I bought this cooktop in 2020 from Harvwy Norman. The sales rep at Harvey Norman was excellent and recommended Ariston over Bosche for everything for strength and durability, given the quality of their industrial kitchens, but unfortunately the only 5 hob electrical induction cooktop available was Bosche. As I wanted 5 hobs I bought it. Five years… Read more

later, a few months after the warranty expires - voila! Cracked glass cooktop. To replace the whole appliance for the same one would cost $1899 new at HN plus finding an electrician to install it. To have the glass replaced by a service technician will cost $975 + $158 call out fee including 20 minutes of labour + $25 for every 15 minutes after that. It's daylight robbery and such a bad environmental policy. So cost prohibitive. Everything I buy lasts for years. I will never ever buy Bosch again. They're relying on their name. A friend bought a cheap glass cooktop brand 10 years ago and it's still going strong.

Faulty BOSCH cooktop- PRS9A6D70A – I Purchased a BOSCH cooktop the latest series in Nov 2022 for my new house and started to use in May 2023. Within 2 months time, defects started to come into effect. When I turned it off, still it displays number 8 or 9 for flame. I emailed to BOSCH. The company organised a technician and he changed the circuit. Within a few days, the same issue… Read more

arise and also auto ignition did not work properly. It worked sometime and sometime not. I emailed to the company again. The customer service said to organise technician again, but I don’t want him again and again to rapair. I paid to purchase the new cooktop and if it has defects, company needs to take the responsibility and replace it or refund. Within 3 months time, It happened. This cooktop is faulty. I am very disappointed and frustrated with BOSCH. I relied on the company and purchase BOSCH appliances for my new house. I never recommend this to anyone now. When technician had fixed the issue, it still came up. It means the cooktop is faulty.

Abit disappointed at first but they fixed the problem – Bought my induction cooktop and after a short period of using, one of the burner started to have problems. Technician had no idea why but blamed the cookware. So problem wasnt fixed. Few months later after warranty ran out, the same burner stopped working. Bosch sent out a technician and fixed the problem under warranty. Show details

Faster than gas and no CO2 to breathe – When, nearly 40 years ago, we first started ‘cooking with gas’, I did wonder about ‘why are the exhaust fumes a non-issue?’ But cooking with gas was so much better than aged electric elements, I stopped asking the question. Turns out breathing fumes from gas cookers actually isn’t all that good… Even so, I hesitated to get an induction… Read more

cooktop/stove, as I hate black-on-black and clumsy old fingers don’t work well on phones, so, obviously they wouldn’t work well on an induction electric cooktop. Turned out I was wrong. This five-plate unit, now I’m used to it, with the ‘boost’ function, cooks extremely fast and well. The controls – once activated – are clear and sufficiently sensitive. For some reason, they do seem to need some familiarity to work best. Positive: boost function to get things started is addictively useful – and switches back to ‘9’ if neglected; Negative: even so, it can overboil in a deceptively short time. Negative: all the old Aluminium saucepans and glass cookware are instantly obsolete, but – any worries about cooking with aluminium are obviated. Negative: ‘rough’ ‘country-style’ frypans etc aren’t suitable for the glass surface Peculiarity/precaution: even when ‘off’, the top is sensitive to water spillages Precaution: (Only a flat-bottomed wok will work) Thin-metal woks are ridiculously easy to burn food until one masters the settings. Positive: unlike a gas or electric cooktop, very low settings will never boil. Caution: the 90cm top needs a bigger hole in the bench than does the 90cm gas cooktop it replaces – and needs a certain amount of air circulation Positive: warning lights show which parts of the cooktop are hot when cooking is completed, and switch themselves off. Positive/negative? The BLACK surface makes much of itself as a kitchen remodel; the glass surface really shows spillage and spatter, but is very easy to clean with a sponge, glass-cleaner and a dry cloth. Positive: the bevelled edges and protective aluminium sides/undersides are a ‘good thing’. Positive and negative: induction cooktops can sometimes cost more than a simple replacement gas cooktop initially, but running costs are lower, and the convenience factor is higher than for bottled gas.

Precaution: if your house is now ‘all electric’, a couple of gas camp-stoves from the camping store are a good idea, along with emergency flashlights and candles for blackouts. Tip: two single-burner gas camp gas-rings cost about 70%of one two-burner camp stove.

Price for unit was $2205, 5-year-guarantee was $248, remove/discard/install was (effectively) $204.50 (oven done at same time), 5-year fully installed price (with no trip to the tip!) was $2658.

Recommended? Absolutely (at this time, 10 months in). This one in particular? Yes. We did our research before we went to the store, and its ease of operation and cleaning were clear winners. The salesman led us straight to this one, and more expensive competitors had more disadvantages.

