ZERO STARS. This is a terrible product. My cat started running around the house, yowling, confused and distressed a few minutes after it was applied. He had dilated pupils and seemed to not recognize us. After quickly googling and seeing the US FDA warnings about it causing neurological issues, we cornered and caught him and washed off as much as… Read more
we could. 30 minutes later he has calmed a little bit is still freaked out. I cannot believe that this product can be sold over the counter as a typical worming product, and even promoted as a good option for 3-monthly treatment. AVOID.
Totally ineffective – Correct Application on 06 12 24. Vet check on 14.12.24. No improvement. Many happy fleas. If fleas are now resistant, new formula required. This is not a premium product. I will not buy again.
Im scared my cat is going to die – We had a verry bad experience. After putting the Bravecto on my cats they started getting a severe allergic reaction. My cats started sneezing and struggled to breathe. Its 3 days after we applied it and now my cat cant eat and is verry weak.. i went to the vet to get cortisone to help my cat breath. I hate seeing my cats in so much discomfort . Im scared my cat is going to die

Bravecto Plus for cats kills ticks after 48-72hrs of feeding and inserting poison on a cat. Tick can kill within 8hrs – Bravecto Plus spot-on is advertised as a flea and tick repellent. Everyone be aware as this product does not deter paralysis ticks from attaching and feeding on a cat. This product kills ticks within forty-eight to seventy-two hours after the tick is attached and feeding. This is way too late. My cat died after only 24hrs after a tick/s attached.… Read more
Female paralysis ticks are way more poisonous, and as she was tiny, and had two or more paralysis ticks, her little body could not fight the poison, she needed to be euthanised. The Vet could not save her. I believed, that this product repelled paralysis ticks. I have attached some information I would like you to read. You advertise your product as Tick Prevention, this is false advertising. I truly believed that this product prevented ticks from attaching to a host. This product is advertised as a prevention and protection of ticks on cats.

DO NOT USE THIS PRODUCT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES – Bravecto Plus Spot On for Cats Medium (2.8 - 6.25kg) If I could give a rating of ZERO stars I would. Please do NOT ever use this product!!! The first dose was given by my vets when I took my cat in for a checkup as she had been ripping out her fur. My cat was 12 years old at the time. The vets found a flea and said she had a flea allergy which a… Read more
blood test confirmed. I continued to give her this product. By the 3rd dose she was annoyed by her left ear scratching at it as if there was something in it and ended up with a left head tilt. She also started to have balance issues leaning to the left side, walking as if drunk (ataxia). By the 4th dose she was hardly eating and hiding a lot. Balance issues became way worse. She was not herself, she was irritable. We were watching her slowly change, she was suffering, she was struggling and we couldn't make her better as the damage had already been done and was continuing to harm her. It was only during this time I finally realised what was happening and that it was related to the Bravecto Plus we had been giving her. Long story short my cat ended up severely dehydrated requiring admission to the vets with iv fluids & antibiotics and tube feeding (this was 3+ months after 4th dose). Eventually she needed to be euthanased (4 months after 4th dose). She had elevated liver enzymes, enlarged liver and enlarged heart. She was only 13 years old. We tried so hard to save her spending $3000 at the vets. Unfortunately the toxic ill effects from using this product with NO ANTIDOTE nothing could be done. Please please please RESEARCH this product before using it. Don't just accept that it's OK because your vets are recommending it and using it. IT KILLS sometimes quickly and sometimes painfully slowly. Thousands of pets have died, or had seizures, or had to be euthanased. Thousands of pets world-wide. Don't let your pet be one of them.
Bravecto caused a chemical burn on ours cats skin – We used bravecto following the advice of the vet to treat fleas and ticks. Before we used advocate. After applying bravecto our cat stopped eating and drinking water. Next day I noticed red spots, it turned to be a chemical burn very big in size. Vet made some that meant and prescribed antibiotics and anti inflammatory drops. Bravecto is a very aggressive chemical, don’t use it on your pets if you want them to be healthy and happy! Bravecto is poisonous to my cat – During annual check-up visit 3 weeks ago, Vet applied Bravecto Spot On to my 12-years old cat Luna. Within 24 hours, Luna started diarrhea and vomiting, which lasted for 2 days. She also developed symptoms of cystitis on the second day following Bravecto application. My poor Luna lost appetite and didn't have any food and drink for nearly 3 days.… Read more
Luna was then hospitalised for IV drip to save her life. She has improved since, but still vomits and displays symptoms of cystitis every 3 or 4 days. Luna entered my life when she was 8 weeks old, and has always been healthy and fit until application of Bravecto 3 weeks ago! After research and read product reviews, I will never ever use Bravecto again!

