AstralPool VX Series Salt Chlorinator Questions & Answers

We have a Astral Pool VX Salt Chlorinator, recently the pool was going green shortly after adding chemicals (5 to 6 days),( we use Clark Rubber to test the water and supply chemicals). The controller has always been left on auto, with chlorine set to max level.The cell is approx 12 months old and has no build up on the plates. I checked the voltage to the cell, no voltage on auto setting, on manual setting voltage at the cell is 8V. The pump and chlorinator are on a timer, and it runs for 12 hours per day. I replaced the cell about 18 months ago, pool has been fine until a month or so ago. I select the manual mode, however when the timer starts up, the controller reverts to auto setting again.It is a pebble crete pool approx 40,000l capacity, we now have algae spots at the shallow end, and 4 areas around 1m each that are a dark green colour and unable to remove with algae brush.Any ideas would be appreciated.

Vx9t have owned this now for approx 5 years within the first 2 years we could no longer read the screen, had it replaced due to another defect. Once again the screen is unable to be ready, we had it covered to protect it from sunlight but it did not help. What can I do this is very bad quality!

My Astral VX Chlorinator switches off after a cycle and I have to reset it. Is there anyway I can rectify this?

What does it mean if your VX7T chlorinator is read 8-

my vx11s was just put in we can not get it to run in auto do i need to put in a timer how can it tell water flow

Astral vx control panal won't turn off via the auto , on , or off, ??

Hi, my VX salt chlorinator timers are not working. When on Auto and timers are showing as set, the system is not turning off when it should. It constantly says sanitising pool till 21:00. So it seems to run and never turn off if in Auto.

My VX Salt Chlorinator is not functioning in Timer mode nor in the ON position. It keeps showing BACKWASH 2 mins which I have done a few times. I would appreciate some advise please. I can send a picture. TIA Jose

I am having a problem with my Astral VX7T Chlorinator, in that it only shows it is producing Chlorine at +1, even when it is set at the highest setting, which should get up to +8. Maybe a reset would help? Any suggestions gratefully accepted. Cheers-Peter Reid

I have noticed all the Green Lights on the chlorination are flashing, not all the time, but every now and again. I had the water tested and it needed Buffer 1 kg, and 1 litre of acid, other than that the pool is clean , clear and great to swim in

we have the VW 11T for about 4 years for some reason its not producing chlorine something else we have replaced the cell and its still not improved the chlorine levels , its has 8 hour timings and 50,000 lt pool its still going green ?

I have an Astral VX7T unit that shows a "No Flow" light and switches the pump off after about 5 mins. There is plenty of flow through the cell, no airlock or bubbles of air. I have cleaned the cartridge filter, and the cell, and emptied the pump and skimmer baskets. But as soon as I switch the pump onto manual I hear it click in the control box and the Red No Flow light comes on. this happens before the pump even starts to turn. It then stays on even with the control box switched to the 'Off' position. I have checked the flow sensor in the cell, it appears to be in good condition, no leaking from the cell either. Do you have any ideas Astral?

Hello from the USA. We have a VX 11S-USA V3 Salt Chlorinator (Serial No.: 3VXUS11S081815377). Astralpool apparently no longer supplies the US market and we can't get service locally. This was manufactured in 2018. Not sure when it was installed, as the house and pool are new to us. The main pump is wired directly into the electrical panel box on the same breakers that power the chlorinator control. This unit does not have the three-pin socket as described in the only manual available online. It must be wired directly. The control often shows NO FLOW and LOW SALT and has not been properly chlorinating the whole season. I am trying to figure out if the chlorinator cell is bad or if the pcb is bad and trying to figure out if everything is wired correctly. Is there a specific wiring diagram and technical information available? The board is well labeled but things like having a one-spade MAINS A connection on the switch relay and a one-spade MAINS N on the board are confusing, since this is a 240v supply which should have a 4-wire cable. It is wired with a 3-wire cable (2 positive, 1 ground) and that means they have power going to both the A and N spades. Astralpool's contact is impossible for me given the different time zones and they only offer chat or call. I would appreciate any help that I can get. Thank you.

Have a weird problem with brand new VX7 Chlorinator not producing enough chlorine. It is set to max of 8 and tells me it is running at 8. It auto runs for 2 x 4 hours yet the chlorine cannot get above 1.0. (I have even run it for 8 hours straight with same result). Salt levels are over 5000. Fluidra tech came yesterday and replaced cell but said reading for both were the same offered no other clues other than he thought my pool was over 45,000 litres (I disagree), Stabiliser needed (its September!!) and a pool blanket (!!!). The old chlorinator I replaced was a 10 year old Chloromatic ESR160 rated at 16grams chlorine per hour and it worked fine at half setting. The VX7 is rated at 25grams per hour chlorine BUT one interesting point is the manual says it runs at optimum water temperature of 27 degrees. My pool is currently 18 degrees as it is a newly repainted and filled old concrete pool here in Perth. What concrete pool has 27 degrees water in September? Any suggestions welcomed as my supplier, trusted pool shop and another pool shop are stunned it is not producing TOO MUCH chlorine set at 8.
