Happy with performance. Disappointed with lifespan – The machine's performance has been flawless since purchase in 2017. Now, in 2025, the drum bearing is failing. The quote to repair is over $1k. Sadly, this is not worthwhile. Given that the average life of a washer is 14 years, we are disappointed. We had purchased an extended warranty, but that is over. Have to seriously consider what our next machine will be as we are in the market for a replacement. Show details

Bad combo poor shock absorbers – Disappointing machine. Would never recommend washer dryer combo. The dryer function is pretty much useless. The washing function is also poor. Shock absorbers do not last. Have replaced once and they have failed again within 2 years. Machine only lasted about 4 years until the first issues. Will not be replacing shock absorbiers again. Time for this poor choice to be sent to the scrap heap. Show details

Pretty good value for the combo - once I resolved the marks on clothes – Feb 2021 After posting on another forum and many suggestions I think we've finally got somewhere. I've reduced the spin cycle on each wash to 1000 (from the default 1400) for a month or so now and haven't had any more marks. Sounds like it happens a bit on newer machines and the faster spin cycles. The suggestion from someone was to drop the cycle… Read more ·  1

below 1100 and it shouldn't cause the marks any longer. Seems to have worked for me. So, it's kind of a nuisance to have to change it each time, but much better than having to rewash items once or twice more.

Jan 2021 update Today I washed a double flat sheet, a double fitted sheet (both white), two cotton pillow cases on a 'perfect' cotton cycle, 90 degrees. The flat sheet came out with grey streaks in various spots and the fitted with some but fewer. In the last fortnight I'd cleaned all the rubbers and and grooves in between the rubber seal and the metal drum, drained the pump etc. Last week a regular wash of t-shirts and jeans left whiteish streaks on a couple of the dark t-shirts. I'm fairly convinced it's a lint build up but no idea where to find it, there just doesn't seem to be anywhere else. I've had it appear on white jeans, which I washed two more times (the last time as the single item in the wash) before the streaks were gone. So, I'm a little over it. I'll be contacting Bosch to see what the problem is. Photos included.

Dec 2020 update In recent washes it has been leaving grey streaks across items, particularly light but also others. Mostly cotton-based. They look like grease, but I think it is build up from the rubber seal around the door. Despite cleaning a number of times it still happens and I've had to pre-wash spray and rewash up to two more times. The rubber seal is not that easy to clean, but doable, and based on other research I've done this might be more likely with machines that are a washer-dryer combo, but that's just anecdotal.

May 2020 I had to replace a 17yo LG washing machine, which I wasn't really looking foward to. I'm really pleased with my choice. I could have spent less on just a washing machine, and worried that at this price end of the market it wouldn't stack up. But, after two months I reckon it's pretty good. It's quiet, reasonably fast cycles (well compared to the previous machine), fairly straightforward to use, although I did adjust some of the settings for one wash and the next wash it defaulted to the same. I couldn't change and I"m still not sure what I did, but seems to be back to normal now. I don't think the instructions for this are very intuitive. I've found the drying not too bad. You can't put in a whole wash, but then a wash is 8kg and a dry is 4.5, so you'd have to take some out anyway. I usually let it air for a bit anyway. There was a little water coming out of the bottom of the machine for a wash or two, but I think there might have been too much in there. Hasn't done it in a long time. But, my biggest criticism is probably the soap dispenser. It's never clear of soap. I don't use big scoops and there is always a big glob, up to half of the soap powder left in there. It's very annoying. I've tried cleaning it, giving the little latch a jigger to no avail. Just one of those annoying thing. I'm still reasonably pleased, one of the biggest plusses is just how quiet it is (except for the beeping after it's finished, but that stops after a while). The timer is excellent for ensuring finished loads don't sit in the washing machine any longer - we can have it run during the day (making use of solar) for when we get home. It's probably not suitable for a large household, but for a small one it should be ok.

Does NOT perform as advertised (Dryer Function) – TLDR: I purchased this machine in 2021. Unfortunately the dryer does not perform as advertised. I also wouldn’t recommend based on my experience with the customer care team. "AutoDry saves time and energy by automatically stopping the drying process once it's complete" - From the Bosch Au website. A technician came to inspect the item. I… Read more

demonstrated the result to him, it finished a wash&dry just after he arrived. He agreed the clothes were far too wet to put away.