Best Flea & Tic Treatment – I use Bravecto Spot On for both my cats, I have been using it for a couple of years since one of my cats got a tic & cost over $1000 at the vet. Neither of my cats has had an adverse reaction & have been flea & tic free. Show details
Killed my cats fleas with no side effects – I have a small black cat, about 10lbs. Bravecto has been effective in both killing active fleas and as a preventative. While her neck seems to itch for a day or 2 after application, she is still happy. playful and eating well. Show details
At last a happy moggy – Our mostly inside she puss reacted badly to our move from inland regional NSW to the mid north coast 9 years ago. We had her tested for flea and food allergies with fleas seeming to be the main cause of her over grooming to the point of raw flesh and infection. Especially on her tummy and inside legs. We tried alternate diet, alternative skin… Read more
treatments (neem oil) and of course every tick and flea medication on the market. Cortisone injections were the only thing that settled her down and allowed healing and regrowth. Comfortis tablets did help but were not always easy to get inside her and she was often lethargic for a day after treatment. We still had to apply cortisone cream for occasional outbursts. She got a tick 3 years ago and we were told Frontline spray was the only medication which would keep cats safe. After 100s of $ and a lot of Frontline applied everywhere but where it should be we were finally told about Bravecto Spot On for cats. She has not looked back as far as allergy is concerned but has also not had another tick to really check it's effectiveness in that area. Easy to apply, no observable side effects and at least 2 months without any flare ups during the warm humid summer months. She is now around 16 years old and does not venture outside as much as previously, which is probably a contributing factor also.

Poison - Should be a Class Action – Zero. BRAVECTO Plus is POISON. After just one dose, my 11y/o (with stable Stage 2 CKD) male began showing strange symptoms. He was fatigued, depressed and lost strength in his hind legs. His inappetitance increased. Vets treated him for his symptoms. He slowly gained use of his hind legs after 2 months, but had irreparable muscle wastage and his… Read more
kidneys were further damaged. He became eneamic and rapidly progressed to Stage 4 CKD and was euthanized a month ago. A second of my male cats has lost weight and just been diagnosed with Bronchitis & Kidney disease. A third male has Gastrointestinal issues, has lost weight and vomits regularly. A fourth male has hair loss. Needless to say I'm gutted by this product. The pain, suffering and heartbreak it has caused is immeasurable. DO NOT TRUST manufacturers of pet products. ALWAYS READ REVIEWS FIRST. This is the first time I've used a product because the vets promote it and I trusted them .... I learnt the hard way.
Horrible – This is a bit of a different review. I accidentally got a good bit on my hand when going to apply it to my cat. I tried to wash it off with soap and water but it had a really sticky film to it. I woke up the next morning and vomited like I never have. Of course I can’t be certain that it was the medicine but I don’t see what else it could have been Show details
Warning Heavy chemical, bad reaction – I applied Bravecto for the first time to both my cats, I washed it away asap as they were feeling uncomfortable after a couple of hours. It felt like heavy duty glue on my skin, I can't immagine the feeling on their fur! The following day from being active and playful cats, they were laying on the floor, and barely moving around the house. They… Read more
lost appetite (they would fly at the sound of the pantry door opening), they have diarrhoea (dry food based diet). Fleas are all dead, but I am now monitoring my cats as I am concerned of more bad consequences (read the reviews, some cat fell ill). In conclusion I DO NOT RECOMMEND this product, as is not worth sacrificing your pet's health for some fleas. I will look to some less chemical solution.

