This is the 3 burner model. Perfect for 1 or 2 people. Cooks great, way better than the gas cooker it replaced. BUT!! So easy to scratch! My daughter in Canada has the 4 burner version and has the same problem, within days of installation the cooktop is scratched - so not just me! I've checked my cookware and it's all quality (Tefal) and smooth on… Read more

the base. Doesn't affect cooking but looks horrible to have a $1,000 plus cooktop looking 2nd hand so soon.

The absolute worst controls for an induction cooker I have ever had. If this was known beforehand I wouldn't have purchased this. I agree with the others who are flabbergasted at the controls need for continuous press to zero to turn off one element whilst using others. The quickest way to zero is turn the induction off and switch back on. Do… Read more

this too quickly and the elements remember the last setting and switch straight to that heat setting. And the timer function...oh my god is it a nuisance. And don't clean it with an ever so slightly damp cloth...it has a melt down. Sometimes when boiling the kettle on the cook top, the steam from the kettle can set some elements off and the switch on the timer comes on...seriously weird controls. Other than that it cooks well and is a breeze for simmering sauces and quick boiling of water. Becuase of the controls i could never recommend this product

Failed Cooktop again – Bosch cooktop has failed again - 1 year after purchasing a new cooktop it failed and had to be replaced. Qualified technician completed the replacement and all worked ok, including all electrical wiring being updated in case that had been some cause. Nearly 2 Years later the cooktop failed again. just won't turn on. It cost $1000 to replace it the… Read more

first time and who knows what it will cost to replace it again this time. Will NEVER buy another Bosch appliance

Cooking a nightmare with Bosch induction cooktop – I loathe cooking since I moved into a rental with an induction cooktop by Bosch. I spent a small fortune on "induction" cookware and still not able to cook anything properly. At least with gas and electric one can predict the temperature. Boiling or poaching eggs is a nightmare. I just tried to make cheese sauce, temp on 6. took 45 minutes. My… Read more

love of cooking totally destroyed. The temperature is not stable, one day #6. boils to quickly, other days, like today 30 minutes to heat milk for sauce. I am totally frustrated but this cooktop. I hate it.

Fatally flawed by the awful fiddly controls – I liked the cooktop until I actually used it. The more I use it, the more I dislike it. Although there are a couple of shortcuts, overall the controls are quite ridiculously fiddly, distinctly tiny to read and make the cooktop a real disappointment. I had had different induction cooktops before this one. Using the controls was never an issue,… Read more

and I’ve never come across one as dreadful as the Bosch. I would certainly not have bought it if I’d known (it was impossible at the time to visit and see one) and I will not buy another Bosch because of this fatal flaw. Most cooktops are straightforward and quick: you simply select the cooktop plate, then select the heat level. Want to turn it down, up or off? Easy peasy. Not if you have this cooktop! It has graduated levels all the way from 1 up to 9, with inbetween graduations (think 1, 1.5, 2, 2.5 etc. ) Sounds OK? Well If the plate is on 4, say, and you want to go up to 9, you have to stand there pressing the tiny little + over and over and over to move up through every blasted graduation! Want to switch it off? Unless you are only using one plate, again, you are forced to stand there and inch it down to zero in tiny little pushes. 9, 8.5, 8, 7.5…. Stupid! And do not even get me started on how small and hard to see the controls are. Who on earth at Bosch designed it like this? Doesn’t anyone there ever actually cook? Do they know nothing about useability and easiness in controls? Clearly not. Whoever approved this should resign. Right now. I’m getting rid of it it after less than a year of use as it is so frustrating to use.

Great three burner induction cooktop – We decided on a three burner as we never used all four burners simultaneously on the old cooktop. As it turns out, we rarely use two burners simultaneously on the new cooktop! The three burner sizes cater for everything from a small milk pan to a large stew pot. Schott Ceran top surface has proven to be hard wearing with no scratches or… Read more ·  1

discolouration after a year of use. The touch controls are reliable. Some users may be frustrated at the graduation of the power levels. Power is set in 0.5 levels from 0.5 to 9.0. Boost is available for super fast heating. Cooking "heat" appears very gentle until 7.0 - after which each increment is noticeably "hotter". We have been very pleased with the unit and will be buying another Bosch induction cooktop for our new home. Note: the cooktop was installed with its own dedicated circuit and breaker.

Great mechanism, terrible quality glass cover – I’ve found the stove top mechanics to be excellent and it heats up quickly. All round this stove top has great induction function. Like others, I find the touch controls less responsive and quite fiddly - the ability to turn one stove top off quickly would be ideal. Providing only three cooking plates instead of the usual four is a little cheeky… Read more

but not an issue.

The main issue we have found is the Schott and Ceran glass cover is very poor quality which is surprising given the same company manufactures laboratory-grade glass. The stove top is 1.5 months old and despite using it normally we have noticed scratches appearing all over the glass some of which are reasonably deep. We’re using regular Esteelle sauce pans and a Tefal wok, nothing unexpected that could cause abnormal wear and tear. I imagine it’s going to look pretty unsightly in a year, I don’t know how that will affect function.