He explained that these machines do not work too well and there isn’t anything he could do or fix. He marked it as so but said I should speak to Care anyway. I've tried with small loads, medium loads, every dryer setting, after cleaning the drum, in warm wash, cold wash, a warm room, a cold room... I've done everything. The technician said that it's just the way they're built. I called customer care again, they said a case manager would call back. They didn’t. I called again, same thing. I emailed, no reply. I don’t have a resolution, 4 weeks after the tech attended. Update 2023: they sent a third party technician to replace a part inside. It has helped in a minor way, but nowadays I just live with it and run the cycle twice. Annoying but not a lot I can do

Not what I expected for a Bosch Appliance – Mostly use this machine to wash towels and sheets. Would probably use the machine 3-4 loads every fortnight. Purchased machine in July 2021 It leaves great big black marks on my washing. I initially thought it was because it was a new machine and it was left over grease from the manufacturing process, but I was wrong, it didn't get any better.… Read more

When a service man finally got in contact with me, tried to indicate it may be the washing powder i'm using, dirty water, dirty washing machine, a reaction between the water and the washing powder, the excuses just kept coming. The clothes aren't dry after using the dryer part of the machine. Contacted Bosch on 4 January 2022 re this problem and it is now 4 March 2022 and I am still without a washing machine.

There were many nay-sayers, but I'm so glad I went for it – I'm accused of overloading my machine so it doesn't wash properly - not an issue here. This bosch washes incredibly well. And it has a 1 hr speed wash, which works very effectively so I don't feel I have to cram it all in one go (and when I do I set it to eco, which is more aligned to usual front loader wash time). For the dryer, I only wanted… Read more ·  1

this for the odd occasion an item of clothing or sheet needed to be dried in winter. I gave it a run on a wash/dry cycle with a set of cotton single sheets plus a flannelette pillow case. 3hrs 40 mins later I opened the door to hot and dry sheets. The flannelette case was still slightly damp, so I'm guessing it works better with lighter materials. Overall I love this machine as a washer and I'm grateful to have a back up plan for those few weeks when it doesn't stop raining.

Washer perfectly, dryer not so – My previous purchases have been a washer and dryer separately. This time I purchased a washer/dryer combo by Bosch. The washing cycle washes clothes perfectly but the dryer leaves the towels not completely dry. Very disappointing. Will have to purchase a separate dryer that will do the job properly. Added expense. Worse machine I've ever owned – I purchased this for a whopping $1500 hoping to replace a 20 year old washing machine and dryer that were so old they were starting to rust. I wanted compact as I had a small laundry. From the start it was fussy with the controls, locking the door when it wanted. It could never accept more than a few items such as max 3 light towels as it was so… Read more

small.

Drying took forever if it was too full and it decided for itself how to dry stuff. If the load contained several heavy material items and a light material item, it would stop drying when the light item was dry but still continue operating until it decided it was done on Auto. If given a set time it would finish with one light item dry and the heavy items still very wet. Basically loads of clothes had to be separated based on material heaviness or you could spend 6 hours running the drying and still never get anything dry. When it would dry it would take up to 2 hours and clothes would come out slightly damp. You would then have to hang them up for a few hours or they would get a wet, mildew smell if folded straight away or left in a basket.

Washing was very average with clothes often coming out smelling still slightly dirty even on the best setting. I only used front loader ok liquid and the same I had always used for my previous machine. Maintenance consisted of cleaning wet, 'hairball' like lint lumps from the rubber lining at the entrance to the machine after each wash. They never dried and would make the machine smell like a wet cat if left after the wash. The manual stated something about letting a valve at the bottom drain occasionally. When done it always had stale water in it and if not done often that stale water smell would get all over the clothes. I only used the machine aprox 50 times and had to drain it around 4-5 times.

It has now suddenly stopped drying clothes at all. No heat. It's not worth the cost to have it repaired especially when I am vulnerable to Covid and cannot have visitors. After a bad experience with other items from the same brand dying just outside of warranty, I was surprised this lasted 5 years... except it was barely used because it was too small for most stuff. I'd estimate I used it only 50 times in 5 years. A waste of money. I will never buy Bosch ever again.

