Asko wall oven OP 8620 - many issues – We purchased an Asko OP 8620 pyro oven for $2,099 in July 2012. We had a serviceman come out about 4-5 years ago to fix it as the oven would not heat up. As a result of that visit he replaced the heater element. Recently the oven would not heat up again and, again, the heater element was replace. He also replaced the spring loaded temperature… Read more

selection switch. This is where the problem started. The Asko main office (located I believe in New South Wales or Victoria) sent the incorrect part. The oven could not be repaired at my place therefore the technician took the oven to their works depot. After about 2 weeks it transpired that Asko had stopped making the temperature selection switch therefore anyone having the same problem as my oven would need to purchase another oven which is what we will need to do shortly. You may wonder why Asko OP 8620 has a rating of 1.5 out of 5. The old saying "the proof is in the pudding" is correct here. I would never recommend or buy another Asko product.

Rubbish Oven – We bought a house 6 months ago with an Asko OP8620 oven installed. Since we moved in, the oven has been doing strange things. Like beeping and turning itself on and off after we’ve used it. I can no longer use any function that involves the fan in the oven as it makes a terrible noise as metal scrapes on metal. Today I heated the oven to make… Read more

biscuits and it decided to do a Pyro clean instead. The door locked, it over heated and smelt like burning, and there was nothing I could do but turn it off and wait for it to cool. Is it stupid to think I should have it serviced? Judging by the other reviews, this oven is just rubbish.

never buy Asko – I paid $2099 for an Asko oven OP8620 which had a 12 month warranty so we paid extra for an extended warranty. This oven continually broke down. After 3 & a half years Asko finally agreed to replace the oven with a brand new next model oven. The first oven installed was faulty. the second oven installed was faulty. The third oven lasted 3 days. th… Read more

fourth oven lasted 2 & half years with constant problems. Asko tried to say that there was a problem with the electricity in my house! Just took it to the tip & bought an IKEA oven that has a 5 year warranty for $999. The best oven ever!

Terrible Oven – Oven has been going into pyro mode for some time whilst on a normal oven setting. This not only puts the heat up but it locks the door. Everyone thought they had accidentally selected the pyro mode however it has gotten alot worse very fast in the last week and last night was constant with the kids dinner stuck in the oven. Also fan issues as… Read more

per other complaints here. Even when turned off the door remains locked for a set period of time. Was talked into spending the money for a quality appliance by the retailer and even though the warranty is only 2 years, it should last a long time. Now to get someone to even just look at it will cost me over $200. Will never buy this brand again.

multiple faults within 3 years – Terrible build quality. Falling apart within 3 years. Never had issues like this with any other brand of oven. Was sold on the European "quality" but really not seeing it. Should have bought a cheaper oven which works. Regret buying this brand and will never buy another Asko product again.

Asko Op8620 Electronic Pyrolytic 2009 not built to last – My oven only 5 years old now is not working at all and needs a part that is going to cost alot of money to repair. The oven is very poor quality. The inside glass is not easy to take out and put back after cleaning the plastic parts are not strong. The oven door hinges were faulty and I could not open the door half way. Asko's logo states built… Read more

to last longer. When I bought the oven I was not expecting huge repair bills after only 5 years. I am extremely disappointed in Asko products.

It does not work

The Good & Bad – Cooked great.... but Was assembled with a steel fan... Using the pyrolytic function has caused it rust so much that it became paper thin & fell off shaft. I appreciate the extra iron suppliment to my food but would have also like a reply from the importer or retailer Less than 5 years is a bit off... Cooked great Assembled with a fan not suitable for oven type
