I love it - both the cooking & the style – Bought it because my previous bosch oven needed lots of cleaning & I heard about self clean. Small apartment wasn't too sure about the pyrolytic cleaning so went for this one. Heats quickly, cooks well & cleaning is so much easier than it used to be. The style of the white glass I like & it always looks clean - I prefer this to SS. Shame the model is out of date - I've had it for 5 years - hope for many more. Show details
Fantastic oven – 3 years of flawless service, surprisingly big and fast to heat up. The best part is the fast heating setting which is great for getting things ready quickly. The ecoclean interior is great for oily food without having a full pyrolytic oven. Super even cooking and is reasonably efficient - the only wish list item is a child lock that locked… Read more · 1
the front door too. The control dial in the front is easy to remove and clean as its held in with magnets which is fantastic when you end up getting cooking debris inside.
Don't believe the self cleaning hype otherwise good – Cooks well and have no problem getting reasonable results. The controls are nice and have yet to have any issues with these. Biggest disappointment is with the self cleaning function. I sometimes cook in an open tray and this produces a small amount of splatter enter the self clean function... Save your cash and buy one without this function. The… Read more
model I have has the fancy self clean sides I give that function a 1 out of five. Not only that because the sides are a special material there is no other cleaning option. The bottom of the oven is enamel and using special Bosch gel cleaner even after leaving for four hours produced results similar to using a wet flannel.
It owns you – The oven's dial control is difficult to manage as it controls all sorts of settings, depending on what menu you're currently viewing. It has a shrill squeal when the timer ends, not once, but 8 times. When it decides it wants cleaning - after a certain number of uses, whether it's dirty or not - it squeals at you every time you press the power… Read more
button. It won't be satisfied until you comply with starting the cleaning cycle. Two years later, the heating cycle progress bar has lost its calibration. Starting from a cold oven the heating cycle bar indicates approximately 60 deg C. When it indicates that it's reached its desired temperature setting, it's only about 1/4 of the way through the heating cycle. Thankfully it still gets to temperature - I bought an oven thermometer so I could tell what it's really doing.

Very good oven, quiet and quick! – Have been using this over for almost a year now, it does an amazing job. Lots of features and settings, the sliding rails are also very handy to have! Preheats quickly and quietly. Cooling down afterwards takes a bit but you can't hear it's doing anything at all! Cooks very well, slow cooking, pizza, muffins, bread, no issues whatsoever. … Read more · 1
Cleaning is a bit of effort, you have to take out all the rails and then run the cleaning cycle. I find it's asking to be cleaned rather frequently.
Good oven, can highly recommend!
Great oven – Excellent build quality and features I bought this oven and it is one of the best Ive ever had. The features are amazing plus it is great value for money. Loved the service from appliance online and their delivery team. Fixed everything without a hitch. Id recommend this to anyone without a doubt. Show details · 1
Marvelous oven – Bought this as an upgrade in our new house and very glad we did Has great functions and instructions on screen. Even tells us when to clean the inside liners The slide out runners on two of the shelves are absolutely great All ovens should have these for safety if nothing else. Temperature is very accurate and so makes cooking and baking much easier WIfe is very happy with it and all our other Bosch appliances Show details · 1
Worst oven I've ever owned – This oven cooks bread and cakes perfectly. But that's all. Roasts are disgusting, it cannot brown meat. vegetables look like I've steamed them. Pizza crust is like a cake. When I open the door steam billows out and up to the ceiling and it takes forever to cool down with the air exhausting above the door. It's not a steam oven but there is so much… Read more
steam from the food inside when cooking. It's not a dry heat. I've been cooking for over 40 years and regret buying this oven to replace a previous Bosch oven which baked beautifully.