Good product – This cooktop is generally great. We would have given it a 4.5 stars if we could. We switched from electric to this cooktop. Be mindful that you will need to get another circuit installed so there are additional costs for the electrical work. It is so much better than gas or electric cooking though. It is very fast to heat up and the temperature is… Read more

even. We do find that we need to cook on 7-9 as anything below 7 is a bit slow. It was good value for money though. We also haven't worked out how to get the timer not to start at 30 mins as it is a bit frustrating having to dial it down, this may be user error. It is also odd that you have to make the element go slowly back to zero to switch it off if you don't want all your elements to turn off. In general though we have found it to be good and it has lasted well so far without any hitches.

Not cockroach proof and slow single station power control – Bought this 8 months ago. Now, one plate not working. Bosch technician came 2 weeks later. Saw some cockroaches and diagnosed damage from cockroaches as he spoke from experience without any concrete scientific evidence. Bosch said damage not covered. Requiring fumigation before considering discount for replacement. I lost my confidence in Bosch as… Read more

cockroaches are everywhere. So, make sure your house is cockroaches free if you consider Bosch. Also, I found that changing cooking stations and power is a nightmare. So clumsy and the power too forever to change. I suggest individual station and sliding power quick response button as the new generation don't like anything slow or inconvenience. I was looking at much improved Westinghouse Induction cooktop before buying a Smeg on Gumtree for a good price.

Excellent cooktop with minor cons – As an induction cooktop, it's absolutely fantastic. The highest level 9 and the boost are really powerful and extremely fast. In the 6 months I have been using I have never had any issues. As to the details: - The adjustment range 1-9 is great but the heat significantly drops below 7. I wouldn't call 5 mid-heat for example. - You couldn't turn off… Read more ·  1

individual plates and have to press and hold the '-' button to zerorise which is not practical. You get used to it, but it's such a simple functionality not available. If you are just using one hotplate or turn all hotplates off at the same time then you could. - Easy cleaning and safe. Switching from a ceramic cooktop the cleaning has been a breeze, and there is no chance to have an empty hotplate 'hot'. As the induction plates need magnetic connection to heat up, without steel they are just cold which eliminates things sticking to the surface, get burnt, etc... - Electronic touch panel is a bit too sensitive to water. If you are frying something and when the hot oil splashes all over the place or when you are just wiping the cooktop with a damp cloth, the buttons flash with a warning alarm a few times. It's annoying sometimes, but you get used to it. Finally, as a 3 burner, it's very very practical. I had doubts to switch from a 4 burner, but for the same size cooktop the 3 burner has proven to be the best option for two major reasons. First of all, you hardly need to use 4 burners simultaneously and secondly, the largest burner is very handy for large flat pans and the space between the burners is very sufficient to ensure efficient use of all burners simultaneously. There's not enough space between the hotplates on the 4 burner version of the same 600mm size. I'll buy this product again.

Terrible Controls – Not very impressed by the functionality of this cooktop. The controls are a pain to use - you can not turn an individual cooktop off - you need to manually press the + or - button all the way to 0. It makes no sense and it really is annoying. I would recommend looking at a different one with better controls. Also some types of pan that work on other induction cooktops do not work on this. Show details

A quality appliance but some issues – This is an induction cooker which only operates with induction friendly pots and pans etc. The range of heat settings is more than adequate to cook a wide variety of foods. Two or more large pans can be difficult to place together over the elements as indicated on the stovetop. Controls are difficult to see and therefore operate in poor light. However the appliance works well after continuous use to gain operating experience. Show details ·  1

Thrilled to bits with this stove top – Fast efficient & easy to use this three element stove top is my best friend A medium element plus a smaller one at the back are perfect sizes However the greatest invention is the larger double one element on the left side. This will take a very large skillet, frypan even my paella pan ! Show details ·  1

Looks great and works fast – What an upgrade, from an old upright stove to this. Kitchen looks so streamline now. Plus it is so efficient. I continue to be blown away by the speed it heats up. It has taken a bit of time to get used to the touch screen and not lifting the pan off the hotplate surface or resting a tea towel on top, but I'm loving it. All my old pans were magnetic and work on Induction also.  Show details ·  1

Looks fancy – Design is nice. Easy to use. But I am very sensitive to noise, so I couldn't give five starts as it started making noise after two months, and there is no way to mute all the audible signals (beeping). I can mute other sounds except the start touch button, which makes a big beeping sound. If you live with people who have a similar life style, it… Read more

Oh Lordy what a cook top – We had been using our old cook top for the last seven years and it was a really good cook top you know how you get comfortable with your appliances well this weekend our old cook top just stopped. So sad. So off we went to the good guys as they,by far, had the biggest choice at the best prices. We had never used all four of the old plates so we… Read more ·  1

decided on a three place induction cook top as we frequently used a large pot and a smaller pot to cook with so this cook top shone out as the best value for money and the good guys had it on special as well. Bring it on. The temperature control while cooking was instant. I could turn down the temp. And it would respond really quickly. The count down timer allowed me to schedule my other parts of the dish to cook. The child lock made me feel secure that little fingers would not interfere. The cook top is easy to use, easy to clean. The temperature is easy to control. All in all an excellent cook top I think I will quickly settle into this appliance.

Glad i chose Bosch – A perfect match to the oven, which is why we chose it. Boils a big pot of cold water in 5 minutes.....brilliant. Touch panel is a bit fiddly at first, but as you get used to it, it works well. Timer function is very useful when cooking pasta. You can pretty much set and forget....  Show details ·  1
