Bare Cremation is highly regarded for providing a compassionate, transparent, and affordable alternative to traditional funeral directors. Feedback indicates that the service is particularly effective for those seeking a simple, "no-fuss" process, supported by a user-friendly digital dashboard and empathetic staff. While the vast majority of experiences are positive, a small number of reviews highlight serious concerns regarding third-party contractors and administrative errors during the return of remains.

Bare Cremation is an excellent choice for families seeking a streamlined, respectful, and cost-effective cremation service with strong digital support. While the service is overwhelmingly praised for its compassion, potential users should ensure they communicate firm timelines for the return of ashes and clarify the handling of personal effects if third-party mortuaries are involved.
I recently engaged Bare to organise a direct cremation of a family member and was very impressed with their service. My funeral arranger, Tarah, was thoroughly professional, respectful, empathetic, and supportive through every step of the process. Her communication was excellent and between her and my initial contact there, Ruth, who supplied a… Read more
very clear and unambiguous quotation for the service, I had no hesitation in using this company over others I had approached. The service was timely in its delivery, exactly as communicated, and with no hidden or extra costs or charges. I highly commend Bare for the service it provided.

On the day of the service Craig was incredible. He was so caring compassionate and professional and made everything run seamlessly. The service didn’t miss a beat and everything was handled perfectly.
For a budget company you honestly could not tell at all. The service was 100 percent perfect and I am so grateful for how smoothly and beautifully everything was handled.
I highly recommend Bare Funerals to anyone going through such a difficult time
I can’t honestly say how grateful myself and my family are. The amount of kindness, support and compassion from everyone involved in helping make our beautiful sister Nickis funeral. Brodey and the others who were there on the day. His kindness and compassion really stood out and thank you for being there checking in on us. Your company is absolutely outstanding and I will be continuing to use this company in the future when unfortunately needed. Thank you again to all of you for everything x
I am a minister in the Anglican Church but my Dad didn't want a funeral. He wanted a simple cremation and Bare provided exactly what he wanted. They provided exactly what they promised and there was excellent support on offer. Straight forward, simple and easy. Highly recommended.
Our coordinator Becc was extremely helpful and made the process so easy following our mother’s passing. The dashboard was simple to use and covered everything and everyone we needed to contact at a push of the button
Bare Funerals stood out firstly because someone had mentioned I would save money. What I didn’t expect was just how much different they would be. Yes saved money but they empowered me to make decisions in my own time and within reason. We looked at short cuts to save money where possible but still wanted the very best for my mums last hurrah. … Read more
Our dedicated consultant Chelsey was so lovely and checked in regularly. I was not inundated with calls and decisions and everything went according to plan. Thank you Bare for being there at the worst time, to ease the burden without compromising the quality funeral mum deserved.
We lost our dad in July, he had very clear and concise instructions. Bare Funerals hit every instruction my dad had for his afterlife care. The cremations box was understatedly beautiful. Thank you bare for providing my dad with the most outstanding care. Would recommend to everyone and anyone. Such a hassle free experience at the worst of times.
From my initial phone conversation with Natalie, updates from Kay and finally ashes delivery to my home, I was very impressed by the compationate and professional way BARE conducted their service for my mother. I could see the progress of each stage on my dashboard link, which also included what steps needed to be done and what paperwork to deal… Read more
with, together with links to berevement support. It just made everything so much easier. The cost of everything was quoted upfront with no hidden costs afterwards. Highly recommended by me and my family!
Thank you for the care and compassion you showed during this sad and stressful time.
Bare were exactly what I needed at a very difficult time. From my first phone call, to the hand delivery of Mum’s ashes, they empathetically attended to all the legal and bureaucratic aspects which come and released us from that burden. I felt that they genuinely cared about my mum and my family. So grateful for all their support.

