Brilliant Cooktop – My horrible brown coloured 1980's oven and cook top were still working but showing their age. Time for a kitchen make-over! Like another reviewer here, the hole in my bench top was too wide for the 60cm Bosch. I looked at several Brands, but hardly any make a 70cm cook top, and the 80cm would have been too wide and extend outside the area of my narrow (new) range hood. Due to its size, the Bosch 70cm was the obvious choice. If it worked half as well as my new Bosch blue professional power tools, I would be happy. I replaced the oven first with a Bosch double oven. No problems installing it and it looks fantastic. Next, the cook top. The old one lifted out no problems, but the old hole wasn't the right size. It was too small depth wise and too big width wise, as the Bosch needs the width to be just right, as there are mounting brackets that have to be attached to the side of the hole, necessitating accurate measurements. I used an oscillating multi-tool to extend the hole 1cm in depth, then inserted a length of timber to reduce the width to the right size. After screwing on the mounting brackets, I inserted the cooktop, but only three of the four clips would clip into place, so the rear left corner was sticking up. A dozen or so tries later and a lot of fiddling, I realized that one of the guides on the mounting rail was a bit high, preventing the fourth lug from dropping down far enough to clip in. A little adjustment with a pair of pliers and the job was done. I was probably just unlucky, but it’s handy to know if you’re fitting it yourself.

Okay, that was the fitting out of the way, now for the testing.

I have never used an induction cook top before, but have heard a lot about them. So I put two inches of water in a large pan, hit the “on” button, pressed full power (not even boost), turned to pick up my coffee and when I looked back, there were little bubbles forming on the bottom of the pan already! Wow! I could leave my hand on my old cook top for a full minute or so after turning it on. This was instant. Within a couple of minutes the water was boiling. Had to phone the wife at work to tell her about that one, I was so amazed. Next I tried cooking scrambled eggs. Put my toast in the toaster and poured my egg mixture into the frypan. Fist mistake. My eggs were ready within a minute and the toast was only thinking about going brown. This thing is quick.

Well, I am an induction convert. If you want to spend less time in the kitchen watching your dinner cook, then buy an induction cook top today. The Bosch looks as good as it cooks. Looks. Cooking speed Nothing

Makes cooking a pleasure – We chose this induction cooktop after our previous one broke and parts were no longer available for it. Our stove cutout is just too wide for 600mm tops, so we need to find 700mm cooktops, of which there is much less choice. The installation of this was more difficult than the previous cooktop as needed brackets to be attached. This is our second induction cooktop. The first required us to buy new pots and pans, but induction is much better to cook with. We would not go back to any other electric cooktop.

The Bosch cooktop works well and it simple to use. The controls are quick to learn and give plenty of options. The fine adjustment makes finding the right temperature easy. The boost really does boost.

The flat finish looks good and makes it easy to clean. Simple to use.

Surprisingly Brilliant! – Purchased this cooktop on Grays Online. Been after an induction cooktop for years after using various ceramic cooktops which all have the inherent weakness of taking too long to heat and cool and have poor temperature control. First off - induction cooktops are everything they are promoted to be. They heat instantly and respond immediately when you change the setting. They are the electric equivalent of gas! I'd suggest you check your pans with a magnet before you get one as any pan a magnet wont stick to wont work but 90% of our pans were OK.

As to the Bosch it's a brilliant looking cooktop. Jet shiny black, easy to clean, responsive and well designed. It looks awesome and performs perfectly. No complaints. Looks awesome, sleek and well designed, absolute heating control

Great Cooktop – Being new to an induction cooktop I was a bit apprehensive, but would never go back now. I've been cooking with it for a month. It heats up faster than gas, it's extremely easy to use and cooks everything just as well if not better than gas. The real beauty comes in how easy it is to clean. Really couldn't ask for anything more. easy to use, easy to clean, cooks great
