Rose gold macbook air review – Its stylish design and feather-light frame make it a look so filmy and sleek, seamlessly blending into my busy lifestyle. The increased battery life has been a good feature. Quick start-ups and seamless app launches demonstrate its efficiency, although the camera's problem in low light and the display's occasional issue in direct sunlight are moments of reflection. Show details

Portable powerhouse! – I purchased this a a back up laptop to take with me on trips and to use on my commute to the office. It has not skipped a beat! No issues with slow downs or other performance problems. It's just a great machine and hats off to apple for producing a really useful piece of kit. The quality of construction is just first rate. The screen is so… Read more

pleasing to use and the keyboard is great for long typing sessions.

The best bit is the return of MagSafe. Aved my bacon on more than one occasion.

Never used Mac, haven’t looked back – After using windows products for the last 20 years I was hesitant to finally get a MacBook. I’m glad I did as it’s been so easy to use working from home and connecting into my screen at work. I love being able to copy from my phone and paste into the safari browser. Airdrop is seamless too. It’s made everything so much easier! Show details

""MacBook models are vulnerable to cracks in their screens" and "spike in [MacBook Air] repairs due to water damage" – Apple Insider | Sep 15, 2021: Apple hit with lawsuit "'models ship with a concealed defect...are vulnerable to cracks in their screens...MacBook Pro and and MacBook Air models." I am writing this review to warn purchasers, especially parents, about buying MacBooks, whether Pros or Airs, as the problem happens in both and in fact Airs might have… Read more

an extra fragility issue (see below), which is another reason why I am posting here. My particular complaint is with my daughter's MacBook Pro and you can find details under Apple MacBook Pro 14" 2023: MacBook Fragility Warning! "Out of the 20 Macbook [the article concerned we have here, 3 have this problem."

However why I feel it is appropriate to write a further review/warning here on top of the cracking issue, bad enough as that is, is what I discovered in the research on the matter, was happening to MacBook Airs enmasse at the same school.

My daughter informed me of an email all girls at her school, unlike my daughter 99% with MacBook Air, received that included this:

"Dear all Students,

With all of the recent rain that we have been having, we have seen a spike in laptop repairs due to water damage. I thought it would be a good reminder to send this email to you all with tips on taking better care of your laptop."

Given I hardly see the girls using their laptops as umbrellas, I find this again a warning as to how seemingly unsuitably fragile these MacBooks are as a school laptop. Especially as given my experience, Apple seemingly cares zero about obligations under Australian Consumer Law, especially a top-end product like theirs, is surely failing to meet?...

A product sold to a consumer must be of acceptable quality. Acceptable quality means the product: -is safe, durable and free from defects -does everything that similar products are commonly used for. [like being used as a reliably durable school laptops]

consider questions like: -What kind of product is it, and how does it compare to similar products? -How much did it cost, and how does it compare to products of a similar price? [usless durability compared to cheapo laptop loaners my girl and others (hardly as careful with it then) were given in primary school. -Did the business warn the consumer about any defects, or warn against the product’s use in a certain manner? [No and No]

Fit for a specific purpose You guarantee that the goods you sell will be reasonably fit for their intended purpose. You guarantee that the product you sell will be suitable, if the consumer: - clearly told you or your salesperson how the consumer wanted to use the goods and - relied on you or your salesperson's knowledge or expertise when deciding if the goods would suit their needs.

[Laptop's purpose is to be mobile with surely an expected amount of durabilty. However is my case the MacBook was bought from the Apple seller to the school clearly and specifically as a necessarily durable take to-and-from school laptop]

M2 chip 13.6” MacBook Air is the first air I’ve owned and I’m glad I chose it over the pro (for now) – I’ve only worked with Apple pro products because I’m a photography student and I’m surprised with what this MacBook can handle. It can easily do everything for uni but can handle multiple things at a time whilst using the tv and iPad with side car and display+. Very happy with the look and feel of it but the colour is definitely the selling point for me. Show details

Perfect Everyday Laptop – I reviewed the M1 laptop a couple of years ago, and that was a great laptop. I however wanted the new design and bought first of all the Macbook Pro M1 16 inch. This is an awesome laptop but just turned out to be a little too heavy/large, and overkill in the power department for my needs. I then sold the Pro and bought the new M2 Macbook Air.… Read more

This thing is brilliant, its light, powerful, magnificent battery life and the design is perfect. It is quality in every sense of the word and flawless in my opinion.

I am convinced that even though this laptop is a more expensive than others, the extra is worth it for flawless design and operation. Windows is getting better but is still no match to MacOS, and not other laptop manufacturer can match the aluminium body experience. Its cool, sturdy (no flex) and a great tactile experience.