Issue with drying function – Had wanted a washer dryer for so long. I can get around the issue, but it’s still annoying and something isn’t right. There’s a timer to change drying time. However if I choose a time, it won’t run at all. It will only run on the preset 2.5 hours. They never dry in that time (even only filling the clothes to half of the barrel). So I’d like to… Read more

choose 3 or 4 hours. I’ve tried everything. Since it doesn’t work, I have to do the 2.5 then run it again. Then stop it after an hour or so if I don’t want to waste power. But by that time I’m usually at work or in bed, so n the end it runs for 5 hours which is unnecessary.

The other issue, again with the dryer, is once it’s finished, the door won’t unlock. I read it has a cooling down function that will stop you opening the door for a certain amount of time. So I left it for a whole day after it finished drying in the night. It still wouldn’t unlock. Even if I turn it off, it won’t unlock. Only if I put it on a wash option without pressing start, it will open.

What is going on?

A technician is coming around next week but I have no confidence in this machine, as even if whatever it could be, concerned it could occur again or set the house on fire. The drum still smells of smoke even after a week and a half. Laundromat washing & drying isn't the best at the moment either.

vents out the back of the machine and you need to leave a little bit of space at the back, maybe that is why some users are not getting the drying results they should. A regular wash/drycame out in the same condition as a regular dryer, although taking longer which you have to be aware of when buying a washer dryer.

It does not sit as flush as my LG did in the cabinetry I have, it is in a European laundry, if you have it in a kitchen you would need a deeper cabinet.

Overall very happy with the purchase. As per other people the quick wash/dry, you have to select that with the dial and then press the dry button and Auto 1. worked a treat....

Unfortunately the drying really lets this product down. I found myself often setting very small loads to a simple wash & dry cycle that takes around 120 - 180 minutes. Everytime, I would still need to put the clothes through another 1 hour dry cycle or maybe two.

If you're looking for a replacement for your dryer, I can't recommend this product. If you're looking for something to do a wash and a light dry before you hang out your clothes anyway, this might suit.

After few more days we are noticing that the rubber seal is starting to disintegrate and we know that this is resulting in water leak. Rubber seal disintegration starts @ the point where the glass door is contacting the rubber seal. Lodged a service call with Bosch and they said it would take few days for repairs. But, It's has been more than a week now after lodging a service call, this is yet to be assessed and or repaired... and luckily, we reconnected our old Samsung washing machine to wash our clothes. I searched on internet and found numerous threads related to Bosch washing machine's rubber seal problems. This seems to be a common problem with this brand https://forums.whirlpool.net.au/archive/2217839 this thread goes as far as 2010 mentioning same/similar rubber seal problems. These threads contain information from various countries not just Australian one's with same and or similar problems. Surely, someone would have thought of addressing this problem after almost a decade of knowing about this problem, instead of blaming customers on incorrect usage.

But the cost of fix seems to be almost one fifth the cost of this machine.

Never had this particular problem with my trusty Samsung front loader though.

Annoyingly it can wash more than it can dry, so if doing a big wash, we have to remove clothes and hang some to let the drier work peoperly. After 2 years of putting up with average results, it seems the pump has.blown as it keeps stopping mid cycle and giving us "error18" messages.  Show details

Pricey but worth it - time and space saver – Very pleased with this washer/dryer combo. Runs quiet and cleans clothes well. Pricey but still cheaper than a separate washer and dryer. Takes up less space as well. Doesn't require any ducting which made installation a breeze. I like using the timer function to wash/dry using off-peak electricity. I've owned this machine for over a year now and no problems.

Mild criticisms:

Dryer sometimes finishes before the clothes are bone-dry. Which is probably good for the clothes, but it means airing them on the drying rack. I'd like a "roast the clothes into cinders" mode.

Wash capacity is greater than drying capacity. So to use the automatic wash/dry sequence you must do half-loads. Or remove part of a washed full load before manually starting the dry cycle.

Drain filter is a pain to clean. Lint filter is pretty easy though.
