I wish I knew these crap were going to charge $100 per year to get the recording from the camera before I bought it. NEVER BUY ARLO Show details
I think everyone would like to hear back from Arlo. A lot of people have spent a lot of money on these Arlo products and are not happy. A response from Arlo would be appreciated. This was a big purchase for us and the system is not fit for purpose.
Not fit for purpose – Bought a twin pack of cameras to supplement existing system. In less than a year the charging points have corroded and they will not charge. Product is not fit for purpose. Show details
Failed to get Arlo cameras working – I bought four cameras but almost two weeks and several support calls later. I was simply unable to connect the cameras to our wi-fi network. The suspicion was that the issue lay with our router. Checked the router configuration and other related settings with network provider and all seemed ok. At this point, I decided to give up because I didn't… Read more
want to miss out on the 30 day money back guarantee. So a return was organised very efficiently and quickly via courier and money was refunded within 7 days.
Kudos though to Arlo support staff. They did try their hardest to help. But as anyone knows who has been an IT support person, over the phone support can be very challenging. I also noted that their tech staff had an interface that did not align with my apps interface, which added to the confusion.
Following the refund I bought two Eufy cameras that connected within a few minutes. I then bought another four Eufy cameras and one year later, I cannot find any fault with them. They do the job as described on the tin.
Works well, fast, responsive – We’ve got 5 of these including a wireless doorbell. Except the doorbell, the rest are connected to solar chargers, running 24 hours. With motion detected, they can be set up to zoom in as well. Never have any charging worries. Support is very good. Show details
Do not buy this product – Facing issues with audio. On top of that if you have more than one camera you will be forced to pay hundreds of dollars to have cloud storage. Stay away. I have posted the 2 most recent videos. All videos and live feed sound the same. Show details
ARLO Essential Spotlight Security Cameras – Have just installed 3 of these cameras. They have an excellent HD picture, easy to set up and are wireless. They connect quickly via Wifi, so don't even need a base. All movement alerts come to my phone and are kept for 30 days in the cloud. A great way to set up a complete home security system around your house. Very please with them! Show details
Meh - not worth the retail price – I recently got a pair of the Arlo Pro 4 Wire-Free 2K HDR Spotlight Cameras. I had planned on getting them a while ago but after doing research I decided a hard-wired system would be better for my needs. These are around $2500 but before I had the available cash I received a bunch of Bunnings vouchers so decided to grab the Arlo’s. They are ok… Read more
at basic surveillance in a low-crime area. But really dissapointing when compared to the expectations they set, namely:
- 6 month battery life is laughable- maybe if you keep them in a black box, mine are at just over 50% after 3 days - though with lots of use as I have been testing the max settings, spotlight activation etc. I reckon once I have them set I’ll be getting a month out of them tops. So, if you are putting them up high or in a difficult-to-access spot you’ll need a solar panel which adds around $100 per camera.
- Spotlight- a big reason I went with these is because of the in-built sensor spotlight. They do work but only have a limited range. They say 6 metres but it's a really narrow activation field so will only be triggered in a small arc in front of the camera. They have to be aimed right at where someone would walk. Without the light activated the camera is useless at night without other light sources, so it’s important it is triggered.
- Build quality- very good, they’re nice and chunky, and look great.
- Camera quality- as is normal for wireless, it’s not good not terrible. You can make things out, but it takes around 4 seconds to begin recording and longer to get the alert, so you’ll get alerts, and the person will already be halfway up the driveway or even walking away. It also misses things, just this morning the camera sent an alert when my partner left the house but didn’t show that I left the house. So, there are things they simply miss.
- App and settings are a pain, not user-friendly at all and you have to spend far more time than you should trying to set things up. I still haven’t figured out how to stop nonperson related alerts spamming my phone. I ignored criticism of the app and user interface but it really is a frustrating issue. For instance, you can set camera sensitivity on a scale of 1 to 100 but there is no information about what this actually means. It's all lazily presented and poorly thought out.
- Don’t forget it’s a subscription service, you will have to pay monthly or yearly for the cameras to be useful.
