terrible, very rarely opens straight away. After a few attempts it might work or just stop working altogether. Events recorded hardly open straight away, sometimes never, with the intention of security cameras thats pretty poor. The door bell takes so long to open whoever rang it is normally gone by the time it decides to work. Motion settings are useless, I've changed to the lowest setting and they have been on human only the entire time and still just constantly go off with Motion detected, almost never anything there. Turning off notifications for individual cameras is impossible. I use homebase2 but might get homebase3 if that will fix these problems but I doubt it. I have a door bell aswell.

Overall, I think the product does what it's intended and for the price compared to well known brand such as Eufy, it is pretty decent.

other similar products but I am a bit surprised by the negative reviews here. I found it easy to set up with the app and in my opinion it mostly has a "just right" feature set. Specifically, it waits to detect motion and then captures a minute of video and sends you an alert. You can also go to the app or website and view the camera live. You can set it to take a photo every few minutes or hour. You can also turn on a "siren" (which is a bit of a joke, it's not very loud) and talk through the camera.
In our case, this is perfect. I don't want constant video feed, I just need to know if something happens. I want to keep bandwidth usage down because this might end up being on a mobile broadband with somewhat limited data. So the way these work seems perfect to me.
A lot of reviews complain about the subscription. I guess I'm not sure how anyone could not know about that, but yes, it's an ongoing monthly or yearly fee. I'm still on the trial but will just sign up for the $150/year plan. Like anything, factor it in before making a purchasing decision. I decided the convenience was worth the cost, ymmv.
Some reviewers complain about motion detection - the settings are quite adjustable here, you can tell it where in the field of view to check for motion, and whether it looks only for a person, person or vehicle, or any movement. There's also a sensitivity setting. The only one I've had to adjust so far is the doorbell, which is not the item in this review anyway. There's a slight delay before the captured video starts but I think it's still effective.
The cameras can only record over the Internet, which is fine with me, I don't think I want to muck around with SD cards.
Initially I thought it wasn't possible to just disable and re-enable all cameras easily i.e. single click. It turns out that it is, but you have to specifically turn on "Modes" in the app. I'm not sure why this isn't on by default, but anyway, the feature is there and it works great once you figure it out.
Right now a 4-pack of these is $249 or $62.50 each, so even after you factor in the subscription, this seems like pretty good value to me, without having to muck about with cables, SD cards or a local server or whatever.
[Update] However, one caution, which is that Ring is kind of a sh***y company to deal with. After buying a bunch of things from them over the last few months, they just cancelled an order with no explanation. When I called, I got told things like there was a problem with my payment method - never mind that the exact same payment method was perfectly fine for them a few weeks earlier. I get the impression their support don't really have a clue and are just feeding me a generic line about "problem with the payment method." Ordered again with a different payment method - cancelled again. Same line from Ring support. It's just really weird and annoying, so at this point I'd have to say look into other brands, maybe Reolink, who have a better selection and more advanced cameras anyway.

purchased another identical camera one year later for the main bedroom to keep an eye on baby who co-sleeps with me but goes to bed many hours before I do. Included in the box is the power supply and a bracket attachment. I use the bracket in the nursery mounting the camera upside down. In the main bed, it just sits in normal upright position on the bed post of the solid timber bed. Built quality is solid. Firstly, setting up the camera through its Android app is super easy. It connected to my home wi-fi very easily. Once putting the camera in position, it is easy to fine tune its position by tilting and panning via the app. The camera can be mirrored for upside down mounting. I do not use a memory card in the card slot. I set the cameras up in my home security camera system NVR to record on the main hard drive along with all the other cameras mounted around the house. ONVIF protocol in these Tapo cameras allow you to connect to any compatible systems - most open source systems these days are up to date with all these protocols. I can view the cameras on the Tapo app or use my whole house camera monitoring app to view all the cameras. The Tapo app offers more settings adjustment and personalisation. There are no ads in the app like cheaper similar cameras that I have set up for other people. The camera quality is very good. Whether bright light or in infra-red low light mode, the picture is detailed and well balanced with the HDR processing. The QHD resolution is plenty enough for these room cameras but I use 4k fixed cameras outside. There are alerts that pop up on my phone if the camera detects sound or movement so when baby cries or stands up in her cot, I get notified. Updating firmware when required goes very smoothly. I really like these cameras and would think the whole Tapo range would be great also, although I haven't tried any of the other cameras from the range.

