Love it – Great kettle. Most people complain about rusting...it's not rust it's calcium build up..all kettles have it. Clean with mild lemon juice solution or citric acid. Like new again. Only down side for me is the alarm once it's boiled. Otherwise love it.

Rusted and Overly Complex – Bought the Bellini Smart Tea Glass Kettle (BTGK19) just six months ago at Target, but the inside base is already showing rust spots. (Our previous glass kettle by Sunbeam at same price lasted five years without rusting at all!) Also, managing settings requires the manual handy because some settings use numbers and going through settings levels is… Read more

unclear (and I consider myself a techie on most electronics). Our previous Sunbeam glass kettle had variable temperature settings that were user friendly and obvious. The Bellini kettle also finished with a sound that irritated some people and wasn't audible to others (high frequency squeak). The kettle boiled fairly quickly but could have been somewhat quieter. I gave this product two stars because at least it boiled water safely...for a while. Not surprisingly, it doesn't seem to be available for sale any longer.

Great Quality, Great Price – I recently had to return a well known brand name electric glass kettle due to it leaking. I have now replaced it with a Bellini 1.7L Glass Kettle - BGK19. It cost me less than half the price of the one I returned, and I am very happy with it. I have learnt a few things about electric kettles that may not seem that obvious when you are looking at… Read more

them on the shop shelf.

A lot of electric kettles have the water level indicator inside the handle, and when you are filling it up, your hand obscures this water level indicator making it very awkward to fill it to the desired level. This probably makes the kettle cheaper to build as the water level indicator and handle are all in one piece. Obviously, buying a glass one eliminates this problem.

The pouring spout design on the Bellini 1.7L Glass Kettle - BGK19 is excellent, unlike some that I have used where the water runs down the side of the kettle as you are returning it to the upright position. The spout is also made of stainless steel rather than plastic. It also has a removable filter.

The Bellini 1.7L Glass Kettle - BGK19 is very quick to boil, and very quiet. It can also be re-filled and re-boiled immediately. Some kettles that I have used requires you to wait a few minutes for the thermostat to reset as the switch keeps turning off.

The overall build quality looks to be quite good, although the lid is only plastic, but even most of the kettles that appear to have a stainless steel lid will probably be plastic underneath.

The only negative thing that I can really pick on is the kettle has a slight rock when sitting on the base. I haven't noticed this before with other kettles.

Overall, this is a great electric glass kettle at a great price.
