The sink CRACKED FROM UNDERNEATH after only 4 months of use. Blanco REFUSED to honour their warranty and left us with the repair bill. We'll be taking them to VCAT to recoup our losses. Terrible product as well, as the sink began to stain and the… Read more

gold-coloured wastes, tarnished within the same time period as well. The call centre team are rude, dismissive and refer you to put everything in email so some faceless "manager" can abdicate responsibility. STAY AWAY from anything Blanco

Follow-up  · The wastes tarnished with regular daily use after only 3 months. We believe it was a manufacturing fault in the sink as it cracked from UNDERNEATH - we supervised installation 4 months prior and personally picked up the sink ourselves to make sure it was never mishandled. The white finish of the sink IS NOT as stain resistant as the company's marketing spiel suggests.

Discoloured after a couple of months – The sink looked fantastic when it was first installed but quickly discoloured. We followed Blanco's cleaning instructions but 18 months later it looks awful and never looks properly clean. We did our research before buying and Blanco claims on their website that ' The material will not discolour or fade under normal use, and with a little care.'… Read more

This is just not true. My advice is if you really want one of these sinks don't go for a white one. Very disappointed with the sink.

Worst Sink Ever; Do NOT purchase from Blanco! – Blanco double sink started staining about 6 months after installation, getting worse as time went by. I contacted Blanco who indicated the sink was not defective and was not covered by warranty. I paid over $1,400 for the sink and followed all the instructions for cleaning it, but the stains have just gotten worse. This is the worst sink I have… Read more

Be aware, Blanco will deny warranty claim when its clearly a manufacturing error – We've owned this sink for a couple years and noticed a crack on the top side corner. When we looked underneath there was significant cracking on the underside with water leaking. When I contacted Blanco they initially declined the warranty claim stating it wasnt a manufacturing defect. When I inquired why they stated they thought it might be… Read more

from something being dropped forcefully inside the sink. I sent them a video showing there was absolutely no damage where the cracks are they just said they don't have to prove anything to decline any warranty claim. I took a video which i will include in this review to see for yourself where you can clearly see zero damage to the area where the cracking originates. But what you can see is cracks underneath the stone.

Bottom line is Blanco will deny any claim you try and make and they don't have to prove anything to do it. Its obvious I didn't drop anything hard or heavy in that area. Its obvious these sinks aren't as strong as they advertise them to be and their warranty isn't worth the paper its written on.

Strainer should come with a warning – Be careful emptying the strainer into the bin (if you don't pick the push button option). Twice, the small black plastic/rubber plug beneath the strainer has been lost after – I guess – faling into our bin and then someone replacing the strainer. It's a $60 item, and though Blanco sent me one for free, they won't do that anymore. So I have put up… Read more

Otherwise, I do love the sink and have had no durability issues. The strainer can't be turned to open or close with your fingers cos its too slippery so you'll find yourself using fingernails in the slots.

Defective Diamond silgranit kitchen sink – I rated 1 star because zero wasn’t an option. This sink is a year and a half old and looks like an old used sink. A few months after it was installed dark spots developed on the lower front and sides. I tried to remove them but they didn’t come off. I wrote to Blanco and sent a picture. They gave me a few ideas to try to remove them, but nothing… Read more

worked. I decided to just live with it instead of making a fuss. A few months later I noticed several chips that looked as if they were rusting. I notified Blanco again and sent pictures. They informed me that their sinks were very durable and chip and stain resistant but sometimes it can happen if something “hits it the wrong way.” They said Blanco will not be held liable for chips, scratches or stains that can occur under normal use over a period of time. Period of time? Three months??!! It is just me and my husband. We don’t abuse and throw things into the sink. I’ve always had stainless steel sinks and they scratch very easily so I decided to buy a nice sink when we built this house. Blanco seemed like a reputable company with quality products so we purchased this sink. I’m extremely disgusted with this sink and the lack of customer service from Blanco. If you’re looking for quality and a company that will stand by their products DON’T BUY FROM BLANCO! Now I’m stuck with a crap expensive sink.

Kitchen Reno Scarred – After researching Blanco sink quality and design, we purchased a Silgrain double kitchen sink to be part of our kitchen renovation. Initially the sink was beautiful and seemed to be able to withstand the daily demands of a normal household kitchen. We read the care and warranty to ensure we treated the sink according to manufacturer requirements.… Read more

After 1.5 years of use, the sink we noticed a chip in the bottom of the sink-after we examined the sink further, we discovered that it was riddled with over 35 pencil-point size indentations that were eroding into larger 'chips'.