camera inoperable and we had it replaced. We don't jump to the first chance of upgrading firmware anymore. This copy has been reliable and my dogs haven't destroyed it. That says something.
No, it is not for outdoors, it is not vandal proof, it is a bit bulky. But on the plus side, there are plenty of them! It tilts-n-pans. You can preset several camera positions and jump to them quickly. It records to microSD card, it is backed by mobile app and we can watch it anywhere. It can take still snaps or videos clips, it can do two-way audio. Of course the sound volume straight out of the camera is low and sounds like an old telephone. But I have conversed with my wife using it before. It does work. It doesn't auto focus, nor does it do optical zoom. But given its small sensor, depth of view is pretty big and is good enough for indoors. It is HD but not full HD, limited at 720p. It does audio and motion detection and it does email notification.
We are very happy with it. If it wasn't because we had to return the first copy and firmware issues we had at the beginning, I would have given it 5 stars. It is not small like some of the newer products in the market. So it isn't inconspicuous.

There relpy from the misleading info on the box; Thanks for trying but being disabled and poor makes money the first thing in my decisions. A free hub would help but 3 free months free sub will bring me to the same problem in 4 mths time. The best i could do is sell the 4 cams and review/ blog to warn others before they waste their money too. My front box says free motion alerts. This would help to get a motion picture of the alert but i dont have this (left row, 2nd point). I understood this point to still give me vid motion alerts. How can a un-sub'd user use this system for security purposes, police cant see anything if there is a problem for me living remote and alone.

this camera it was able to send push notifications through the APP AND also could send an image when motion /sound detected to my email address.
This was the reason I chose the camera - I used it to check on my cat when I was away for the day, I could check my emails and see an email with images attached showing my cat had accessed her food bowl. This was also handy as I was concerned that perhaps a stray cat had been accessing my property . I didnt want to be bothered in the middle of the night but was very happy to access the next morning for peace of mind .
Things changed this year - I no longer received email messages with pics attached ;[
I tried through the dlink website to trouble shoot to no avail
Then I sent D Link a message they were quick with response - my updated MAC coputer could not now access the dlink portal - I tried every thing they suggested - installing outdated firefox apps and trying to install the plug ins they sent me nothing worked !!!
I rang their help centre today the contact was very very helpful. He tried really hard but he said the problem was that flash player had been deactivated and because that was how the camera settings was accessed I could not change the camera settings ,??? double dutch to me but basically how the camera used to work due to upgrade functionality was now down graded
I am at a loss to see how something I purchased because of its functionality can then have its functionality downgraded and made obsolete. All is not lost my help centre contact really tried to help to reconfigure the settings on my camera but this required me disclosing email password something I was uncomfortable to provide ,
Summary something that works when you buy it nay be rendered obsolete for no reason!!

Eufy have replaced all 4 of the cameras in my kit, and today I now have a 5th camera (one that Eufy sent me as a replacement).
Camera 1 (replaced): sudden unexplained drop in battery level, camera ‘offline’ status on app. Camera accepted recharge and app shows battery full, but unable to play live video on the app, and unable to get any notification. Camera completely useless. Eufy replaced with a new one. Camera 2 (replaced): cloudy weather in Brisbane with lots of wind gusts, camera pointed at tree which normally not an issue but under heavy wind detected movement and drained the battery to flat (we happened to be away during this time). Once completely flat, battery is DEAD and wont accept recharging by cable, camera completely unresponsive. Eufy replaced with a new one. Camera 3 (replaced): Similar to camera 2 above, lots of activity in backyard/pool over Christmas due to family visiting with kids, camera battery drained within 3 days. Plenty of sun thought nothing of it as solar panel should recharge it. Camera went offline on the app, and fails to reconnect. Recharged by USB-C cable (indicator lights flashing so camera is responding) app fails to connect. Removed it from the app to re-add it per suggestion from Eufy troubleshooting, follow the pairing procedure but fails to pair with the app – most likely because the camera still thinks it is paired to a HomeBase but the HomeBase has the camera removed. Seems to be a communication issue between the two. Eufy replaced. Camera 4 (replaced): sudden unexplained draining of the battery. Fails to recharge via solar or USB-C. Eufy App says camera is offline and to refresh. Refresh does nothing as camera is dead. Eufy replaced. Camera 5 (one of the replacements Eufy sent me): positioned at front door under an awning sheltered from sun and rain – manual recharging by USB-C required which I was ok with. I had to recharge the camera once manually after watching the battery level, completely paranoid about low battery and then it dropping off connection from HomeBase like the others… then yesterday, despite healthy battery level, camera suddenly goes into offline mode on the app. Took it down to recharge via USB-C cable… nothing… camera is dead, no lights flashing, pressing reset buttons does nothing etc. Tried multiple USB-C cables and different adaptors. Left it exposed to direct sunlight to try recharve via solar. Nothing, camera is dead.
This product is absolutely appalling. I rarely write negative reviews but feel compelled to inform the community about this product and its flaws per my experince and would recommend to direct anyone reading this review to an alternative product. I would expect with a price tag $1400 at the time that the product would work for more than what I have got out of it. I will be raising this with the ACCC as a formal complaint, I feel like I have been robbed and regret my purchase. Eufy support have provided replacement cameras but informed me that I am now out of warranty.

