How to reset a Bosch series 6 WNA254U1AU combo washer
Washer Dryer WNA254U1AU
Is there a lint filter on this washer dryer combo that needs to be cleaned? There is no reference to to this in the User Manual. Where does the fluff from the drying cycles go?
No there is not a lint filter for the washer/dryer combo. I assume the fluff goes out with the waste water. There is an impeller/pump located at the bottom right hand side of the machine (behind an access panel). This pump/impeller can get blocked and there is also a hose in the same location for draining the washer, if the pump or your drain hoses get blocked. Maybe worth inspected after completing a cycle and all of the water has been pumped out of the machine.
Just had a guy out to fix my washer/dryer (for the second time in a fortnight) that wasnt heating properly in the dry cycle. He mentioned that there was also a lot of hair trapped behind the fan (inaccessible to consumers), and apparently theres no filter to prevent that happening, and bosch wont typically cover repair costs associated with problems caused by the trapped hair. so that's fun and definitely not bad design
Do I need to clean out a lint trap for the dryer component of the serie 6? I can’t find anywhere to do this. Where does the lint go?
This is a washer dryer so, you can clean the drain filter located inside the bottom front panel if you want to clean the fluff. This is a messy job, as water will be in the system. There is not the typical lint trap for a dryer only model. Another downside of a washer dryer model. I replaced this washer dryer with a washing maching only. Best move. New washing machine is so much better than washer dryer combo.
Is there a pedestal available for this model as I am getting conflicting answers ?
Yes. We got one from Appliances Online that suits for $275. It has a lockable drawer to keep chemicals away from kids and pets.
Hi Robbie, If you have model WVH28490AU you are able to purchase WMZ20540WW Pedestal for Washer and Dryer. This is able to purchase through our website or by calling our spare parts team on 1300 369 744 and quoting part number #10001484. Regards, Bosch Home Australia
Does the "Refresh" cycle use water or is it more of an airing out? And how hot does the cycle get?
In the manual, no temperature is indicated for that cycle's wash temperature, and drying options are similarly listed as null. It describes that the programme is for reducing odours and refreshing garments "that don't need frequent washing like linen or suits." But it's rather short on information about what temperatures this involves or even whether water is used inside the drum or not. It seems a waste to put some old garment or rag in there just for test purposes - and watch it for an hour to see if it gets wet? And I am afraid even that may still leave me in the dark about what temperature it might be in the drum at any stage during the cycle. I love the concept but I'm scared to try it out in case it ruins expensive items.
After 2 years of great use water has started leaking through the service panel. We’ve tried to empty and clean the filter but it’s still leaking water
Hi, our Bosch washer dryer is working well BUT, when the load has washed to 36 minutes there is a long beep. The wash keeps going but reverts to 1hr and 1 minute.
Hi, trying to find out how the Bosch WVH28490AU washer dryer combo heats water. From memory it only connect to a cold water tap and would have a heating element that heats the water for hot cycles. I recall the clothes being somewhat warm when taking them out of the machine after a hot wash cycle. Now they are cold. I also heard a loud pop the other day before noticing the hot washes being cold to touch. Would I be right in thinking the heating element or wiring is busted? If so, what is the warranty and repair process for a machine bought in 2019?

My wash machine does not finish the program, it goes on for much longer when it gets to last 11 minutes.
Same here. Anybody found the problem and a cure?

