We recently purchased a new ASKO induction cooktop as part of a kitchen refurbishment. We have purchased Asko dishwashers in the past and have been very satisfied with the brand. We expected the same from the induction cooktop. The cooktop took around 5 mins to boil a pot of pasta water, whereas our previous and cheaper Bosch induction cooktop boiled water in about 90 seconds and the (much cheaper) Westinghouse induction cooktop we inherited with the house (same power supply) took only a couple of minutes. In addition, it was impossible to get a rolling boil going on the Asko cooktop. It seemed to boil, stop, surge, boil again, stop, surge etc. We were using the same high quality pans we used on our previous cooktops.

The controls were impossible to use if there was any moisture or grime tpresenting itself during the cooking process. This meant we had to stop cooking to clean the cooktop in order to change the cooktop temperature.

The variations between the temperature controller units were wildly inconsistent. For example, the cooktop seemed unusable below '5' due to negligible power across the '1' to '5' range. Conversely, the temperature surged between '5' and '9'. 'Boil' turned off after a short time, before the water had boiled. In a nutshell, input to the sliders was imprecise and inconsistent.

The Asko cooktop was a terrible disappointment and not what we were expecting from a premium brand.

We returned the cooktop and ASKO are yet to refund the product price and their after sales team have been terrible. Looks like I'll have to seek legal recourse. Be careful.
