This induction cooktop should not be sold – Be careful when buying this Bosch induction 'invisible' writing cooktop. Forget about finding the start icon first because you need a torch or very good eye sight because of the almost invisible writing that you don't notice in the shop. Press start and the only thing that lights up are crosses for the various pot sites. Then use your torch to see where you press for the pot site to become active. Another hurdle is for the temperature you want. The temperature icons don't light up!!!!! let alone any of the other features you might need like 'boost'. An expensive mistake and it should not be sold.

Regretful purchase - cooks well, but poorly designed – 3 year update: Still hate it. Sort of hoping it will just stop working to force me to throw it out. The main problem is the sensitivity of the top. A largish pan on the large element (front right) - so easy for it to inadvertently touch the 9 power button and full power it goes. Find myself rushing back to it to turn it down when I hear the carbonisation.

Checking something with a lid on it? Don't spill drops of condensation from the lid on the hotplate - it'll beep until you wipe it up - even turn the unit off if you ignore it. Then you have to dry it all up before you can turn it back on.

No questions about it - it's just a rushed product. I put the effort in prior to purchase and 90% of what I buy is usually excellent. This was an unexpected lemon.

Why didn't I buy this sooner!?!! – After much research, and reading reviews I selected this high-end Induction Cooktop. I was impressed by the features such as "Move Mode" where you can slide your pot, and "combi" mode, which caters for larger cookware by combining two elements. I have done a time trial, boiling 2 cups of tap water in an electric kettle, or on the stovetop in a stainless kettle. The stovetop on boost mode beat the electric kettle by 15 seconds. My favourite feature is simply the speed at which this stovetop gets up to an ideal searing heat. I wish I had bought this stovetop years ago! It's worth noting that if you are swapping to induction, that you need to have ventilation to let the heat out from under the bench. This wasn't a problem, just an extra step in the install. Fitted well in our existing 60cm Gas cut out. My only sadness is that at only 2 months old, we have somehow managed to put a scratch in the glass. I'm a little devastated, however it hasn't impacted the use. We still love our stovetop!

Superb cooktop – I have had this cooktop now for about a month and can't fault it. My original cooktop circuit was only 20 amp which I could have used as you can adjust the power settings in the cooktop, but I wanted to use it at full power so I upgraded my circuit to 32 amp. The boost mode is wonderful and is extremely powerful and the combi mode is great for large cookware. I was a bit hesitant about going induction as I was worried about the noise but I've found if you use decent quality cookware it is very quiet. The only time I can hear it is when I use the boost mode and even then it's barely noticeable. I specifically bought this model as it has Direct Key access, meaning you don't have to cycle up and down to select the desired temperature. You only need to select the zone and then the temperature. The temperature settings are 0,1 then half increments to 9 and Boost. Really easy to keep clean compared to my older cooktop with trivets. When I cook food that splatters I use a sheet of newspaper or kitchen paper under the frypan then simply throw it out and give the glass cooktop a quick wipe. And it's extremely responsive, I find it more so than gas as there's no residual heat. And another great advantage of induction is that there's no black marks or scorching on the bottom of the cookware. After having used this I could never go back to electric or gas cooking, love my Bosch. Update: I've owned and used this for a while now and love it more than ever. Works flawlessly and I've never had a single issue.