Immediate deterioration – My 13 year old cat underwent treatment for UTI and teeth removed, and was recovering nicely when I foolishly decided to show "extra love" by giving her a bravecto treatment. been detrimentally upset by bravecto. I said, why don't you google it and see how many thousands of cat owners are trying to stop the product and their response was, oh, those cats are already dying. I have no idea how vets can sleep at night sometimes.
Zero stars – One does of bravecto and woke up to my 4 year old cat having neurological problems Dilated pupils ,tremors ,falling over her feet , Racing heartbeat and very distressed . $2000 of vet bills . They shaved of all The fur and washed the skin . Spent 3 days in hospital on fluids and meds . Poison ! Endorsed by vets . No thanks Show details
Another case of chemical burn – I applied the first dose to my 2 cats and noticed a few days later what I thought was an altercation injury on both of them (in the same spot which I thought was odd). Three months later applied it again and have seen the same reaction. Having read the other reviews I now know it is a chemical burn. I won't be using this again. Show details
Would never use again – Caused my 1 year old ragdoll to have uncontrollable seizures after never having issues before. After a trip to the vets I was shocked to learn the below. No warning on the labelling. Will not be touching again, very upset and disappointed.
The worst product ever!!!!! – Stay away from this product! It will harm your cat. Rather use Frontline. I used it on my cat. In two days her personality changed and three weeks later she died. Was this product created to assist or for profit? I will never forgive the creators of this product. My child died...... Do you understand grief and loss??? Probably not. Show details
Beware, don't use – On vets recommendation I decided to use this product. My cat has been healthy up until one day after using this product he dropped. Became lethargic and flat looking, behaviour completely changed. Wouldn't eat or drink and started to hide, assuming I had poisoned him unintentionally. We quickly wiped him down, but he did not improve and I took… Read more
him to vets. He had a blocked bladder and they said that is why he is sick, and not related to treatment. Probably stress has caused the blocked bladder, so he has just spent 5 days at the vets and over the weekend came home. He did improve with eating and doing number 2's but was incontinent. We were to call vets on Monday and described symptoms and it was decided he needed to go in for check up, he has blocked bladder again and is being kept in. At this stage I am 98% sure this product has caused my cat to become this unwell. Cat was fine then cat had Bravecto treatment then cat very unwell. I don't know if we are going to have a happy ending yet. So please do not use this product. Update 05/03/2024 After 3 blocked bladders we had to decide on PU surgery to save our cat. This is a major operation and the recovery is not for the faint hearted. Very messy and requires alot of care. Then we had infections after infections, medications after medications. Ultra sound to check bladder and finally took a culture to check what bacteria we were dealing with. Finally on right medication but then couldn't get Flynn to take enough due to foul taste and would froth at mouth. Changed to tablet form and are now on 2nd round of antibiotics. We are finally seeing after over 4 and a half months our cat returning to his old self. It has been epic and messy ( incontinence, peeing in strange places, finally settling down) I would not wish any pet owner to have to go through what my husband and I have just been through. Expense wise over $8000, we were in so deep we decided to continue to save his life. But completely understand that some people would not have been able to afford this and would have had to make a very hard decision. If your reading this I hope it was before you used the product and not after. Best wishes. Update we have lost the battle 22/05/2024 our poor cat had to be put down. After 7 months of continuing bacterial infection and bladder issues. We had a specialist ultrasound done because we were at our wits end. We discovered chronic change and not concentrating urine in the kidneys, unusual bacteria, recurring UTI and bladder not emptying properly in the bladder. Surgery site unusual and not able to pass u- cath and a thickening mass around urethra.(which possibly might have been cancerous?). OMG our cat was rotting from the inside. Please do not risk using this product. RIP Mr Flynn you were the best battler I have ever seen and we are so sad because all this heart ache could have been avoided and all the pain and suffering you went through was epic. Bravecto shame on you!!!!

I won’t be using again – Shortly after I used this product my cat developed a skin lesion. The vet thought it was herpes. I used it a second time and shortly afterwards a similar lesion occurred in the exact spot the product was applied. Bravecto is dangerous – My cat is 15. She became unwell suddenly around 10 months ago, weight loss, lethargic, irritable. Heath check just prior showed in perfect health... 4.8kg. demeanor. $2500 on vet bill to assess problem. They can't pinpoint anything. I unwittingly gave another dose 3 weeks ago. She is so poorly. Only twigged when friend put Bravecto on her cat, who immediately foamed from the mouth and lost fur from back of neck. My cat's health issues only started with Bravecto. I'm praying I don't lose her to this toxic substance!!! Update-my cat is 16 and a half now. She is now permanently on steroids plus 2 homeopathics for cats. She has not regained the weight she lost from Bravecto, but Vet said there is no sign of the ‘query kidney disease’, or ‘query cancer of her digestive system’ that she was confident caused her sudden health decline following Bravecto application. My cat is also an indoor cat that does not need flea treatments, so have not used any product since…too frightened. The Vets won’t admit or acknowledge the dangers of Bravecto. DO NOT USE.

