Been using it for years – Purchased for when I started university and has been super hand the whole time. Perfect for notes and programming. Now that I've finished uni I use it plugged into a TV for watchin movies, tv, YouTube etc and also have it set up with controllers so it's like a console. 10/10 fantastic little thing, just showing its age a bit now Show details

I don't mind it. Had it for ~2 years now – T100H (Win 8.1 upgraded to W10) Use it a lot, when travelling, only issue's I've had (out of box - little LED monitor bleed - 1 corner, and a faulty charger, charger was replaced under warranty) Battery life's fairly good still 7hrs+ watching vids Also I carry a 20000mAh power bank which will charge this ~x2 over Best of all this model is cheap… Read more

cheap cheap ~300AUD when I got it. Cheaper now

What I hate about this is the lack of storage (64gb eMMC ~30gb usable) and worse thing... The micro sd doesn't sit flush and sticks out a tad , funny enough, I've had two cards get damaged because of this :/ so you have to be careful.

I may buy a new one, now that this one is old (depends on what else is available at the time I'm looking)

For now it's serving its purpose and working fine (flight entertainment for when flight movies are crap lol)

Thank Goodness they discontinued this model, BUT similar products are still offered - BEWARE! – We bought one of the early models when it was introduced. Purpose was to replace a heavier laptop used on business trips. From Day One, it has been a problem with system updates, running out of system memory. It was returned to Asus once, and came back with its dedicated Windows partition abandoned. Windows system now installed on the 32 GB… Read more

solid state drive. This caused reduced application space for future Windows updates and user programs. What I have now is a Windows based tablet, good enough for Web browsing only. Just stay away from these budget Windows tablets with only 32 GB of user memory!

Good product, short life – I enjoyed my Asus Transformer, great idea especially for its time. After a year of use, the keyboard and mouse completely stopped working so the additional plugin was almost useless. While it was functional was great for school and if given a longer warranty could be an appropriate purchase, I hope later models are more durable and reliable.  Show details

My needs were basic and yet it failed miserably – If only the warranty was 24 months not 12. I bought this device thinking it would be handy for spur of the moment web browsing, taking away on trips and passing around to show photographs to family, etc. It didn't need to do much so I thought it was a safe purchase to make without any special research. The first device failed upon boot up and was… Read more

replaced by the retailer. I thought this was just an isolated occurrence. The second device seemed fine but it wasn't long before the keyboard become unresponsive. It turned out that the screen to body connection could be temperamental so I decided to avoid detaching the screen for fear of having it fail completely. Later on, the device started to freeze more often and fail to respond to the keyboard mouse clicks. The device came with factory-installed Windows 8 and a free Windows 10 upgrade straight out of the box. This all went fine and the subsequent automatic updates all installed without any problem until the last major update. It declared that there was insufficient free disk space to install the update and that it needed another 5G. I found this odd because I had nothing extra installed or stored on the device. It was then that I found that the disk space was so small that the standard Windows 10 installation left very little space remaining. Now I’m locked to my current version of Windows 10 and the device consistently bugs me to free up some space and complete the upgrade. I’m constantly reminded of how bad the product is and wish that I had read these reviews before I wasted my money on this device. Expensive lesson this one.

Super helpful, use it all the time – I have had this for years it is still bug free, the screen is still intact and the battery life is awesome. I use it during the day at university, it does everything I need and is way lighter than my laptop. My charger did break once but I have never had a problem with the actual tablet.  Show details

trashiest purchase ever – if i could rate it 0 i would. Extremely slow, touch pad does not even work after 1 week of purchase, takes forever to turn the device on and get the system ready, charger won't even charge sometimes, the automatic clock does not even work properly. Got it on sale for 250 dollars, still was not worth it.  Show details

The design is good - still working after 2 years – I bought this for my daughter's uni study. After 1 year she is not using it any more. So I took it for casual use for more than a year. Still good except that this may break apart with slightl ystrong impact as the materials used do not seem to be robust. Mine has a little corner chipped from my daughter's use.I am lucky that it is still running… Read more

strong and keyboard is responsive.

For office, internet surfing and playing video - it does the job well. It gets slowed down with a few applications opened in the background but it is bearable.

I can't say anything about ASUS customer service for this T100. But they had a service centre in Sydney and normally I need to wait for a week or 2 to get repair done for my previous laptop.

absolute rubbish – Have to constantly battle with losing the cursor when using internet. Service from this company is non existant, if you have a problem with an asus product they will blame everyone else for e.g.it's a problem with windows ring them. grrrr I have have no cursor now while writing this so I iwill have to shut down and restart to get it back. … Read more

absolute rubbish

will never buy asus again. simply because of the service and the lack of interest regarding fixing problems for their customers.