Same problem here in Europe. Just stucks at 11 minutes and overdrying clothes till manually turned off. This started after sudden blackout during previous drying cycle.
Same happening here too. Does anyone have an explanation or outcome?
Anyone found a solution to this? 11 minutes seems to be the number where it holds the cycle until the cycle is dry enough. I do have the cupboard dry + mode set so this might be making it dry so much, yet to confirm this or if its a fault. it has been on 11 minutes for 15mins now, I'm undecided if i should stop it or let it complete.
EDIT: Ok I ended up stopping it, every towel except 1 was overdried, the other still slightly damp. I suspect I overloaded the machine causing it to sense moisture but not able to dry that towel due to the location in the drum. I'll do some more tests but suspect this is the issue in my case today.
Hi Glynn, Thanks for the question regarding your Bosch washer dryer. There could be a couple of different reasons the machine can be adding more time to a program. This could be due to the machine sensing that the there is still moisture in the clothing, too large a load to be dried, the sensor not able to register this properly (please make sure that the sensor and machine is cleaned regularly as per the manual). If this is all checked and you are experiencing the issue please contact us on 1300 369 744 with your model details and we will be able to assist further. Regards, Bosch Home Australia
I have the same problem - after 11 minutes, it continues to dry for over an hour, and all clothes become overdried. I cleaned the filter on the bottom - it was almost clean and nothing changed after cleaning. Where I can find the sensor? My model is Serie 6, 10/6
Same machine, same problem. The problem is the lint which is supposed to be washed away during the drying cycle. Unfortunately, it doesn't. It starts clogging the sensors, one by one. I had the machine stripped apart and cleaned in Jan'23 and now the same problem has started recurring. The filter that you are cleaning is the fluff filter. The lint doesn't land up here.
This is the issue: external link
We had the same problem, it stops at 11 minutes to the end with drying and spins for another hour. The husband opened the machine from the top and disconnected the pressure switch and blew it. After that, she completed the drying cycle. I hope this advice will help you too.
Is there a lint filter for the dryer that needs to be cleaned as on other dryers? Nothing in Instruction Manual - earlier answer to same question on this page referred to p30 of Manual which is not relevant
No nothing. The lint is gathered and flushed out with water. You need to clean the rubber seals OFTEN because of this. Always dry the rubber seal after every use. It will prevent rot and mould.
Thank you - something Bosch might explain in the manual?
We have a 7/4 serie 6 wash + drier. Recently a tradie smashed the outer glass on the door. My wife has still been using the machine as the inside glass was not damaged, however it looks unsightly and I’m not sure if it’s a good idea to use it in its current condition. Can anyone tell me if we can replace the door or do we need to buy a new machine? With thanks
Can the Serie 6 be used as a stand alone dryer? And HOW does one do that(?)
Yes, it can be used as a dryer. You load wet or damp clothes in and select either Intensive Dry or My Drying Time. I dry clothes on the line but sometimes use Intensive Dry to dry things that have been rained on. However, you would not buy this machine to use just as a dryer because it is much more expensive than a dryer.
Is it possible to choose the temperature for the dryer? We have some very delicate compression garments that need to be dried sometimes at relatively low temperature
No
Unfortunately, no. I'd be air drying compression garments anyway (fairly sure the care instructions would say the same)
Hi Jojo, Thanks for the question regarding your Bosch Washer Dryer. When washing garments that have special requirements it is best to observer what is recommended by the clothing manufacture. If you need any more help, feel free to contact us on 1300 369 744. Regards, Bosch Home Australia
When the machine recalculates the time required can I reset it to my original requested time?
I bought a Bosch Serie 6 about 1 year ago and firstly may I say this is the BOMB! So glad I bought it, works brilliantly, perfect for someone in a small flat. My question is; today I managed to program the machine to wash and then dry my clothes, without having to start the dry manually. The problem is, I don't know how I did it! Is there a program setting for this, and can you send it to me so I can do it again? It would be great to be able to wash/dry in one go, but I don't want to do it every time.
Hi Thalia K, Thanks for your question. We'd like to help, if you email us at socialmedia.au@bshg.com, quoting BSH16338 in the subject line with your contact number, model details and your proof of purchase we’ll investigate for you. Regards, Bosch Home Australia.
Select the dry setting so that the Iron symbol, the cupboard, or the cupboard plus symbol is lit on the display. These won't be available with every program but certainly are for the main ones like Cotton. It should then change the recommended weight that flashes on the screen from a 10KG TO 5KG, or less if Speed Perfect is selected.
My Bosch series 6 washer dryer very frequently will not open when cycle is finished and 'off' button is pressed leaving washed and dried clothes inside the washer inaccessible.
Mine too. The way around it is to put it onto a wash cycle without pressing start and it opens. Also recently I noticed it also unlocks if I hit the start button once (so it doesn’t start but stops flashing). Other than these I can’t see a fix. Something hasn’t been made right.
Thankyou very much
Mine did as well. I turned off completely, left for 10 secs and turned back on then it seemed to work.

Just press the 'start' button again, it will unlock then you can check if it's dry, or reset for another 15mins.
Our Bosch washer will follow a cycle and it will show 4 minutes to so and then change to 14 minutes and then change again -any thought’s
All front loader washing machines do this in my experience.
thanks Tanya I was worrying it was on its way out
