You only have to look at this product and it will scratch. We treat it with the utmost care and it is ruined after a few months. You cannot even slightly most a pan on it without a scratch.

Very pleased upgrade – We upgraded from our old electric cooktop to an induction cooktop. I love the how it is so easy to keep clean. It heats up fast and the controls respond quickly. I already had some induction cookware and our house didn't require new wiring to suit it. The only problem I have is the grilling option isn't recognizing my special induction grill pan, so I've been just using the normal heat settings to grill meat. Otherwise I am very pleased with it.

Very temperamental cooktop -- Now repaired – When our old electric cooktop needed to be replaced we decided to go the induction route. We liked the looks of this cooktop and the fact that it was very flexible with the cooking zones that can be joined. We wanted one we could use four pots on at once. Of course induction requires some new pots and pans as some of ours were not suitable. That was known beforehand and not a problem. We also understood we would have to upgrade our home wiring to the cooktop which we did. This is to say with any induction cooktop there may be extra expenses that should be anticipated.
The cooktop itself is not cheap, but not nearly the most expensive induction cooktop on the market. We believed the Bosch name meant quality.
Our problem is that sometimes the cooktop just does not recognise the cookware and shuts the burner off. Sometimes it is very difficult to switch on. It is temperamental when it comes to any liquid on the surface or on your fingers. When it works, it works quickly and is excellent for frying and quick heating. The problems though are so persistent and frustrating (daily problems) that I would not recommend this cooktop to anyone. ----
Update: Bosch sent someone to look at the cooktop and discovered a defective main board. The repair was done and now the cooktop works brilliantly. I wish it had worked from day one, but I am thankful for the response from the Bosch representative below and the proactive stance they took.

Thank you for following up. The cooktop had a defective part which has now been replaced. Since the cooktop always "worked" we thought it was simply a poor design. Now that the defective part has been replaced it works as we had hoped and anticipated. We were very happy with the response by Bosch and are now happy with the cooktop.

Poor after sales service – Have had trouble from the start and it finally stopped working within few months after purchase. I have been waiting for it to be fixed since over 6 weeks with several parts being changed with no effect and Bosch will still not consider replacing the unit.
