Ours cost $1200 and lasted only 4 years. Hard to clean and really slow heating up. Really disappointing x\considering what a great name Bosch have.
Purchased in for $1,200.
Slow and underpowered. Annoying digital controls – We replaced our 90’s era Bosch ceramic cooktop and found the new model is slow to heat up and underpowered – at maximum it struggles to keep a full pot of water on a boil. The digital controls need multiple presses to do anything and ensure you frequently adjust the wrong zone. Such a usability fail compared with an analogue dial. Yep it’s quick to clean - if only it did it's one job like you'd expect from a higher priced German made Bosch appliance. And yes, we had this professionally installed and a new dedicated circuit run.
Purchased in at Appliances Online for $1,201.
Hard to clean and poor response from manufacturer and retailer – We purchased the cooktop wrongfully assuming it would be easier to clean than our gas cooktop. Brochure information says they are easy to clean. Not so and the top marks very easily even with new cookware, and the marks have to be polished out almost every time we use it. Also showed a plate being hot when it was switched after it being turned off at the switchboard all night. Very disappointed and were told by the salesman from Joyce Mayne that it marked easily because it was of poor quality, and the electrician probably wired it up wrong. We called Bosch but it took three calls and two broken promises before being able to speak to someone that appeared to know what he was talking about, we were considering giving it back and upgrading but this seemed to be a difficult option, and were advised by the Bosch agent that induction or ceramic would be the same insofar as cleaning it is concerned.
Purchased in at Joyce Mayne Physical store for $909.
Working well, seems good value for money – Purchased this unit a few months ago to get more glass top real estate over the standard sized bench opening. Seems easier to use and has finer control compared with the previous unit. Really like the dual ring system to heat things up rapidly then back of to a lower heat. Nice simmmer/keep hot function also. So far so good, hoping the Bosch brand by use some quality/reliability which is why we try to buy German.
Purchased for $909.
Broke after 8 months – Unfortunately this stove top didn’t match its price tag. After about 6 months the buttons became harder to get to work, then by 9 months it stopped working completely and had to have parts brought in to fix it. The man they sent to fix it thought he was returning to a job he’d had earlier, we were one of many on our tiny street that had had the exact same issue. The burners also stop working once the cook top has “reached the temperature “, however it doesn’t stay that temp so you watch your water boil then stop boiling every minute or so. If you need a consistent simmer or boil forget it. For this reason steaming vegetables takes so much longer.