which erases everything it has recorded. We have tried multiple cards, same issue. I put the cards in my PC, all the videos are there and there are no faults, the problem is the camera. Its a common issue for all Uniden products. Next, the camera starts recording 5-6 seconds after something large moves across the viewing area within 5 metres but not if theyre walking straight toward it, so yes, it misses everything. The only thing it is good for is live view, but even then you have to click a button every 20 mins to keep it streaming, and then the battery will only last half a day. Night vision is ok, not amazing. You can get face detail if they are looking straight at it from 1m distance. Misleading in ability. Only detects in one direction and THEN pans IF it detects something. No auto pan or intermittent pan on selected locations.… Read more
This is even misleading on the setup where it allows you to set 4 areas to pan to with one as default.
Device is reliant on both hardware and software. Software that has to run perpetually on your mobile device with complete battery usage and no battery limitations. ie You phone is going to drain constantly just to have this working. That is if it is working. Despite these setups the detection didn't work and accessing the open app had huge lag as the app itself wasnt working in the background.
Was able to access the camera on site and remotely the first day. Second day, device offline. The only time I ever got alerts for movement was putting it up and taking it down.
If you magically get that all to work keep note that this is reliant on software so it requires both constant and good quality updates to be able to work with your phone...while it bleeds the battery.

ratings, pretty good feedback, and was priced well, around AUD$80 for two cameras. Once they arrived, one had a faulty power adaptor, the seller responded quickly and within a week they sent a replacement. Setting up the camera was pretty straight forward, it had a Q code which made it pretty easy. Once I set up both cameras I discovered that without a subscription, the cameras was pretty pointless. So I signed up one camera for 3 months to see how they worked.
With a subscription, the camera is great, it senses movement, sends you an alert, and you can view the footage and download it to your phone. However, without a subscription, all you get is the alert and a tiny thumbnail with no detail visible. When you try to play the video, you are directed to buy a subscription. So, you can use the camera without paying, and you will get an alert, but you cannot see what set the camera off unless you install an SD card into each camera. Then you can view the footage. Once the SD card fills up, oldest footage gets deleted. So either chose a less space gobbling recording setting, like 720 instead of 1080, and buy a 64Gb SD card.
Also, I found the cloud option with the subscription is very handy, and works well, however the amount of data uploaded was gigabytes from a little wind storm and decimated my data allowance on the internet account. So I bought a 128gb SD card to install in the camera. Doing this saves footage to the camera's SD card, no need for the cloud. So how much is the subscription? I am charged AUD$4.80 per month for one camera, AUD$8.99 for two cameras, and AUD$13 for 3 cameras per month. So AUD$107 for two cameras a year. It is a good camera, night vision is really good, so far they have not missed a beat... but with Alfred x camera I am paying AUD$45 a year for as many smart phones I can connect. With Imou I am essentially renting each camera. Yet for around $300, one off price, I could have bought some standalone cameras and a recorder... sigh.
For people that don't mind paying per month, Imou is a good system and offers a good service, or if you want to buy an SD card for each camera instead, then Imou becomes good value.

much of a problem. By 2026, however, I decided I have had enough of Anran’s rubbish. It’s a company that uses the cameras as a free platform for advertising in a person’s private space. They’ll squeeze into your "Space Viewing", telling you to “Purchase Cloud” at a monthly fee of X amount of $???? And jam your system with rubbish, where a person has to work around their religious rubbish like Halloween etc... It’s a system that cannot be unsubscribed from. I agree with some of the previous reviews, the company must be intercepting, using the cameras as a spy tool, if they know a person, like me, isn't using Cloud. Any security device I purchase now days, has to be standalone with no hidden fees or agender.
