Never worked – The push down lever for toasting doesn't stay down. This has been a problem since the beginning. Unable to return to House.com.au during lockdown. Ignored every email. Now discontinued for good reason! Show details

Doesn’t stay down – This toaster has always been temperamental about whether the lever will stay down or not, but now it has given up completely. Bread only toasts if you hold the lever down manually. It also toasts one side of the bread well while the other side is only very lightly toasted. I can’t wait to get a new toaster and will be buying a different brand. Show details

JUNK – $130 to purchase. It lasted 3 years. It has tripped my safety switch a number of times through those three years. The last time I used it, it made a loud pop, I saw a blue flash and it tripped the safety switch again one last time. It never worked again after the blue-flash incident. I went out and bought a $19 toaster from K-Mart. I except… Read more

to get the same amount of life out of this new toaster. That's all I will buy from now on. When I opened the box, I studied the internals of the K-Mart toaster and compared it to the broken Bodum Bistro. It is identical to the Bodum Bistro. The buttons and functions and the dial are exactly the same. Even the reheat and defrost buttons are in the same spot on the printed circuit board inside. Even the colours they illuminate are exactly the same. This is the exactly same toaster.

When you buy this product, you are paying $111 for the box it came in and the coloured plastic surround and trim (mine was red). The remaining $19 is paying for the toasting mechanism.

Shame on you Bodum. What a beautiful cheap and cheerful toaster you've charged the earth for.

Chucked it out because it collected crumbs internally. Bad design – The crumb tray would stay clean but crumbs would be everywhere inside and could not be cleaned properly. Chucked it out as it was attracting bugs. Toasted well whilst we had it, but just gave up and tossed it out because it wasn't worth the trouble of trying to clean it.

Oops! – I wish I hadn't bought this. It didn't function properly from day one and the supplier's return policy wasn't honoured. The actual Bodum website contacts also requested photos and other details that required me to spend a lot more time than I have writing this review...so.... Customer satisfaction = 0

Bodum fails to stay down – Not only does not toast evenly, but after 16 months, will not stay down. No help from Bodum, no service manual available...Still works and, after exchanging three units, learned to live with it because of the design. Further, tried other toasters in price range : none where satisfactory in the toasting of bread.

Sad, but true! – I got my Bodum Toaster eight months ago, was love at first sight! It worked perfectly and the style is so beautiful, but by the fifth month is started to work incorrectly, the toast button doesn't stay down and by now doesn't work at all unless you stay with your finger pushing until the bread is toasted. Beside that when you try to turning on,… Read more

it do an electrical spark insight the toaster. Is really sad, but true because I do love my toaster and I got it in JCPenny and they discontinue the product line in their stores.

Excellent toaster – We've had the Bodum toaster for about 7 months now and no complaints. It toasts evenly every time and all functions work well (cancel button, setting dial). The toast is held vertically very well which helps it toast evenly - our old taster allowed the bread to fall on an angle so would end up in various shades of brown. I love the rubber exterior… Read more ·  1

which is cool to touch and hasn't discoloured at all which I hope will be the case long term. It's easy to clean and wipe down. I haven't used the warmer rack or the defrost button as yet. We've had no issues at all with the toaster. even toasting, attractive nothing

Another bad bodum experience – Bought this product and a Bodum kettle. Kettle lasted about a year before breaking down. Was replaced but relegated to the garage so is hardly used. The toaster has lasted 31 months but yesterday the toast popped up half done and the toaster won't turn on again. The store does not stock them anymore and it's out of warranty!! The products look nice… Read more

but not worth the pricetag. Feeling ripped off!!! Looks nice Toast took longer to cook compared to other toaster(which is still going).material hard to wipe clean.expensive for the distance it lasted!!