Natasha from Bare funerals was so supportive after the unexpected death of a family member. It was complicated by the fact that it occurred interstate resulting in a late flight and rush to hospital then a feeling of complete overwhelm and grief.… Read more
Natasha helped us through every step with clear communication and fair pricing. We were pleased with the organisation of the process including our desire to have ashes returned to us interstate in an urn of our choosing. Would highly recommend Bare for their transparency, prompt communication, support and understanding.
Follow-up · Pricing was fair-no up selling attempts which was refreshing. Urn was delivered interstate via Australia Post with tracking and updates given regularly. Was well packed and protected.
Simple & straightforward – We didn't have a prepaid funeral & my dad died unexpectedly. While waiting for police to give clearance to take the body away, I googled cremation. Bare was the answer to my prayers - a straightforward price for the simple arrangement my dad wanted.… Read more
Others had a whole range of prices & add ons which was way too complicated when you've just had a family member die. All the way through, it was quick action where they were able & keeping me informed as to what was happening & how long the Death Certificate would take to come through. I didn't even have to collect the ashes. Exactly what I was looking for. Photo of box ashes came in below. Thanks!
Follow-up · The ashes box was beautiful quality - the photos don't do it justice. I had a couple of phone calls in the weeks following from a very sympathetic man who explained the whole process very clearly & checked that I understood, asking if I had any questions. Couldn't recommend highly enough.

Overall we were very happy with Bare Funerals and the ease to organise everything over the website, via email and phone. brother’s body and organising the cremation.
There are a couple of points I would make.
If you need the ashes in a specific time, make sure you let them know that. I think they say that ashes are returned in 2-3 weeks so we thought having a memorial 4 weeks later was appropriate. But by about the 2.5 week mark I started following this up and we only received his ashes about 4 or 5 days before the memorial. So it felt a bit stressful getting the ashes back but I’m sure if you make them aware of time frames, it shouldn’t be a problem.
The other thing is the website. I really love the idea of the photos and memories page and the guestbook. The only point I would make is that the photo upload can be a bit glitchy when you are uploading multiple photos on a post. Regardless of how I uploaded them, I found it would re-sort the photos into a different order which could be problematic at times when you want them displayed in a specific order, so I think this is an area they could rectify quite easily with some tweaking.
For the cost we paid, we couldn’t be happier, and the whole process overall was great. I’d certainly recommend them to anyone looking for a simple and easy process without a huge expense.

handled with such kindness, dignity and respect. Losing a loved one is overwhelming, and there are so many decisions and emotions to navigate. The team made what could have been a very stressful process feel calm, supported and manageable every step of the way.
A very special thank you to **Amanda** and **Kelly**. Both of you were absolutely incredible. Your compassion, patience and genuine care meant so much to our family. You always took the time to explain everything clearly, answer every question we had, and reassure us that everything would be taken care of. Nothing ever felt rushed or transactional — it always felt personal and heartfelt.
One thing that meant so much to me personally was the way you handled my dad and kept me updated throughout the entire process. At such a sensitive time, knowing he was being looked after with dignity and respect brought a huge sense of comfort. Those updates, the communication, and the transparency helped us feel connected and reassured during a very emotional period.
I would also like to thank the wonderful team who looked after us on the day of the memorial. Every person involved was so respectful, professional and caring. They ensured everything ran smoothly and supported our family with such warmth and understanding. It allowed us to focus on remembering and honouring Dad without worrying about any of the logistics.
The service itself was handled beautifully and with such grace. Every detail felt thoughtful and respectful, and it gave our family the space to celebrate Dad’s life in a meaningful way.
What stood out most throughout this entire experience was the genuine compassion shown by everyone at Bare Funerals. It is clear that this is not just a job for you — you truly care about the families you support and the people you are helping honour.
During such a heartbreaking time, having a team that shows such humanity, kindness and professionalism makes an enormous difference. Our family will always be grateful for the way you cared for Dad and supported us from beginning to end.
Thank you to Amanda, Kelly, and the entire Bare Funerals team for everything you did for our family. We will never forget the care and dignity you showed during this time.
We would absolutely recommend Bare Funerals to anyone who is looking for compassionate, respectful and truly outstanding service.
We went with Bare for the funeral of our mum, and to be honest, we were quite unsure about the whole process at the start—especially going with an online-based provider. everything clearly and never made us feel rushed, even when we had questions over the weekend (YES I GOT A REPLY!). That initial experience gave us a lot of confidence that we were in good hands.
Our arranger, Kristal, was just as fantastic. She was always responsive, clear, and transparent in her communication. Every question we had—big or small—was answered properly, and she consistently followed up in a timely way. It never felt like we were chasing or being left in the dark, which made a big difference during a stressful time.
Across the entire process, what stood out most was:
- Clear communication at every step
- Transparency around costs (no surprises)
- Consistent updates on status and next steps
- A genuine willingness to accommodate our requests
- No pressure or upselling — we never felt pushed into anything
They also handled most of the paperwork and admin for us, which made things so much easier during an already difficult time. We didn’t have to worry about getting caught up in documentation or red tape, which was a huge relief.
The pricing itself was also very reasonable for the level of service provided.
On the day itself, the Melinda and the team were professional, respectful, and very thoughtful in how they worked. They handled everything quietly in the background, which allowed us to focus on what really mattered—being present and celebrating our loved one.
Overall, Bare made a difficult process much more manageable, and we felt supported from start to finish.
I’d absolutely recommend them to anyone looking for a straightforward, transparent, and genuinely caring service.