Good but faces complications – This product is certainly handy but faces complications with broken keyboards and other internal problems after a short time. After my tablet shut down totally I reached out to the company for help. I had written in the box sent that the memory was not to be erased as I had no backup of my files only to receive a working tablet with no memory.  Show details

Bad Computer – I've used a T100 for school purposes and I have deeply regretted it. Although it was small and portable and had a long battery life, touchscreen had been broken and I had to use my keyboard and mouse. The touchpad became unglued and was coming out because it was structurally the worst touchpad ever. Then the keyboard's connectors started playing… Read more

up and the keyboard stopped responding with the message: "USB Device Not Recognised" and the touchpad went on the fritz so I had to use an external mouse and since there's only one USB port, I had to use a USB Hub if I wanted to plug in a USB device. And since the keyboard became completely disconnected whenever I tilted my tablet upwards, one of my USBs now has a problem, which has been indicated by numerous computers.

Now I have a new and proper laptop and that's what I'm using to write this review. To me, getting this new tablet is freedom - freedom from having to prop my tablet in a downward angle just to get it to work and having to bend over just to see the screen and also freedom from having to constantly set it up with an external mouse and all that.

This new laptop is a Lenovo. I'm never getting ASUS stuff again.

EDIT: The ASUS T100 has apparently been discontinued. Let's hope that we never have to be met with a disaster like that ever again. A good computer lasts. I have one that's as old as me and it still works, albeit it being as slow as a wet week.

Sorry I bought it – After extensive research I bought an ASUS Transformer T-100-HA because of its features (tablet/netbook, Windows 10, front and rear cameras). First one did not switch on - faulty switch. Harvey Norman replaced without question. Second one switched on but camera images (back and front) were upside down. After much Internet searching I found download… Read more

that fixed this problem. This did not, however, fix the problem when using Skype. My picture is still upside down which has amused my friends in the US but makes Skype essentially unusable. Downloads from ASUS support site did not fix the problem (and, by the way, suggestion to use Manycam also didn't work). Several phone calls and emails to ASUS and still no solution. In the last phone call ASUS were most unhelpful suggesting it was a problem with Skype. Yes, I've tried Skype site but to no avail. Funny that I've never experienced a 'Skype' problem with HP, Apple, Samsung, ZTE or Acer!

Also interesting that ASUS didn't want to poll my views on their product. This was my first and is my last ASUS product.

Build Quality lets down otherwise good product – We bought the machine for our daughter in December 2015 ready for her school year. Machine worked great until mid-Jan when we started having trouble charging it. Asus asked Harvey Norman to replace our unit with a new one. All good. 3 months in and the new one is not charging again because the microUSB port is too loose on the plug. The… Read more

magnetic charger of Macs and Surface Pros are far more reliable than the flimsy microUSB charging port on the ASUS. If it can't charge you can't use it. Despite us buying an impact resistant cover, the screen has cracked and more recently pieces of the glass have started falling out. Overall the CPU, hardrive, keyboard and touchpad are all great and the weight is awesomely light. But overall the machine is far too fragile and doesn't last in the real world.

Save your money, stay away from Asus altogether! !! – I purchased the Asus Transfomrmer Book T100 in September 2015. Till this day it has been taken to Asus repair center three times because it doesn't turn on once the battery dies. It refuses to charge. I have asked Asus for a refund, horrible responses....all they do is keep on repairing it and sending it back with the same faults on it...they do a… Read more

quick fix and hope for the best. My transformer has been in the repair center more then it has been in my possession. They are not giving me a refund as I asked...nor are they giving a new replacement, so am stuck with a faulty product that can't even turn on!?!? DO NOT buy it, save yourself the headache and bad customer service experience, because that's all you will get from the Asus transformer T101! NEVER BUYING ANYTHING ASUS AGAIN!!!!

Stay Away – This tablet has struggled with the simplest of tasks from the very start, and completely stopped working after 5 months. Before this, it frequently refused to turn on, forced updates at inconvenient times and then shut down for hours, and constantly advertised upgrades of virus protection and Microsoft Office with annoying pop-ups. I simply… Read more

wanted a device to use Word on but it couldn't even cope with this. There was a frequent 3 second delay in typing even though the memory was practically full, and it would fail to open and save documents.

Battery life is a joke - it will drain in a matter of hours. If the battery completely drains, apparently there is 'no way' to recharge it, and you've lost your tablet. This has just happened to me, after 5 months of use.

You can not use other chargers - only the specified Asus one - if you accidentally use another one, your battery will drain and you will lose your tablet.

This is perhaps the worst product I have ever bought.

Cannot recommend – I bought two of these, one each for my twins. Both screens have cracks, one accidently dropped, one not. These are not covered under warranty. My sons mousepad has stopped working, and has had to be reset at least twice. Both my kids hate them. For the price would have expected to last at least two yrs.

Perfect sidepiece – I just love this product, typical Asus reliability. The battery lasts for hours and this allows me plenty of internet time. The CPU provides a very fast response time which makes for happy "computering" and because it is so light it is easy for me to take it everywhere I go. I can sit outside, down on the beach and do work or play.

Excellent product – This is my third asus device. All have been good products, but particularly the T100. Pros: -For the price range it has a very vivid and clear hd screen -Very portable product -For the specs I expected it to underperform, however it runs flawlessley so far -Battery life is outstanding Cons -It does have a small keyboard which can… Read more

Poor build quality – Product was purchased along with a quality aftermarket protective carry case to transport the unit and keep it free from damage. But within 6 months of usage at home and school the unit's screen was cracked when closed with a thumb in between the screen and keyboard. As Asus determine this fault to be physical damage and not covered by warranty… Read more

the only option is to pay and have the unit repaired.

