Great build quality – We installed this oven in 2008 and still going strong nearly 14 years later. Only thing is the bulb needed changing. Pyrolytic cycle is fantastic! The internal glass needs some effort to keep clean and a shame you have to remove the racks for pyrolytic cleaning. Show details

Broken glass door just out of warranty and rude service – Glass door cracked while cooking at 180degrees a few months out of warranty. The element had bent out of shape before warranty. If that happens to you, get it replaced. Our door cracked all the way across, but the biggest part of the crack is where the element had become misshapen. The warranty people were very very rude in my dealing with them.

HBN731551A – I have had this oven for 4 years. It has worked well until a few weeks ago. The fast warm-up is great and cooking seems generally even. Unfortunately though, a few weeks ago all the lights lit up on the control panel and it refused to work. Not one, but two PCBs had blown - the main controller and the clock. With a cost of $440 + labour added to… Read more

the $121 callout fee, it was not going to be cheap to fix. Anyway, several weeks later and it is still not fixed due to a poor aftersales arrangement in my area. Essentially, a 3rd party company is responsible for doing repairs, but has to order parts on an ad-hoc basis.

To be fair to Bosch, after 3 visits by the guy to fix it, and it still not working, they have agreed to pay the bill for parts and labour. Hopefully they will review the way that they deal with service agents. I will think twice about buying a Bosch product again though. Setting for quick warm up Broke after 4 years, 5+ weeks and counting to fix it

Excellent – Also looked at the Westinghouse and Miele, after unfavourable reviews on the Westinghouse and the Miele being way to expensive, We are very happy with the Bosch. I can now cook my baked vegies in 30mins(before it use to take me 1.5 hours and they were never crispy just soggy, only pulled them out so the kids and husband didn't starve to death).… Read more ·  2

After doing the rounds of the major department stores and being dissapointed with the prices, we got a great deal from APPLIANCES ONLINE.com.au. would recommend the oven and them to anyone. HBN530551A. Fantastic oven, replaced our 12 year old chef and the difference is amazing. Great aray of heating functions, the pizza setting is great for baked vegies, chips, pizza's and other foods that require a crispy bottom. The timer beeps when the countdown is finished, which is great if like me you sometimes forget things are in the oven. It is easy to use, you get a lots of racks and pans and a split grill. The variable grill function is great if you only have a little item to grill it only heats half the grill. 'Cool touch' door really is cool to touch (great if you have littlies or a Lab who like to lean on the door to make sure they don't miss out on anything that may come their way). It is easy to clean inside and out. Nothing LOVE LOVE LOVE this oven.

Invented for Life - not! Fails just out of warranty – Fabulous oven while under warranty ie cooks evenly , quickly, easy to clean etc However 6 months after warranty expiry, I was getting weird cooking times. Stuff was burnt or underdone. I kept checking what I was doing since I thought I was going gaga. However after some months I got a thermometer and found that the temp I set would take ages to… Read more

come up instead of the usual 10-15 minutes. It was now taking some 15-35 minutes to get within what I had set even though the oven said it was ready.

Also the temp is usually but not always some 30 deg C above or below what I set even though the temp light says it is on temp. ie the temp fluctuates and randomly settles on a temp during the cooking process . Is not reliable. Ok for long cooking stews. Forget about delicate cakes and roasts. You need to stand there and watch it cook and use a thermometer.

Bosch refuse to fix it since it is outside of warranty. I am annoyed at having to pay hundreds of dollars to repair when I paid some $2200 up front. I have looked after it and it has not been that heavily used either.

Not reliable.

Should a 30 month old oven need repairs?

Now another friend who bought around the same time is having the same problem.

What is happening at Bosch? At first , everything - Now nothing. It is only 3 years old. Poor reliable. No longevity as promised. only a 30 month lifespan
