Not the best – Fridge did maintain temperature ok for about 8 years. From new it always made loud gurgling noises Drain at the lower rear would clog up regularly so would tend to leak condensate all over the kitchen floor. One day the temperature rose to 8c...2 different repairers couldn't tell me the cause. I don't think I'd buy another Ariston.

Worst piece of junk on the planet – Bought brand new at Harvey Norman's and found the deain at the rear constantly blocked and made the fridge mouldy, it never felt truely cold. The compressor failed about a month out of warranty. Ariston did make amends after a week or so and refunded the full cost, which was good. As I have a matching freezer like an idiot I bought another fridge… Read more

of the same type, this time the back plastic has cracked and is water logged, the compressor is stuffed and the drawers and door shelves are cracking badly. This fridge is everything that is wrong with modern manufacturing, total PoS. I will never buy Ariston again.

Should of never brought this fridge – We brought this Ariston fridge in 2011 thinking it would be good - it is without a doubt the worst fridge I have ever owned. It has drainage problems and excessive cracking of the internal structure - walls. We did contact Harvey Norman where we purchased the fridge about the ice freezing on the back wall and it was picked up and sat at a licensed… Read more

repairer for over three months and when it came back, I’m House was infested with cockroaches that came out of under their fridge, after years of spraying and bombing we have got the under control. The repairman said DONT let anything sit at the back of the fridge and we don’t BUT there’s still always water under the crisper and then leaks onto the floor.

Not only with the back wall cracking and the drainage problems STILL we NOW have an E2 flashing and I’ve just spent the past 4 hours on the internet and in the manual and can’t find anything. NOT HAPPY

Constantly Freezing up – The fridge ( part of a pigeon pair) is now constantly freezing up at the top of the back wall and the temperature won't go below 8 degrees therefore all of our food is not cold and not lasting. It has always iced up if food was touching the back wall and has cracked in a number of places because of this Design fault. I am very disappointed with… Read more

this fridge and now have to get a new fridge and freezer as they are a pigeon pair because our food is going bad and we are constantly having to throw out food that would normally last.

Very disappointed – We purchased the pigeon pair a couple of years ago as we were very happy with our ariston brand washing machine. We have had the same issues with the drain hole in fridge blocks by constantly and have also had to chuck out food that has been frozen when placed at. Ack of the fridge. I was also very disappointed with how well food kept. Fruit and… Read more

veg were going bad much sooner ( than they would in our previous Westinghouse) and I had to keep all fresh produce in seperate containers. Even when in the crisper food went mouldy and floppy within a couple of days. Extremely disappointed and we will probably have to replace much sooner than we wanted to.

Dissapointed – Purchased this fridge/freezer just over 2 years ago. Leaking water from under the crisper every time we open it, big puddle of water. Back wall of fridge freezes up, anything that touches it freezes as well. Paper etc, can't get off. Freezer alarm goes off if you have the door open a couple of times in quick succession. Takes about 3 goes at… Read more

Ariston fridge that just acted randomly, had severe drip and finally started warming instead of cool – I have an Ariston fridge thrust on me as it is was provided by the developer in a unit I purchased. I have been unhappy since day one as some parts of the fridge froze and I also have the problem with water accumulating below the crisper as some drainage plug seems to be blocked. This required a sponge out every month. Often the thing likes to… Read more

wake me in the middle of the night with incessant beeping... the kind of beeping that accompanies the door being left open. You guessed it. The door was always closed shut tight. A quick open and close fixes the problem for a few days until another midnight call.

I have asked my neighbours about their fridges ( we live in a 4 story set of units) and EACH ONE has a story to tell of some mal-function. We all think its normal to mop out the water from the crisper and below. Many have freezer issues. Its just such a poor choice of fridge by the developer.

The bottom apartment says "supa freeze" but it was actually more just like a fridge. Nothing stayed frozen. It made ice cubes which were frozen on the outside and water on the inside. Quite a party trick! Meat remained semi frozen. I had to put a camping freezer on the balcony as a freezer.