In contacting Blanco's Canadian head office they referred to the warranty not covering chips, even at this unusual amount of chips over this short period of time. Our feeling was that this sink was a result of a production flaw as we have friends who have Silgrain sinks and not experienced this situation.

Extremely disappointed at the quality of the Silgrain sink and Blanco not backing their product. When in conversation with others who are renovating kitchens or building new homes, we absolutely do not recommend this product or company.

Beautiful sink – After heaps of research chose a Blanco Silgranite Pura Dura 11 sink. In fact it is almost identical to the model above, which is what I had chosen, but instead got a Harvey Norman exclusive which included the anthracite tap as well. been in for a month but I can't see any reason why it will show damage. Blanco say you can put hot stuff on it (and we have a couple of times without an issue) and you can cut on it. This I am not game to do. Why risk it when I always use a cutting board anyway? Maybe when it is older. It is a lovely sink and so far can highly recommend. It is a good depth if you need to wash up bigger items, but you only need to add water to the desired depth for the items being washed. I bought the metal colander that fits inside the sink too and that has been useful (but very expensive $163 for a colander!!!!) bit of an extravagance but I am glad that I bought it.

Blanco black silgranit sink – We renovated our kitchen, and although we did most ourselves, I wanted quality fittings and appliances. So I reviewed everything to death! outstanding purchase was our last piece of the kitchen Reno . . . Our sink.

Not many reviews on this anywhere. So thought I would create one for people like me who want honest answers.

We bought a Blanco Silgranit 1 and 1/2 bowl black sink and I love it. It is all that Blanco advertises and more! The size of the main bowl is huge. Fits all the large pans I can fit from my large oven and after I drain the sink the water practically dries off by itself! It's 80% granit, so it's lovely to touch and look at. We have so many comments on it. It has been in for approx 4 months now and it takes all i throw at it. I cook a lot and no scratches, stains or odor. So easy to wipe dry.

That's the positives. The negatives are small. I wish they made accessories for this, such as a strainer and wooden cutting board. I have bought IKEA ones and they fit over the 1/2 side on an angle as the main sink side is very large and I can't find anything to fit. That's it. No other negatives!

I researched black sink reviews, and all were expensive with pretty bad comments. That's why I thought I would add my positive review, for those that want to give their kitchen a money worth spending highlight!

Best Sink ever – I have done several renovations and built one house. I have always had stainless steel sinks and even though going for top brands, I've never been happy with them after a few months. Esthetically attractive but not practical – We've had this sink for a little over a year. It looks great in our kitchen but it has multiple tiny chips. We are retired and have no children in the house so the sink does not get abused in any way. We've gone back to our… Read more

builder, who has reached out to the supplier, with not positive response or even a recommendation on how to fill the chips. We reached out to Blanco directly without a response. This has been a terrible product – The sink was less than one year. No harsh chemical cleaners, followed their directions. Noticed multiple chips. About 10. Faulty product, horrible customer experience – I purchased a Blanco SILGRANIT sink in Anthracite. Blanco advertised on their website that Silgranit is heat-resistant up to 280 C, so you can put hot pots and pans straight into the sink without any qualms and it won't suffer any discolouration. My sink had a white mark from resting a fry pan on it, the fry pan was definitely not exceeding 280 C… Read more

and so I lodged a complaint on Blanco’s website. Shriro, who distributes Blanco in Australia, organised for a plumbing company to replace the sink. Shriro has refused to rectify the issues despite them have a duty to as they organised the plumbing company. I will never buy a BLANCO product again.

Beware of "normal use" side effects – VERY POOR DESIGN drain tailpiece has hidden ledge just below strainer insert that extends out of sight underneath sink that holds some of everything that gets washed down drain, think about it, meat gravy, raw chicken juices, yogurt, cooked egg left over pieces..get the picture? ---then it starts to solidify and YOU CAN"T SEE WHERE THE SMELL IS… Read more

COMING FROM...until VERY close exam shows SLIME protrusion into drain way!! Then there are the VERY PRICEY strainer plugs that leak after 7 months because the rubber is so brittle it cracks---probably can't take the hot water, and finally no matter how careful you are with detergents and protector applications it just grays out and never looks any good.

Great large sink but be careful about colour choice – I love this large sink, it is so much easier to wash or cook now.