The information on the website is easy to understand and I requested a quote which was very acceptable. The staff member I spoke to to accept the quote was very pleasant and thoughtful and ensured that I understood every part of the process. I would recommend people consider a Bare funeral and have the conversation with their family.
I would highly recommend this company, their customer service is above and beyond. We lost mum on the 12th May, Lydia has been with us all the way since then. Thankyou once again for all your support and kindness. Sue and Karen
This review is for all the DOUBTERS out there. I am from Spearwood in Western Australia and have just had a Cremation for my mum on the 20th of May 2026. gauge an estimate. I then rang Bare, from the first phone call with Holly to our arranger Ashlyn. The whole process has been nothing but amazing. I had to deal with Negative Nancys within my family about using Bare. The family are so thankful we didn't listen to the doubters, the service was impeccable. I want to thank Holly who did an amazing job in helping us through this difficult time and that was just for a quote. Then our arranger Ashlyn, I cannot praise you enough. We had a vision and you made that happen for my Dad. THANK YOU Ash and THANK YOU Bare.

Do not use Bare Funerals in Adelaide! They used a local funeral business for pickup and storage of my relative's body before cremation. This was Country Road Funerals (Main North Rd, Pooraka). While at Country Road Funerals, her wedding and engagement rings went missing (presumed stolen), and these were never returned to our family. This incident… Read more
was reported to the SA Police. Bare Funerals refunded their fee but did not follow up adequately with Country Road Funerals or our family. They brushed us off with a full refund, but no explanation for what happened, and a reluctance to involve the police and hold Country Road Funerals accountable!

Signed up 2 days ago got mail to say they were taking nearly $150 out of my account in 2 days I rang to change date to 10/3/ as that is my pension day. No one rang me back now I have virtually nothing till the 10th. Really bad customer service.
My partner of 4 years passed away of cancer, and his sister took over booking the Basic package for him. extremely rude on the phone, and hung up on me, because my name "wasn't on their list as the client". They later admitted my name was listed. I went with his parents to the appointment to collect his ashes, and nobody answered the doorbell. Instead, staff member drove into the carpark and opened her boot displaying a dozen boxes of ashes. She handed my partners ashes to us from her car boot. Unbelievable. The only nice thing I can say about them is the packaging was attractive.

A number of family and friends commented on how discreet and respectful the staff were.
We were given the choice from 6 coffins and were impressed with the style and quality of the one chosen. We were given the cross off the coffin at the end of the day.
We were personally cared for by a consultant through the whole process and on the day of the funeral were made to feel comfortable and relaxed on the day of the funeral as staff were on top of anything previously discussed or planned.
The whole day meant for a very comfortable and memorable experience due to the hard work and co-ordination of the BARE team.
A very good way of producing a product that's needed by all. Staff was very amiable and the product information was great and easy to understand and the simple payments set up and the backup of the money invested to be safe Plus my contact was understanding and very helpful in providing his assistance in any questions , would recommend to all family and friends
I joined BARE a few weeks ago, had a look about 18 month ago and thought I am a bit to young to get in to all this. But, 18 month later, there I am, joined. And joining this wonderful caring family is like a breeze, so easy and painless. There there on helping you all the way. Have to say, I do not regret it at all.
The Bare product is first class and easy to understand. Aditi was awesome with all her advice and assistance in getting me the product I was after. Give that girl a pay rise!! :) Thank you Bare for the peace of mind this process has given me.
Kristal and the team made the process to organise a funeral for my mum so streamline. I have never organised one before and the team had made it very easy. The day of the funeral was a lovely send off to my mum and the team made it very special for us. They kept us comfortable and supported.
