Don't buy Bosch..you will be sorry – We have been having issues with our exact model Bosch induction since installing. The ON button was always finicky and now doesn't work at all. Even though its been hardly used and of course, it's outside their "warranty period", Bosch have held that against us even though the product supplied is clearly faulty and not due to negligence on our… Read more

behalf.

I would be happy to pay a technician to sort it out if it was due to a fault of my own but to pay for a fault that Bosch clearly was aware of since releasing the product (just read the many online complaints alone)..No, I dont have the extra $$$$ laying around to pay your technician to view the faulty item you already sold me. I've already paid you over $2000 for your faulty item, isn't that enough?

This product should've been recalled. You should be ashamed Bosch!

Button issue – Same issue with buttons not working, purchased new in 2016, had very little use and button issue has been ongoing since 2019 Update: Dec 2024 Consigned this piece of junk to the bin, replaced with Beko 90 cm induction cooktop which fits perfectly in the Bosch 80 cm smaller cutout. Very happy so far, no more Bosch rubbish for me. Show details

This is a Lemon – Like the so called 'German made' Miele KM5955 & KM6357, this appears to be a dud model specially exported to Australia because the Germans don't want crap product. Thanks Bosch. Thanks Miele.

DO NOT BUY THIS COOKTOP!!!! Updated - Bosch fixed it at no charge to me – You cannot turn this cooktop on. It's hit and miss and of course the warranty has lapsed. Sometimes you get lucky - other times you don't. Don't waste your hard earned money on this product - you will regret it! Update: Bosch contacted me and fixed the problem with no charge. Cooktop works perfectly now and is great.

Once the control board was replaced, it has been fantastic – I purchased this cooktop in 2017 I think, and had the control panel fail within 18 months, as most are reporting. Bosch will deny it's a manufacturing fault until you state the amount of similar issues, then it was replaced free of charge which was a good result. But Bosch should be fronting up and offering (or via recalls), not as per their… Read more

comments in others review (it obviously is a poor batch of electronic panels made where the sensor detiorates).

Anyway, I love it. As an ex-chef I'm used to flat stove tops heated by gas underneath, but burning gas is not efficient as a great deal of the energy is lost between the source (gas flame) and the target (pan). These are instant in reaction, with little residual heat remaining in the pan itself, and it's very fast to heat up (water, etc.).

Major benefits are exceptionally easy cleaning, rapid control, aesthetics and efficiency. If you take care of it and don't go sliding cast iron pans etc around heavily, then it won't scratch. Use a very soft benchtop cleaner product and it comes up like new (it's still in as new condition).

Pans - we have found that Scanpan Coppernox pans are exceptionally good (as they have a copper wedge in the base for even heat distribution) and are worth every cent (we have the 28cm saute pan which most things are cooked in (cleaning that with "barkeepers friend" now and again) and actually Target make some very good quality thick based stainless steel saucepans that we have used for more than 4 years now and they are great. Glass lids, steam release and even heat. Basically, the cheap pans with poor bases won't do well (cheap frying pans for example), so spend properly and spend once.

In summary, I would recommend it. Hope that helps

Bosch PXE875DC1E buttons not working – Well same issue as stated time and time again. Shame as its a great Cook-top, if you can turn it on that is. After at least a year of thinking it was us not cleaning the top adequately, it now no longer turns on at all and it appears there is a known fault in the electronics... this is a complete fail and so very disappointing Note also not responsive to either mediation attempts or phone calls. This is a totally unsatisfactory situation Show details

Cookware? – Installed 12 months ago. Hit and miss finding suitable cookware. Have returned 2 ceramic Tefal frypans (took forever to heat up and had curved base...and one Tefal Jamie Oliver non stick deep pan That had uneven heat distribution - burnt food in the centre and the rest low heat. The only frypan that is good is the lecruset, but I want a larger… Read more

frypan for stir fry and non stick with a good heat distribution base and not cast iron - can anyone give feedback, please? S/steel cooking pots seem to work ok. I wish I had installed half induction/gas!?!

