What you read online about control panel is completely correct - easy to fail & extremely expensive to repair. This is a $4000 Made in Germany oven that did not last for 3 years and the replacement panel itself is $1600. Update: was asked to contact customer service and was offered the exact same solution. I questioned why ask me to call when the solution is exactly the same, the gentleman on the phone got annoyed and started being unprofessional, so I asked to speak to the supervisor - which led to a phone hang up after being placed on hold.
I understand the product is out of warranty and Bosch has no obligation to offer a replacement. However, given the poor customer service, the highly marked-up repair costs, and how frequently this product fails, I am questioning my brand loyalty. I will definitely avoid purchasing Bosch products from now on.
Seems control panel failure is common – Oven purchased 14/09/2020 for $3640. However, like many others, the touch panel started to fail on one side. I have previously connected it with the Bosch Home App (only available in the US App Store) and so was still able to use it. However, now more areas of the touch panel are not responding. I have baulked at calling service/repair as I hear repair costs of $900+. Seems like a systemic problem. I wouldn't recommend purchasing a Serie 8 Bosch oven until this issue is fixed.