Won't use again – I applied Bravecto whilst my greedy cat was eating breakfast and he immediately stopped eating and began behaving very differently. when he returned he had a large bald patch between the shoulders and seemed out of sorts for the next 2 weeks. Should not be allowed to sell this product – Like many others here, my cat was sick from this product. I applied a 1/8 amount of the product as it's very strong, however within 6 hours my cat was losing clumps of hair and bald patches appearing on her neck. A few hours after that at about 4am, I woke up to her limping and tripping over her back legs and falling over into walls. I took her to… Read more
the emergency vet just in case she would deteriorate further. Luckily as it was such a small amount, after washing it off her, she looks to be on the mend today. Had I applied more of this I think it would be a similar dire situation to a lot of other reviews on this page. Never touching this again and reporting this company. Please be warned, these reviews are no exaggeration.
Hair loss and suspect triggered other health issues – Used product as directed and in the days that followed my cat showed signs of skin irritation and was pulling out his hair. Following on from this his health has deteriorated - run down, dehydrated, cat flu symptoms and and showing signs of kidney disease. Vet advised me to use revolutionPlus instead - I'll never use Bravecto on a pet again
Thought our cat was dying after applying it – A few seconds after application, our cat started producing large amounts of froth from her mouth. She completely freaked out, froth kept on coming out in large amount we thought she was dying. Will never buy this or any other treatments again. It wasn't even listed as a side effect. Treatment was applied as directed for correct weight. Show details

Please Don't Use This Product – Immediately after administering this product my beautiful girl had a terrible fit. I removed the product - and believed I had gotten all of it off. Don't use it. are sores from him scratching so much. Prior to this he was a happy and healthy cat who has never had a reaction to anything even this exact Bravecto. AVOID this product. I applied this product a fortnight ago and after reading reviews that their cat dropped dead after 2-4 weeks is terrifying me what the future may bring. Avoid unless you want to burn your cats skin to the point of sores and baldness. Pic attached
2 ulcer like burns on the application site – Applied Bravecto spot on our 2 cats weighing 4kg, and 5.1kg. The 4kg cat was immediately in distress running around the house and not settling. Flea treatment at what cost? – Approximately 3 weeks ago we purchased Bravecto for our cat as he had an infestation of fleas after we had a friend's dog stay with us for a couple of weeks. product was applied as directed in the instructions, although it is worth noting opening the tube was a cumbersone task. Our boy is not exactly the most obliging of cats (are any cats obliging?) so some resistence to us applying the product was expected, especially as he'd had a bath before we went out to purchase a flea treatment and we were the worst humans to have ever existed on earth. Immediately after applying Bravecto he was very vocal, which was unexpected as he is not usually vocal at all. We didn't think too much of it and took it as him communicating his elevated distain to our existence and that we had bathed AND given him a flea treatment - horrible humans we are.
Over the following week we found him in some uncommon spots around the house, such as laying on the bathroom floor, a room he's not usually fond of (that's where the cat bathing happens). There was nausea and vomiting, and OMG! The smell of his poo! Cat faeces is not exactly potpourri but this was the most offensive and vulgar of odours I've ever smelt and I work part-time as a forensic crime scene cleaner! There was also frantic and persistent scratching and a deeper pitched, almost baritone, meow than we had ever heard from him before. It was primal.
For a week things seemed to be improving. He was social, eating, not making hell-hound noises, and had stopped sleeping on the tiled floor of the bathroom.
Over the past week his appetite has decreased to where he is now hardly eating at all and as a result he has lost a lot of weight and is looking disheveled. He's also a bit wobbly in his walk. We have resorted to new flavours of his normal brand of cat biscuits, new brands of cat biscuits, new varieties of cat foods (such as raw cat mince and sachets of cat food) and, as of today, preparing fresh food for him. There is an assortment of foods which I've purchased for him today that are in the fridge, including raw chicken breast, raw chicken hearts, raw chicken livers and tinned tuna. Currently there are three food bowls with three different foods on the kitchen floor and he's turned his nose up at all of them.
Our cat has had a significant change in mood/personality, lethargy, nausea, vomiting, and appetite and weight loss since the Bravecto treatment. The only thing that has changed in our cat's life and environment is the Bravecto flea treatment. Therefore I believe there is, on the balance of probability, every chance a causal link exists between our cat's presentation and the Bravecto treatment. I will be returning to Pet-O to advise them of our experience with Bravecto and to see if I can get proof-of-purchase so that I can upload it to this review.
After reading all the www.productreview.com.au reviews with fatal consequences and information on www.isbravectosafe.com I have become even more concerned for him and will get our boy to a vet as soon as possible. Being Easter weekend that is proving to be a challenge, but one we are willing to navigate for our beautiful boy. For now I will mark the adverse reaction as 'short-term illness' but will update should things change.
We will be telling every pet owner we know about our experience with Bravecto and will not be using Bravecto ever again. The risks are too high.
*** Update 12.04.2023 *** We had to euthanise our beautiful boy yesterday (11.04.2023) due to organ failure. This is a horrible experience for us and I really wish we had done more research on this poison beforehand.