Now after barely two years the whole thing has become a food warmer and not a cooler. I noticed the bottom stopped cooling recently only after some sausages were warmed for days and created a right rotten mess. Now the top is no longer cooling either.

I'm quite amazed how poorly designed and constructed this fridge is and I would never buy one if I had the choice. Its not like fridges are new technology. My mum has a fridge at her house that is older than me and still going.

Ariston appliances - no thanks! – Heartily agree with Nichelle (Devastated 17.11.15) as the same thing has happened to us. My full freezer died without warning last night and loads of food has had to be binned. Also experiencing the same problem with the drain hole in the fridge blocking up. I keep a chux near it now and squeeze it out regularly. Water collects in the bottom… Read more

underneath the crisper bin. Pigeon pair is only 5 years old. Also have an Ariston Open Space wall oven that I've had problems with - two computer control units replaced to date. I've given up using the grill. It's too fierce and burns everything - chars toast crusts before the centre is even coloured - and that's at 80% on a lower shelf. The oven fan used to come on at will but even now it runs for a long time after cooking is finished. Wouldn't touch another Ariston product with a barge pole.

Thanks for the warning! – I checked this frig today at Joyce Mayne, reduced from $1286 to $1096. It fills my requirements, but after reading this series of reviews, I wouldn't buy it for a dollar! Ariston, your name will be forever sullied in my mind, and you would have been better to have recalled this frig before your reputation was laid waste. Ariston? Never again will I look at that brand.

Cracks & icing up of internal back wall of refrigerator – We have encountered the same problem as Lesley Williams (posted Aug 20, 2015) We purchased the same model of refrigerator and have noticed the same problems as Lesley - there are cracks in the rear wall (photos have been taken), and it is continually covered in a thin coating of ice. 16th April 2012. I've checked the Peace Of Mind warranty documents for both units (which I lodged shortly after purchase) and it appears that the units are only covered for two (2) years - which really doesn't give much Peace of Mind - yes, I agree, this is really very disappointing.

In regards to the Freezer (matching model to the refrigerator) - it is continually freezing up underneath the bottom draw, which makes it difficult to pull the draw out. My husband often has to remove the draw and defrost the iceberg building up on the freezer floor

FYI - even though we paid for the freezer at the same as the fridge, we were given a loaner freezer because Harvey Norman initially didn't have stock of that model at that time, and we had to wait 3 months for this model of freezer to arrive

Disillusioned – Wish I had read reviews first. We purchased our fridge and freezer pair after recommended by TV personalities. Since then have had repairs on all of above problems freezing etc. Our fridge… Read more

freezing at back and cracking on back panel, contacted Harvey Norman was told Well there not made to last these days, I was disgusted with this comment, so I contacted Ariston direct and explained my issue and comment from Harvey Norman . I did explain it was out of warranty but felt a product like this should last longer than 4.5 years (we have other fridges 10 + still working) . I must admit they were very good I sent pics of cracking, waited week then was told that man has now left was now disappointed but than told wait and they would get back to me and to my dismay that said they would replace for me, FANTASTIC but I did say it is now discontinued but they said but hey would find one, 3 days later it arrived, very impressed but when open box it was different looking... Now shiny finish (do prefer) but doesn't match freezer. Now sits in laundry as drinks fridge.

My comment to anyone would be yes read comments reviews and don't believe all celebrities comments and adds. Wouldn't recommend or purchase ariston again.

Very Disappointed! – First bought ariston pigeon pair in 2010 - 2012 the fridge had an internal gas leak (as per service technician) i didn't have a problem with ariston replacing the fridge but it took time ! And communication was poor, i had to keep at them. 2015 - the "new" fridge - has all cracks in the lining of the back of the fridge!!! No wonder all my food is… Read more

spoiling. I really really do not want another ariston so that i have to go through this all again in another 2 years. As with many other reviews i have read here, the little hole at the bottom of the fridge constantly blocks so that water/condensation runs under the crisper drawer and onto the floor...Yep this is great to slip over when there is a disabled person in the house - plus the food poisoning as my food is spoiling - who covers the medical costs?