- Also don’t forget that some of the features, like 3-second playback and setting activity zones are not available if you’re wireless or even connected to a solar panel.
Overall, they’re better than nothing if you’re in a low-crime area. If I had paid the $680 odd retail I would be really, really, really disappointed, especially as I’ll probably have to drop another $200 on solar panels as I have them in hard-to-reach locations.
If you get them used or cheap go for it. But if you’re looking at spending more than $600 on these things and actually want good security, I would strongly encourage people to save a bit longer and get a wired-in system and a specialist sensor light with a wide activation field.
False advertisement! Battery only lasted one week! – Very very disappointed with this buy. The battery was advertised to last up to 6 months but mine died after one week. To make it worst, the battery won’t charged! I was given a faulty battery or the charger do not work. The last two weeks it’s a battle to get a straight and helpful answer from Arlo’s technical support. They keep sending me… Read more
template responses without reading my messages. Different people answer my messages each time which is very frustrating so I keep re explaining my concern again and again and again. It’s been almost three weeks and I still have a faulty camera. I have asked for a refund but I’m told to pay for the shipping fee to return the product! Ha!! Please send give me my money back!!!!
Rubbish product – Our Arlo Pro 4 just drops out time and time again with vey strong WI Fi modem is only 20 meters away..it’s a useless product Show details
The product is not so bad, but the cashback is impossible – I purchased the product direct from the Arlo website, the cameras are not too bad. Cashback! I sent them the Invoice Arlo sent me, this was dis-allowed I sent them the delivery slip dis-allowed. I have nothing more, they would not have sent me the product if I have not paid. Total waste of time and money. Show details
Avoid! – Bought 4*Pro 4 Poor: Battery charging& draining issue Poor: I tried to replace the camera or get a refund. So far it has taken months. They ask you to do a variety of sensible checks charge, recharge, turn on power save, give details of distance to camera (3 metres!), temperature etc etc.. Despite doing all this the follow up is not to replace the… Read more
faulty camera but to request multiple additional checks that their QA should have done. They then closed the case and said it was resolved when it was not.
DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT
This stuff is rubbish – I got a pack of two of these from a retailer. There was no mention of ongoing fees to make them usable. After three months they tell you you have to pay monthly subs. Then one of the battery systems just stop charging. Seriously, don't buy. Show details

Expensive sensor light – For over a month now can't view any recordings in cloud storage or local storage. In the local storage it says, There was a error obtaining your library. Arlo team is working on the issue. Been the same message for about a month now. i don't think they actually plan on fixing it Show details
Will not work properly with a Samsung S10 or A30 phone – Overall the camera worked well but the advertised 2 way audio never worked. Customer support was not helpful at all. I spent weeks communicating online and by telephone and the most common advice was “press the microphone button”. In the end, the store manager where I purchased it visited my home twice to personally check the system which… Read more
worked on his phone but not mine. Finally, he realised that the system does not work properly with a Samsung S10 or A30 phone. That should have been made clear to me before I even purchased the product.
Awful product and even worse support – I purchased a Arlo Pro 4 Wire-Free 2K HDR Spotlight Camera 4 Pack in May 2021 and the cameras seemed stable for a couple of months. Then they started randomly disconnecting from my wi fi. None of my other devices were experiencing problems and I logged the issues with Arlo. I logged a support case with Arlo and a month later they still haven't… Read more
been able to help me and keep asking the same questions - as if they never review my answers. Very frustrating when this product cost me nearly $1300.
Offline more than online – Purchased a 3 kit set after being very satisfied with the Arlo Essential Indoor wired camera. I had trouble from the start. One camera refused to accept the firmware update and was always offline from then on. The other cameras would be online for a while, but would eventually (usually within 2 - 12 hours) go offline and no amount of playing with… Read more
the settings would bring them back. Only by holding down the physical sync button would bring them back online, for a short time.
The only thing I didn't get to try to resolve (before I sent them back) was turning off the extra 2.4GHz wifi SSD's to see if this was confusing them - but the 2 x essential indoor cameras were not affected by the wifi (they were in the same house as the Pro 4's)
Very disappointing.