So Disappointing – We purchased our Bosch PIV975DC1E Induction Cooktop approximately 4 years ago and within a couple of months of purchasing it, several of the temperature buttons stopped working and we would also occasionally have trouble powering the cooktop on. Unfortunately we were silly and ignored the issues and continued to use the cooktop (having to… Read more

regularly turn the power off at the main power board in order to get it working again). The issues slowly got worse and now we can't seem to power it on at all. I contacted Bosch Customer Service who told me to buy a new one as it would likely be too costly to repair. Obviously being out of warranty it is our fault, and had we had the issues addressed as soon as it arose perhaps things would have been different but we are really burnt by this experience and couldn't ever recommend a Bosch Product again.

Very Happy with this product – We have had Bosch and Electrolux induction cooktops in previous houses and the Bosch is a great product, wouldn’t consider anything else at this stage, heats very quickly, easy to use, easy to clean, very quiet for an induction, easily controllable and heats to a very low level, looks good as well in my opinion, Overall cannot fault this unit- and it’s not made in China! Show details

Induction cooktops - way of the future – Moved into a new house - from previous gas based stove, and it had a ceramic glass cooktop. It was underwhelming to say the least. And the melted kitchen utensils and chopping boards - from accidently turning it on - weren't too happy either. So, it didn't have to pass a high bar to be 'better'. But - my wife and I are very impressed! "Better… Read more ·  1

than gas" is a phrase you hear alot with induction, well, our experience with this 90cm Bosch Cooktop - lives up to that!

The controls take a moment to get used to - but once you have the hang of it - it's great!

We chose bosch for its 'brand recognition' but also because it offered the power manager - we could limit it to the circuit/wiring from our previous cooktop. We rarely cook with more than 1 - and never more than 2 pots at once (why a 90cm cooktop you ask? We like space) so power limiting is never a problem.

It genuinely cooks/boils/heats faster than any experience we've ever had with Gas or ceramic (and in fact a kettle) with the turbo boost mode, adjusts to a new lower temperature instantly and the top cools faster than both ceramic (a given) but even the old gas trivets!

We have used it with both standard pots, but also our favourite cooking utensils - cast iron, and besides my fear of scratching the top - likely inevitable - it is a gamechanger.

We have the auto childlock on by default - a must with grabby toddler hands, but also feel like it might be overkill thanks to all the other protections this cooktop offers.

Fingers crossed it proves to be highly reliable - as you might expect from a high end Bosch appliance, and will update if anything changes!

Love this cooktop, super fast and very easy to use. Love all the timers too! – Great product. We used ours for over 2 years (before moving) and never had an issue with it. Am hoping to buy the same again for our next house. Super fast to use and I loved that all the controls were individual for each burner. Each burner has its own timer which will turn off the burner when the time runs out which was very handy when you are… Read more

a busy mum. There is also a general timer which you can use for anything. So easy to clean and wipe down if anything spills on it.

The size meant we could cook multiple things at once very easily, even if one was a large frying pan or wok.

Non existent customer service – I had three Bosch appliances installed into my new kitchen, including this review for the induction cooktop. Almost immediately we noticed the edges of the cooktop not flat onto the stone bench. Ugly to look at and crumbs and food getting caught in the gap. I called the cabinetmaker who sent out the electrician. The electrician says there is a… Read more

bow in the glass. No way i thought. Send the stonemason. He says the same thing about the glass top. I still don't believe them. The boss of the cabinetmaker firm came personally to my house early one morning. Lifted the cooktop. The cutouts are to specification. He runs a level across the cooktop and you can clearly see a spoon like bow in the glass. Ok, thanks. I'll call Bosch. They send their own man out and not a contractor as requested by me. He turns up and starts looking on his laptop. Lifts the cooktop and says the cutout is to specification. Then looks at a joint in the stone that runs through the centre of the top and says its not level. He puts his 300mm level on the stone and the bench is perfectly level, and still insists the bench is not level. Then he points out the gaps between the under side of the stone and the top of the cabinets are slightly out. So what ? The cooktop is sitting on top of the stone which is level. I put my longer 1200mm level on the stone . Perfectly level. I put my level on the glass cooktop and again you can see the glass bowed liked a spoon. He refuses to look or even or even acknowledge what's in front of his eyes. He mentions that if i think the underside of the stone bench has nothing to do with the top , then he can't see the bow ??? Then he says the glass should be flexible. What ??? There should be a bow in my glass ???? At that moment i asked him to stop lying to me and to finish what he was doing and leave. If you're going to deny what's clearly in front of your eyes and blatantly lie, please don't waste peoples time and money and don't pretend to be quality brand if you can't back your warranties up. Very disappointed !! – We Spent the extra money to buy a Bosch as we were under the misconception that they were a reliable product, we were wrong. When the warranty had just run-out we started having problems with the temperature buttons to the point that only a few worked. Contacted Bosch for assistance but was flogged off. Last Bosch product that we will buy and our friends and acquaintances say the same Show details