I think ariston would be best to let me have store credit at harvey norman where i bought the product, the fridges should be recalled - in fact i think i need to copy this review to choice magazine and see how many complaints there have been. I don't even want the freezer - i want to replace both with something that will not give me grief. Paid $2200 for the pair, probably lost that much is food over the years. Stay tuned.

Size is just right – We purchased 4 years ago, some issues with the drainage in the fridge but found regular cleaning and not pushing items to the back wall of fridges helped. Recently broke the fridge handle, finding replacement hasn't been easy. Aside from these minor things we are happy with the overall space & performance.

1 star is too generous – I would give it negative 1 star if I Could. This would have to be the worst fridge that exists on the planet. It,s a piece of crap and the freezer that matches whilst working is not all that good either...

It should not be known as a fridge but a food locker – I bought an Ariston fridge 2 1/2 years ago. I had the first fridge for six months and throughout that time all the food would freeze and big puddles of water would leak out the front, so I think it should have been called a freezer. Haha! Eventually after 6 months of freezing the food, the back wall cracked from an ice build up, between the… Read more

casing and the insulating wall.

I phoned the store I bought it from and they delivered a new fridge. Yah!! Gotta tell you after the first fridge I did not have much faith and kinda knew I had bought a lemon. Well, the second fridge, made all the food warm, not warm like an oven just like not so chilled, so all the food would go off and what do you know, big pools of water at the front!! The door has rusted and well really I now only use it to store dog food,(if you only open the door once a day and check that it has not changed temperature it stays cool enough (to store dog food). In the meantime a friend gave me an 8 year old Fisher & Paykel that they no longer needed. This is not rivalry believe me, just being honest. I will never buy an Ariston product ever again, It is total rubbish. Don't believe the spin I know it appeared on a particular reality cooking show, buying a place in the Australian market. Summary; companies have been making fridges for years, maybe one of them can show Aritson how to make one that works. Looks good, nothing else Everything

Don't Waste Your Money! – Worst purchase I ever made! From the moment it was delivered I had problems with this fridge heating up, then cooling down again. When I called Ariston Customer Care about this problem I was told "it's a cold wall fridge & that's just what it does!" Never mind the fact that when it constantly does that all the time the milk goes bad. Then 1 year… Read more

later water starts pouring out the fridge every time I open it. Called Ariston again and finally they send out a technician who advises me "you need to shove some kind of thin wire down this hole in the back of the fridge as it will freeze over and you have to unblock it for the water to go down". So for another year I just put up with the fridge and it's heating up, cooling down, and need to be unblocked. Then suddenly on the last day of the warranty period I open up the fridge in the morning and everything in there has gone off and fridge was not cold. Called Ariston again, who advised me it's out of warranty, call a repair man. Not happy with that I called head office who finally sent out a repair man. Repair man comes and announces the fridge is not fixable, it's had a gas leak for quite some time. Two weeks after the fridge was declared dead Ariston have sent me a brand new fridge. The exact same model. So here we go again!! Another two years of heating up, cooling down, unblocking a frozen over drain hole & oh, yes, forgot to mention, if you put your food to far back into the fridge, be prepared for it to freeze to the back wall! So all I can say, if your standing in front of this fridge at an electrical retail store, step away! Don't waste your money!! It looks nice especially when paired with the freezer and it's a giant fridge so it fits practically anything. Where do I start? Waste of money. Food goes bad or freezes to the back wall, leaks water if drain hole freezes over, water runs out the bottom of fridge if drain hole is blocked, food in the vegetable drawer goes bad easily as water always builds up on the underside of the shelf that goes over the vegie drawer, oh there's too many cons to mention!

Do not buy it! – The design of this fridge is terrible. Containers and food are always being frozen to the back of the fridge. very quickly and takes a long time to regain it. The door shelves are too short and the milk cartons and water bottles always fall out when the door is opened. Also the handle has snapped off the fridge. Have continuously contacted Ariston, and usually never get a reply until I have called/emailed/faxed numerous times. Even then their replies are just that they want more information, or will pass it to the correct department. Have put up with it as long as I could, and have just replaced it. Much happier. It was the only fridge that would fit in my kitchen. Everything.
