are videos online of it playing games on full setting with great results. Also more engineering users or Drafting 3D users may want to look at the MacBookPro, but for me this is the perfect machine.

This is great – This is a great laptop for your kids to start high school with. I recommend getting a clear case to go over it to protect it. But however, something the click bar feels weird and is very sensitive when you first get it but you can change it in settings. This is a great laptop and I recommend getting it at Christmas because it is cheaper. Show details · 1
Very average – Bought this macbook air 13" in March 2020 - Pros: - fingerprint ID to unlock - display is good Cons: - heats up very quickly and the fan has to turn on and is very loud; have noticed all it takes to overheat is having 4 applications open (one of them google chrome with >4 tabs open). - camera quality is bad, side by side next to the 2013… Read more
macbook air 13, the 2013 model comes out on top hands down. the 2020 camera is incredibly grainy despite being the official product information & specs online stating: FaceTime HD camera for one‑to‑one and group calls & 720p FaceTime HD camera (the same as 2013 model)
Have taken my macbook air in to try and fix the above camera issue, to their credit they noticed the camera lagged and they changed the entire display unit - however the camera is still grainy, and i have been informed that "these were never built to have really good cameras", a surprisingly honest admission from an Apple employee, i was also told "the way it takes in light is different" the implication being that this factor contributes to my dissatisfaction with the camera.
Overall: it was better value to purchase the new 2020 model than it was to fix my 2013 model (loose hinge/display + damaged keyboard) if i were a more savvy tech consumer I would have taken the time to explore other brands/models.
Perfected! – This computer has been thru 4 revisions and this one is the best version. Keyboard is responsive and the screen is super clear. Speed and ergonomics are also very comforting! Show details
The only problem I have is software issue – I have used this MacBook for about 1 year now and I have to say that I can't live without it. Previously I have always used Microsoft based laptops like HP, Lenovo, Toshiba but I thought I want to give Apple products a go since I have heard good feedback from my sister about it. The reason why I chose MacBook Air instead of Pro was based on : 1.… Read more
Price 2. Usage 3. Function My main use for this computer is for study / work, browsing, watching videos, etc , so the basic model will do. My only concern in the beginning was whether it is compatible with Microsoft Office and Endnote because they are the two main applications that I need to use for my study. Thankfully they are compatible and I have no problem using it.
The only downside while I'm using this MacBook was the battery life. On a few occasion, the battery life went from 100% to 0% overnight even though it was on sleep. I have even gone to Apple support and get it fixed, and they couldn't find any hardware issues, but only suspect that perhaps it was application problem. so what they did was that they re-format my laptop, which was a hassle. Later, I found out that Spotify drains your battery even if it is not playing, so make sure always quit it, and also do not attach any usb etc to the port when not in use because that also drain your battery.
Overall, I would suggest this laptop. I love the resolution, how quick it turns on/off, and the overall speed. I don't have to wait for ages for any updates, unlike other laptops
Camera quality very poor - returned – Updated macbook air 2013 to new 2020 model. Camera quality is MUCH poorer. Apple said that they know it performs poorly in low light, but claim that it is superior in ambient light. Photos taken side by side with my 2013 model show this is not the case. In well lit room with a light on my desk (!!) - grainy and poor. Returned for full refund,… Read more
