Can you ride on a wet and rainy road Blackhawk electric skateboard v3

Shwan K.
Shwan K.

Or waterproof it. Thanks

Black Hawk
Black Hawk   DM

Hi Shwan K, Thanks for the message, I would be happy to assist you with your inquiry. Currently, we do not rate any of our boards to be water-resistant or waterproof. Riding in wet conditions is very dangerous due to slippery surfaces and can put stress on the wheel bearings and motors, not to mention you get wet and dirty when riding. It is well known that electricity and water do not work well together, so we recommend avoiding wet conditions where possible, not only can it be dangerous, but it can also have an effect on warranty as well.

With that being said, with every new shipment of boards, we endeavour to improve the board in multiple ways including water resistance.

With regard to your question about waterproofing. It is possible you could take some additional steps to help improve water resistance depending on the age of the board. It is not recommended to access the compartment or make any modifications to the product if you would like to keep the warranty valid.

If you have any further questions please contact our support team from the Black Hawk Contact Us Page.

Thanks for your time and happy skating.

Kind regards,

Black Hawk Electric

Hi I’m pretty sure in the instructions it says to not use it in the rain. I wouldn’t anyway as the wheels are slicks

Thanks alot. And just wondering also if I can change the battery to a longer lasting one. I sorta want to use it everyday travel more alot. Or add curry a extra battery?

Black Hawk
Black Hawk   DM

Hi Shwan, Thanks for your reply. Currently, the board comes with a capacity battery suitable for the size of the compartment. At this stage, we do not stock any higher-capacity batteries for our models outside of the stock battery. If we gain enough interest in an option similar to this it is something that we may consider in the future.

If you have any further questions please contact our support team from the Black Hawk Contact Us Page.

If i have 2 black hawk skateboards me and my son will they interfere with each other?

Black Hawk
Black Hawk   DM

Hi Steve, Thanks for your message. Two Black Hawk boards next to each other will not interfere with each other. That being said if there are enough boards/similar devices around there is a chance that the communication can be disrupted temporarily. This kind of scenario is generally limited to cities during peak hours when large populations of people are using wireless devices.

Please contact our support team from the website if you have any further questions.

What is the approximate cost of replacing the controller circuit board(not the remote btw).I can buy a secondhand blackhawk cheaply.I expect it will need new electronic control box.

Black Hawk
Black Hawk   DM

Hi BT1, Thanks for your question. The pricing will depend on the region that you are located in and the exact type of control board you require. I would recommend emailing our support team your shipping information from the website contact us form and they can assist with a quote.

They can also help with any technical support questions that you might have regarding the 2nd hand board.

Please contact our support team if you have any further questions and we would be happy to assist.

Can you ride manually, would you feel resistance when pushing without the electric motor on?

Black Hawk
Black Hawk   DM

Hi Vincent, Thanks for your message. Thanks to our hub drive motors the board can be ridden without using the electric system. The board is heavier and there is very small amounts of rolling resistance in the motor wheels when compared to a standard skateboard, so it does require more effort to maintain speed. But it can get you out of a pinch, if you were to run out of battery somewhere.

Please contact our support team if you require any further assistance.

Thanks for your time.

Hi, my B.H Street v3 was running fine, i skated home as it started to rain.. it got me home, once home i left the board sitting for about 2-3 months.. now doesnt seem to charge?? I bought a new charger... it's been on charge for good 3hrs... the red light turned green... but still wont go?? Help

Hi Lyle, Thanks for your message and for your detailed description. I am sorry to hear that you are experiencing some issues with your board currently Rest assured our team is willing and able to assist you with any concerns that you might have regarding your board.

Based on your description two possible scenarios come to mind.

Even though our boards are improving each production regarding water resistance, the inherent electrical nature of an electric skateboard does have a weakness against water, with enough water exposure. It is possible that water has infiltrated the electronics compartment while riding in the rain and damaged one of the components, preventing charging.

Secondly, it is possible that leaving the board for 2-3 months as you have described, without using or charging the battery could have caused the battery to discharge below what is the recoverable threshold for the charger. Our team recommends that you charge and use the board at least once a month to maintain battery health.

These scenarios may not be what has occurred for you, though are scenarios that correlate with your description.

It would be best for you to get in touch with our team directly from our contact form, (back on the website you purchased from), quote your original Black Hawk order number and provide us with a short video demonstration of the issue you are experiencing. Then our team will be glad to assist you in confirming the situation and getting your e-board back up and running.

Thanks for your time and we look forward to hearing from you via our support email when you are ready.

Kind regards,

My board seems to vibrate at top speed. It sounds like the battery to me but im unsure. It works great and does well up hill but the vibrating has me worried. Any suggestions?

Black Hawk
Black Hawk   DM

Hi Christopher, Thank you for getting in touch, we will be glad to assist you here. Rest assured, every Black Hawk battery is held in place very securely. There's no possible way the battery can vibrate within the battery case itself.

The most common (yet unlikely) cause for vibration while riding could be some debris that's been caught inside one of your wheel bearings. Importantly, this could happen on any skateboard, electric or unpowered.

Regardless, please get in touch with our team directly from our contact form, (back on the website you purchased from), quote your original Black Hawk order number and we will be glad to assist you in getting your e-board running to perfection.

One of the excellent features of our hub-drive motors is that cruising along feels silky-smooth and whisper-quiet. So we can certainly help you out with some replacement bearings if needed.

Thank you for your time, have a great day.

Black Hawk   DM

Hi Gordon, Thank you for your question. We are glad to hear that you are considering the Street Series. Our advice for riding on damp surfaces is to avoid any kind of moisture at all, primarily for safety reasons.

Please get in touch directly if you have any other questions.