Upon receiving a quote from Asus to replace the screen at almost the cost of an entirely new unit, ( new $500+ AUD, repair $400+ AUD) I have decided to use these funds to purchase a quality piece of equipment and mothball the Asus Transformer book.

Was great, for a while – This was a fantastic value hybrid 10 inch tablet laptop. Bought for $499 for my son. It came with Office Home and Student and runs the full Windows 8.1. The smaller text takes some getting used to, as does Windows 8 touch interface and tall adults might find the maximum screen angle slightly inadequate. Despite these things this machine runs… Read more

suprisingly well with enough power for most tasks and has great battery life in comparison to other tablets. I love the fact you can charge it with micro USB just like a phone or iPad, I haven't seen many if any other Windows machines that have this feature. It does seem to take a very long time to charge though. It has a good design, the screen bezel is just the right width to avoid troublesome fingers and has a very usable keyboard and mouse. 5 months in, the keyboard suddenly stopped working, followed by a constant cycle of blue screens and "Attempting Repair" and no option to fix. So sad :( Returning to store for refund ... Affordable, tablet and laptop in one, good build quality Placement of buttons a little questionable, Power button a little fiddly

Bad service from ASUS customer support – I just bought a cute ASUS T100TA notebook. But after activated the Officework from the computer, there is no Word, no Excel or other Officework file. I called Asus. The customer service has a very strong Indian accent. It took him more than 5 minutes to ask for my details. After I finally had chance to tell him the problem, he just said "You… Read more

should talk to Microsoft office as it is their software". He obviously sounded knowing nothing about the problem but good at pushing the problem away. I asked him to find someone who is more experienced and then he put me on hold for more than 10 minutes. That is always those Indian supports doing - they put you on hold without coming back to you at all.

The bad news after that is that I called Microsoft support and the phone was answered by another Indian support. This time is a lady and she kept telling me that I should go to ask Asus to fix the problem otherwise I have to pay at between $80 to $160 to fix the problem.

The reason I bought ASUS notebook is because there are some good reviews on the product. But my experience told me that the customer service is definitely rubbish. I will never suggest anyone to buy any electronics with proper technical support. My previous computers and notebooks are all with Dell. At least they can provide proper IT support. Good price, comes with a keyboard. Microsoft Office is not working and ASUS customer service is definitely rubbish

Love it – Received this for my birthday at the end of last year and still love it. Good unit -- at first – This little gem gave me the best of both worlds - a 10" touch screen tablet as well as a laptop with full-sized keyboard. There were definitely some issues when I first got it as the previous reviewer noted but as he said I did an internet/forum search and found that a bios update should fix it. Sure enough, a very simple bios update (I'm… Read more

technically minded too) and she was as good as gold. Takes a bit of getting used to Win8.1 over the Android stuff I also have but that's just a bit of a learning curve. Way easier to add in to existing networks and workgroups.

The only thing I don't like is the size, feel and operation of the external buttons - volumes, start and power. They cold have been designed better and maybe a bit better quality too. Much prefer my wife's Ipad buttons.

UPDATE 21/1/16:

Since writing my first review I have now had the unit for some time. In that time I have had to replace the screen at a cost of $170. Now the unit has major (known) issues with the wifi device built in - Broadcom Modem. The unit will sometimes not turn on or if on and in stand-by, will not resume and has to be switched off. Many problems now surfacing and if I had the time over I would NOT buy one of these again and would spend a bit more on a better quality brand/unit.

UPDATE 21/10/16:

This unit has niggly problems constantly. Whether some can be attributed to the Win10 upgrade or not I'm not sure, but mainly hardware issues. The touch screen will switch randomly so that when you touch the screen it is like right-clicking the mouse and it won't scroll. The unit now gets a little hot on the back when it's not being used and won't turn on normally - I have to "reset" the unit by pushing the power button in for 10 seconds, releasing then push it again. Seems to work normally when it is on though. I do complete backups every week now because I just know this thing is about to die. Won't by another Asus that's for sure! Hybrid unit that comes apart easily. Buttons not the best quality/feel.

Not such a good deal here; and mine has been in and out of warranty service – I bought one of these on a review in a US site stating it was one of the best windows 8 hybrid in terms of value for money. Value for money it is not in Australia, with the price $200 more than the US. When I got it, it had power button issues; the forums said a BIOS update would fix this. But I could not update the BIOS (I'm tecchie enough… Read more

that I can do this...done it may times). Had to go in to the service centre for them to update the BIOS. 20 days without laptop.

Now its back in Silverwater getting MORE warranty service. Three weeks after having returning it to me, it began shutting down unexpectedly. Hard shutdown...no warning. Junk. Hybrid design gives benefit of both tablet/laptop Poor hardware; numerous problems; warranty service turnaround way too slow.