Buttons not working – Like the other reviews on here we are facing the same issue with the buttons not working, outside of warranty of course. Judging by all the reviews this is a known fault whether Bosch decides to agree or not. I expect the cook-top to either be replaced or fixed free of charge considering the immense cost of this thing. Show details

On button not working – Like other reviewers, over 2 years of owning (and of course out of warranty) the on button has stopped working. Spoke to Bosch who didnt acknowledge it was a known fault, when clearly going by this website it is a known issue. Have been told a technician is coming out at our own expense, but you would think after $2K out of pocket, you would get more than 2 years out of it. It is clearly not fit for purpose. Show details

Bosch Cook top Review – We purchased this cooktop two years ago when we built our new house. The on button for the cook top has progressively got worse to a point now (just after the two year warranty) that it can take half an hour to turn on. Given the the other reviews here this is clearly a manufacturing flaw. I expect to the cook top to be replaced free of charge… Read more

given it is only 2 years old and there is clear proof that it is a design flaw. Has anyone had this cooktop replace free of charge?

Same problem as everyone else – Love cooking with my induction cooktop, but as per all the other reviews the cooktop has been increasingly difficult to turn on. I tried for over an hour the other day and still couldnt get it to work. We have a technician booked to look at it this week, so fingers crossed it gets fixed. For those having the same issue, we found one way to get it… Read more

to work was to turn the power off and have your finger over the on button whilst turning the power back on. Not ideal as it requires 2 people, but worth a try if you are desperate.

We love it but buttons progressively harder to press and now don't work at all – First of all, we LOVE our Bosch induction 80cm cooktop, looks beautiful and cleaning is a breeze. I would never go back to gas or electric after using one, but there are definitely issues with control board which we really hope Bosch fixes in the future. We're booking a service and hopefully Bosch fix soon. Will let you know how it goes. Show details

No longer turns on – Like so many others, became increasingly difficult to turn on, until it gave up completely. Lodged a fault with Bosch, citing email as preferred contact, so they ring me and leave a message asking if I still want to keep a service ticket open... What??? Show details ·  2

Increasingly difficult to turn on – Love the cooktop when it turns on but... the initial electronic board needed replacement after only a couple of months of use (due to the same issue). A year on and the stove top is again becoming increasingly difficult to turn on, some days taking around 10 min to get going. (We tried light/no light, warmth/cold, turning off for 5+ min, etc all… Read more

to no avail). After a week of waiting for a service repair support call yesterday we were unable to get the cooktop on at all after nearly an hour of trying. Very frustrating when preparing dinner for guests.

Induction good but touch button now erratic – Have had it for nearly a year and has been excellent to use, compared to electric and even gas. Has had intermittent turning on issues for about 3 months.. sometimes instant, sometimes takes longer like 5 seconds etc. Thought it was greasy surface nope, hot or cold fingers nope. Well today finally it wont turn on no matter how many different things i tried. Will need to contact Bosch warranty on look at the finger sensor. Show details

Bosch Serie 8 Induction Cooktop review 80CM issues problems warning – Unfortunately same as other reviews. Progressively harder and harder to switch on until complete failure on a Sunday night on a long weekend with a dinner party and hungry kids to attend too - got to love it! This device is only months old and is from Boschs "Top of the range". As an Engineer I can understand that the manufacturing process is… Read more

very complex and there can sometimes be issues - but a total circuit board failure after only a few months of service is not acceptable from a premium product. When problems do occur they need to be attended to fast but unfortunately we have been without a working cooktop for almost 3 weeks! Bosch - this is not acceptable and Australian Consumer Law is very clear on complete failure of products and full replacement or full refund, they are also very clear on "life expectancy" of products. When parts did finally arrive they were installed by "Ash" from Bunneys/Matic services and I highly recommend him, he was very carful and gentle with the cooktop so top marks there but the entire cooktop should have been replaced within a week of the total failure! Bosch Australia - I have done research online and it appears Bosch Serie 8 circuit board failure is a common problem as there has been a change in part number for the circuit board, this is a clear indication of a manufacturing issue ----- Bosch Australia can you please confirm that you have installed an upgraded circuit board????? Bosch Australia - I don't won't to be in a position where another dodgy circuit board has been installed just to get your Bosch Serie 8 Induction Cooktop to clear your warranty! Just remember Bosch Australia the ACL is very clear about life expectancy from products and on items like this it's a minimum of 5 Years.

Nightmare from day one – After constantly chirping at you for minutes on end, driving you nuts, now its a 10 minute epic of trying to turn it on, after being condescendingly told by the operator at bosch that it's operator error and i will be charged for a service call, $2400 plus back up warranty, did i mention it is a nightmare to clean?
