We acquired five esteemed Bosch kitchen appliances for my newly established kitchen, including a Steam Combi Oven, a Pyrolytic Oven, a Built-In Coffee Machine, and two Warming Drawers. Of these items, the only one that functions correctly is the warming drawers; though we seldom use one, we hold it in high regard. The oven, mainly its steam… Read more

function, has seen minimal usage. The coffee machine we utilise daily was the first to exhibit a touchscreen malfunction and was subsequently replaced under warranty. I was dissatisfied with paying an additional $800 to account for the price difference, as the original unit was no longer available, resulting in a disjointed colour scheme. Nevertheless, I am grateful to have my cherished coffee machine operational again. The second item that experienced a failure was the touchscreen of the Combi Oven. It was repaired under warranty just before the expiration of that warranty; despite my questions about what seemed to be a common issue with the touchscreens, I was assured it would work perfectly. Regrettably, shortly thereafter, it malfunctioned again, restricting our usage to only a few options as one side of the touchscreen became unresponsive. The Concierge Gold Service denied my claim, stating that the warranty had lapsed. Furthermore, our pyrolytic oven's touchscreen has failed, making it inoperable and now out of warranty. All five items were purchased on November 6, 2018, and I find it profoundly disappointing and distressing that they have not operated correctly for a minimum of ten years. The reason we chose Bosch was for the said quality and engineering. It is alarming that three of the highly rated, German-engineered Bosch units we acquired have all malfunctioned similarly; why has a known product recall not been initiated? Would someone be able to help us?

Poor design leading to rust – Although the inside of the oven is protected with a coating, it seems that the microwave 'glass' in the top of the oven is only attached with 3 screws and retaining plates, being of poor quality, so that they rust and also leave a weak point for the coating as well. So now the oven has 3 rusted holes inside it. No help from warranty repair/replace despite obvious product/design defect Show details

Touch panel fails – Touch panel has failed for the 5th time in 8 years on all 3 units. Bosch discussed replacing the appliances but have now stated they are out of warranty and don't want anything to do with it. Be careful as they will promise you a lot and deliver little. Coffee machine has only produced 54 cups Show details

Lousy product! – Worked less than 2 years after installation in Jan 2023. Expensive oven but it was the size I wanted. Unfortunately I had delays with my kitchen reno, so it was a few years before I had it installed by an electrician. I even called AppliancesOnline to check if I could return it a couple years after I bought it, but they told me there would be… Read more

costs to do that. The Bosch service person blamed cockroaches and small ventilation holes for the EO511 fault, but I cleaned it every week at least and the oven vents to the front for a few minutes after use and I often kept it open afterwards and gave it a wipe over to prevent grime build up. Just giving excuses for a lousy product. Quoted price of Bosch repair - $770. Out of everything I have done in my kitchen reno, buying this product is what I regret most.

Avoid at all costs. This product is a lemon!!! – Wish I had read reviews before buying this oven. I bought this oven recently and installed it in my brand new home. It's never worked from day one. The touch screen doesn't work. I contacted Bosch who told me this is a known issue with this model. Why is Bosch selling products with known issues? This is a recent purchase. The front panel was… Read more

replaced to fix the touch screen and the new touch screen also broken. Will not work at all. Zero customer support to resolve this issue. It's an absolute disgrace and I'll never buy another Bosch product again.

Inner door exploded – Inner glass suddenly exploded. Oven is 7 years old, close to $500 to replace through Bosch. Clearly a product fault however they will not take ownership. Most major appliances work for decades without faults but not Bosch. So much for German quality. Avoid this brand at all costs Show details

Control Panel Issues - Bosch have gone above and beyond to rectify my issues – I purchased a CSG656RS1A Compact Steam Oven and a HRG6767S2A Pyro Steam Oven just over 3 years ago and neither has been heavily used. The Control panel on the Compact Steam Oven started to play up late last year not allowing some options to be selected on the touch panel. This has become progressively worse over time to the point that I now can't… Read more ·  3

select anything and use the oven or even set the clock. In recent weeks the main oven HRG6767S2A which has the same control panel has started to play up and it now appears heading down the same path and getting worse. I have had other Bosch products in the past and purchased these as they were made in Germany and appeared good value. It would appear there is some design fault given these are both having the same issues and it is very disappointing and appears to have been a very bad choice on my behalf as i would have preferred to pay considerably more for a reliable appliance that would last. While these are out of warranty I would have expected a far longer service life and if the panels need replacing the risk of the problem re-occurring may not be worth the cost. I will see if this issue can be resolved reasonably with customer service before make a more comprehensive review on the two products.

Avoid - unless you want to be driven mad! – It may actually work well, but as the thing is so complex to operate we may never know. Badly written instructions booklet is unclear and confused. The much-vaunted control ring is a joke; like something found on an ancient videotape recorder. It sometimes works… and sometimes it doesn't. Tip: try slightly wetting your finger before using.… Read more

Frankly, I will probably never buy a Bosch appliance again. This piece of over-complex nonsense has destroyed my faith in a once excellent brand.

