I am extremely disappointed with both the reliability of this Bosch cooktop and Bosch’s handling of a repeat fault. The cooktop was purchased in March 2024 and installed in May 2024. Within two months of installation, it suffered an electronic control failure that required replacement of the control board by Bosch. Now, less than a year later,… Read more

the cooktop has developed another electronic malfunction, where the controls repeatedly enter lock/contamination mode (hand and key symbols) and the appliance becomes unusable.

Despite this being a second electronic failure well within the expected lifespan of a premium appliance, Bosch’s response has been frustrating and obstructive. Even though the product was registered with Bosch at purchase, and Bosch previously authorised and carried out a repair using my proof of purchase, I was repeatedly asked to provide documentation again before the issue would even be escalated.

At this point, I have lost confidence in the reliability of this product. A cooktop that repeatedly disables itself due to electronic control issues is not fit for purpose. Even more disappointing is being pushed through repeated administrative hoops instead of Bosch taking responsibility for a product that has clearly demonstrated durability issues.

I would strongly caution anyone considering this model. Based on my experience, the touch controls are overly sensitive and unreliable, and Bosch’s customer support has been unwilling to take ownership of a repeat electronic failure without unnecessary delays. Disappointing for a company that prides itself on German engineering and premium quality standards.

I have never hated a product as much as this Bosch cooktop. Impossible to keep clean. The SCHOTT CERAM surface looks nice when first installed but it has taken months off my life trying to clean it after cooking. I do not believe consumers should need to buy their cleaner to attempt returning it to original state. I am preparing to rip it out and… Read more

throw it in the dump.I couldn't sell it and have a clear conscience. Do not waste your money on this product.

Bosch cermic cooktop heating elements too expensive to replace PKN675DB1A – I have had 3 of these units in the last 8 years. The first one was a Bosch cermic cooktop but I think the part number was different, it lasted 4 years and 3 elements failed on the unit. I had purchased extended warranty and the unit was inspected and it was deemed to expensive to replace the elements so the whole unit was replaced with a… Read more

PKN675DB1A. This unit had 2 elements fail and the user interface became unusable and failed between the 2nd and 3rd year of use. I had an extended warranty on this also and it was replaced with another PKN675DB1A. The unit was used for less than 1 year and an outer element failed. Again I had the extended warranty and the unit didn't even make it out of manufacturer warranty. A service agent came to inspect the fault and while the rest of the cooktop was working fine, the repairer deemed it a full replacement of the cooktop. I continued to use the cooktop for 3 weeks after the the agent had been at my house and another of the elements has failed in that time.

I am replacing the unit with an electrolux and I can't express how dissapointed I am with this produce. Bosch spares are ridiculously expensive, the products are expensive to buy, and the support is terrible in Australia. I have a Bosch dishwasher as well and I'm on the third one of these also.

I'm over Bosch and their business model in Australia and am saying they are overpriced, underperforming and overrated. There has to be better value for your dollars for white goods in other brands.

Broke five years too soon – Bought the Bosch Series 8 cooker top. Installed in December 2017. Died in June 2018. Same problem as another customer. The on/off switch sensor started to fail over two weeks, then just died completely. Response time from the repair company was excellent. Now waiting for the part which supposidly is to be shipped from Melbourne. Bosch should not break! This is a premium priced product.  Show details

Product Fails Completely - weeks to get replacement!!! – Bought the new cooktop for kitchen renovation. Installed on 2nd February 2017. Began to have problems switching on about 20th May, 2017. Reported fault to Bosch by email on 24th June, 2017 when cooktop switched itself off while cooking dinner. Phone Bosch customer care on Monday 26th June, 2017. Contacted by repair agent later that day. After a… Read more

week, phoned Bosch Customer Care 13300369744 to ask when the problem would be solved. Told parts had to come from Germany and would be at least two weeks!! Called again, on 4th July 2017, to say that since it was a total product failure I required a replacement. Finally, after demanding to speak to a supervisor, Bosch agreed to replace the unit. Then I had to email a proof of purchase despite having registered the guarantee when the product was purchased. No, I was told, that went to a different department and the two departments do no communicate!!!!

Today, 10th July, The cooktop has still not been replaced, so 16days without being able to cook at home.

Also, today I received an email asking for my feedback on the repair carried out on the appliance WHEN NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE TO FIX THE ISSUE!!!

Customer care is obviously the last care of Bosch! They could not care less.

Product failed within 5 months of installation. Avoid this product if you want a reliable product.
