The cooktop itself worked well until a crack developed on the glass top within warranty period. A very expensive appliance should not develop a random crack for no reason, my old Westinghouse was 25 years old and although it was scratched, it never cracked. After taking Asko a week to approve a warranty repair I thought my troubles were over but this was only the start. They also needed to be pushed every day to give me an answer.
Problem is Asko does not have a repairer for Shoalhaven area. They wasted my (and the repairers') time sending the job to two repairers who don't service Shoalhaven. Noone bothered to communicate this fact either, and when I found out Asko then asked me to suggest a repairer to them! A company selling expensive products with warranty should have a repairer network, it should not be my problem to find a repairer, but I did, through a 5-second google search, which they could have done themselves. I now suspect the reason no repairer works for them is because they are bad to deal with.
The "repairer" turned out to be absolutely hopeless and rarely answered their phone or replied to text messages. The only three text messages I got told me the parts were on the way and I would be called soon. Nope. Asko told me the replacement part had been shipped but it turned out the repairer still hadn't ordered a part after a few weeks. Asko is not interested in supporting their customers, and when I went back to them they kept pushing me back to the repairer, even though it is clear the repairer is useless. After a month I still have no repair and no answer when it might happen. I will never buy Asko appliance again, and will tell everyone I know my story. They have had plenty of chances to resolve this but instead choose to block and obfuscate.
Purchased in at Harvey Norman for $2,199.
Disappointing Experience – This is my third ASKO induction cooktop- they all overheat and the electronic panel fails. This one lasted 6 months before only the two front sections worked- doesn't bridge and it heats unevenly. Dealing with ASKO is also difficult. I Will not purchase again.
Glass crack after five months – Been using Miele all the time for my kitchen appliances, want to give ASKO a try this time. Learnt very expensive lesson, the glasses on the surface cracks after only five months. We didn't drop anything on the surface. Contacted ASKO immediately, took them 2 weeks to send a technician to inspect, another 3 weeks to generate a report says this is not covered by warranty " as there is nothing in the normal working of the cooktop that could have caused this crack".
Spent over $2000 on this and only be able to use it for 5 months.
Very disappointed, will never buy ASKO again.