Only had it a week and its throwing error code E6200 as per other reviews – Purchased it for our new home along with a matching Pyro oven. The oven works ok, but the combi microwave stops and throws error E6200 after 1 minute.... As a microwave when it works its sub par. The temperature it uses is very low and you need to double the time it would normally take to cook or heat anything. Show details

Microwave/oven - wall insert type - – Appliance no longer functions & will not even boil water in a test. Appliance is " arcing" from the tray to chrome plated grill insert at oven back. Unit is over 4 years old & has not been used much. Repair options are very expensive May end up having to be replaced. Poor end possibly for an expensive product Show details

Piece of trash – Microwave function is near useless. $2500 microwave and we still use the $200 Panasonic in the garage. Pretty much double any time any recipe calls and don’t even think about some sneaky popcorn. Update: Bosch sent a tech out and replaced magnetron. Same garbage. Can’t cook popcorn and takes forever to cook anything. Show details

A great oven but i'd expected it to last longer - Extend your warranty – What do i own currently in the kitchen? NEFF induction, NEFF steam, NEFF combi-oven and an a standard AEG multipurpose oven. I were in pursuit of a new microwave wall oven after building a new house to replace my well weathered freestanding Sharp microwave of almost 9years. While shopping at E&S Trading, the BOSCH CMG656RS1A caught my eye.… Read more

Impressed with its features i decided on this oven over the lower model CMG633BS1B. The multi-combi functions, grilling and rapid heating are fantastic, cleaning is a breeze and the racks remove easily. I couldn't fault this for features and looks.

Now... 3 years old (note: in operation for only 2 1/2yrs) and just last week while using the microwave only, smoke started coming from the top of the oven and then it shut down. No it wasn't the food unfortunately but i only wish. The convection oven and grill still work fine but I simply don't trust using it in case of a fire. The only other issue since it was installed was every now and again the 1000w selection on the display just doesn't respond. I simply couldn't replicate the fault consistently enough to report it. I contacted E&S Trading and they couldn't help me as it only has a 2 year warranty.

I'd would have expected a microwave oven worth over $3200 rrp to last longer than my $275 purchase and this simply hasn't lasted its reasonable life. Disappointing purchase :-(

Good - BUT, Circular display cracking – I bought this oven in April 2017 and have only used it minimally over that time to supplement our other Bosch oven. The microwave feature is great and as it's dual use it is is extremely versatile. I have a problem with the display window however, from about 6-8 months ago the round clear display started to crack, hardly noticeable at first then… Read more ·  1

over the following months it has gradually reached the stage it is at present - I'm concerned it will spread across the entire face.

Looks terrible and I'm at a loss what is causing it - the main oven we have is the same series Bosch oven with exactly the same display and it's fine.

If buying a Bosch wall oven be sure to buy the self cleaning option – My oven turns out as new every time I clean it. Preparation time before using the function is minimal ( you just need to remove all internal racks) and the results are outstanding. I'm so glad I didn't listen to the salesman who attempted to talk me out of buying the self cleaning option  Show details ·  1

Broken from day 1 – Error code E6200 from initial start up. Bosch refuse to replace as it is a "repairable" problem. Now have to wait for the parts to arrive from overseas. Ridiculous for a brand new appliance. Terrible customer service, not helpful at all. I didn't buy a brand new product for it to be faulty and have its parts replaced. LEMON  Show details

I would give 5 starts if the cooling fan and the beeps were quieter! – It's so good having a single unit doing both microwave oven and anything that a normal electric oven does while saving cabinet space. However the fan is noisy and annoying, I bought BOSCH ovens exactly for quietness but the combination oven has something poorly engineered on it. I also have a Serie 8 HBG633BS1A Built-in Oven and you can't barely… Read more

hear the fan in any condition even under high temperatures - and this is my reference, both ovens are "Series 8" so you expect both having similar performance, specially the specs are nearly identical between both ovens.

We also found the beeps at the end of heating cycle too loud. It beeps 5 times LOUD. There are so many different options at the LCD menu, would be great to have the ability to reduce/increase the beep volume.

The drying fan also stays on too long after using the microwave, simply a waste of energy. If you heat milk for example for 30 seconds it drying fan stays on for minutes...No idea why, if there is no steam why waste energy with that silly fan? There is a option to reduce the "drying time" but it is not enough.

The positive side is, the normal electric oven is great (apart from the noisy fan!) it cooks evenly and the temperature control is also very good.

If I would recommend it? Hummm maybe not. BOSCH should release a firmware update and fix these little issues first. I'd look for a different brand until they give us the option to adjust what really matters.

The Best – We have this microwave oven combination. Which as the name suggests is a microwave and an oven. We have it as well as the Bosch 60cm pyrolytic wall oven rather than a double oven. Cooks well, both microwave and oven features work well. Easy to use and and navigate the features. It is the most frequently used appliance in our kitchen. Looks great… Read more ·  1

perfect! – This microwave oven is the best! it is best of both worlds and stacks so nicely on top of the Bosch oven when putting together. i love that you can use it as a warmer or oven or microwave, it has so much more settings than your everyday microwave and does a nicer defrost without cooking something on the outside and freezing in the middle!  Show details ·  1