Efficient and Quiet – I replaced my old oven with this Bosch series 8 oven. Love the auto pilot, and it cooks roast beautifully. The oven is very quiet in operation. I also love the two telescopic shelves. It's so easy to slide the tray out and check the cooking progress. The LED light is on during cooking; which enables monitoring of the cooking process. great oven – oven heats to 200 + degrees under 8 minutes. very quick. I've mostly done conventional cooking which has been beyond expectations. easy to use, soft close door is a plus, i can only fault the stiff / firm control dial. tight to rotate not like what was on dispaly in store. tip top oven. Bosch HBG655HS1A - Seems to be the one – It was time for a new oven as my wife pretty well uses the oven on a daily basis and it was starting to get ugly. Previous one was probably on the cheaper side so it's fair to say you get what you pay for. Needless to say I Googled myself crazy looking for reviews of satisfied oven customers and they were a real mixed bag but the one brand that… Read more · 1
seemed to rate consistently well was the Bosch. The Bosch HBG655HS1A was of particular interest as it was the pyrolytic oven which is what we were after. Off to the Goodguys we go to see if the wife found the proposed new oven "user friendly" as she is a bit tech adverse and being fair, some off the ovens required a degree to operate. To cut a long story short, it's installed. We have had two test drives one being the Sunday roast ......... perfect. Bosch is a German brand that is well respected in the trade and looks good in the kitchen. The oven is simple to operate, actually I know how to use it, a mere male. Haven't tried the pyrolytic cleaner as the oven is not dirty at this early stage.
Bosch HBG655HS1A – Still learning how to operate as it was only installed into my new kitchen last week, (after sitting in my house since October last year waiting to be installed). I like the idea of the cleaning function and not having to have it on a high temp as I'm nervous on anything above 200 due to previous brands exploding door!. The only down side, thus… Read more · 1
far, is the dial which takes some getting used to as I'm finding it a bit hard to turn quickly. I'm yet to use the auto function as I've mostly been practising on smaller items which do not carry the same weight as the guide suggestions. Its stylish and quiet and I like that it shows that's its cooling down after the oven has been turned off.

Love it, except for the exploding door – Purchased in August 2015 for a new kitchen. Lovely modern look and very quiet oven. Took a while to get used to all the functions etc, but cooks very well. Like the dial etc and all the functions on offer and I am sure I haven't even used anywhere near it's capabilities. Have to be careful though on higher temps as when you open the door a lot… Read more · 1
of steam comes out and could potentially burn you or a child.
Only issue to date is door exploding. Used the grill function one morning and opened the door and BANG, the oven door 2 layers of glass completely exploded everywhere. I was stunned and lucky that the glass didn't go into my legs or damage my new flooring.
I still have fragments of glass in oven that I just can't get out so disappointed. Luckily the local Good Guys store swapped the door over with there display door as I had 15 people coming for dinner the next night.
Bought 3 Bosch items Oven, Gas Cooktop PPQ716B21A (don't go there, read my review) and Front Loader washing machine.
Best purchase Front Loader washing machine, then Oven and last Gas Cooktop(never again).
Great Oven with Qualifications that reflect on Bosch – My wife and I bought this oven after viewing many brands through a major retailer. Price was largely irrelevant but ease of use, performance and RELIABILITY were the main characteristics we wanted. We chose a German brand after a good experience with other appliances. After delivery and installation which was done by the store, I noticed one of… Read more · 1
the rail mounts was bent. This was easily detected and I have no idea how this escaped Bosch QA from the factory. Very disappointed over this basic fault. The second issue was the display started having graphic anomalies (green fuzzy lines and then white background) after the first day.
We reported these faults through the store and ONE MONTH after delivery we had the faults rectified. My opinion of BOSCH has been very reduced because of this experience. NOT GOOD ENOUGH for a reasonably priced oven when the manufacturer is noted for reliability and quality.
The other issue I have noted is that BOSCH do not have any sort of purchaser feedback mechanism that comes with the appliance. So there is no way to make your views known to Bosch without creating an account with them and then receiving unwanted advertising etc.
