My Go-to for Mossie Bites! Mossies love to bite me and my family, and we all find it hard not to scratch the bites. Then we discovered BitePatch! They actually work for us all, and stop the urge to scratch, saving us lots of little infected bite sores! We always keep them on hand as we love the outdoors.

Purchased in at Terry White Chemists for $9.

Not Worth It – I react severely to mosquito bites and the itch can continue for days. I am a magnet for them. I have seen mosquitoes by pass one person in preference of me. Bought these patches in the hope of some relief. Admittedly I had already started to scratch the bites and they say to not scratch at all even initially. They may work if you can put it on the bite before then but I wonder how many people can actually not scratch a mosquito bite for more than few minutes and if you only start to scratch when half asleep of not aware its a bite then you have already made them ineffective

Also you usually do not now you have a bite unless it itches and you may not be aware that you have been bitten until you realise the itching hasn't gone away after scratching.

They are extremely pricey for what appear to be a piece of sticking plaster made into a thatched grid. There is nothing else added.

I paid 9.99 for 24 patches and they are only about 2x21/2 cm. Evidently the grid construction of the patch is supposed to do something to the skin surface to relieve the itch. Also the adhesive is not very sticky and they can easily come off especially if clothing or bedding is rubbing against it

I can categorically say that once you have scratched and the histamines go to work that they do not work.

I may amend this review if I can use it on a bite I haven't scratched but I believe that once it is actually itchy it may be too late as histamines are already being released anyway

I have seen online hacks for just using sticking plaster, tape and even clear nail polish on a bite and may try these instead. My personal favourite is the applying heat with a hot spoon and this works even after it is itchy but needs to be reapplied when required but will let readers search themselves for how to do this safely.

BitePatches do not work for me
