My dog has been on Bravecto Chews for 10 years. These chews are half the size of the ones I got from the vet. They work the same. I can't say for sure but I believe that these don't have stuff in it that is not really needed. My vet is offering a once a year shot. I don't trust it. If it's not broke don't fix it. You just have to decide for… Read more
yourself what is best for your pet. You are with it every day. The vet sees them once a year if they don't get sick. Who knows them best?
Beware!!! Causes seizures – Gave our 2 yr old Boston Terrier a Bravecto chew for fleas and ticks. . A couple months later he started having seizures. Vet agreed it was probably the Bravecto that caused him to start seizing. He has had multiple seizures since then and it has cost us thousands of dollars in vet trips/medications/tests since then. If you love your dog please DO NOT give them Bravecto!!! Show details
Struggle to give – We have a Pembroke Welch Corgi. Breveto does work for her. But we have a chop it to powder and mix it with a bit of our food. This is not an easy task because the tablets are a gummy texture. In this day and time the manufacturer should be able to improve the taste. Show details

Excellent product. Using for 5+ years on my two Border Collies – Both dogs no issue eating the tablet. No side effect. Never ever had fleas or ticks and frequently take dogs out bush camping and to beach. Been using since puppies, 5+ years. Show details
For fleas and ticks – Before I knew of all this :My dog since he was 6 months old to 4 years old has been taking bravecto, not one problem. I read the reviews and didn’t give it to him (One year ,last year) , frightened because my dog is my best friend, and was scared after reading all the bad. As spring and summer are nearing my dog has been getting flea bites and… Read more
itching way more I noticed. He is super sensitive to a single flea bite and It makes him sick and lethargic to get them, Almost like a allergic reaction to fleas. Poor thing. he’s a house dog. Decided to start bravecto again since no problems ever. I don’t see any issues as I didn’t in the past either. I feel so bad so many dogs were affected negatively. It benefits my dog . IT works . he gets absolutely no fleas and has never had a tick in his life!!! I don’t see him sick at all , no seizures, not breathing heavy. I really took a good look at him this time. He’s in bed w me right now perfect. I think dogs like humans get different reactions to different medications. I wonder what the true statistics are in percentage of dogs being allergic to this medication . I’m so sorry for the tragedy as I would be so heartbroken. Not sure why my dog does so well with this medication and other dogs do not
Excellent Stuff. recommended – My dog has a bad case of the fleas, rash on it stomach and losing hair from her tail. No other flea control worked. So my vet recommended bravecto. i used it and within 24 hrs the fleas were gone, after a few days the rash was clearing up and hair was starting to grow back. ive been using this tablet for my dog for 2 years now. Best thing ever. my dog is a pure breed jack russell. Show details

** WARNING ** – My dog started grand mal seizing days after having Bravecto from the vets! Thousands of pounds later and still costing us as she is now on epilepsy meds every 12 hours for life. Wish I had researched Bravecto before giving it to her as so many other dogs have had the same reaction. NOT WORTH THE RISK!!! Show details
Risk of seizures – Our 7 year old dog was healthy. Two days after taking Bravecto she started with mild seizures. A few weeks later she had cluster seizures that were very severe. She lost control of her legs and bowels. She is now on epilepsy medicine to try to reduce her episodes which she’ll need to take every 8 hrs for the rest of her life. I would not risk the… Read more

IT DOESN'T WORK. my dog was infested a week after giving it to him – I gave my dog Bravecto chew he wouldnt eat it, I went back to vet and got the topical treatment and put it on him. He was scratching a week later, I groomed him and fleas were burrowing into his fur and jumping off. I have a cat who is on advantage, she did not have any. They were all on my dog. I waited a bit longer to see if they would die, my… Read more
mistake. He ended up getting a hot spot, and so the next day I went out and bought Hartz Ultra Guard pro, the fleas were gone..boom gone. I told my vet, he replied stating I didn't apply the product correctly??? Sorry but this is not my first RODEO. Do not use Bravecto,,"Bravecto is a controversial prescription medication in the pet world. Vets recommend it, it's FDA-approved, and it helps eradicate ticks and fleas in dogs and cats. However, many pet parents claim it causes seizures in their dogs and has even caused some to die."

Do not use this poison – I gave this stuff to several of my dogs and they all ended up in big trouble. Killed one them and I have a report that proves it. Don't give your animals this stuff. Show details
Killed my dog – Do not give to your animals. We gave the chewable to our 10 year old healthy mixed breed dog on a Tuesday. He started to decline Thursday. Took him to the vet Friday who did not say one thing about how it could be bravecto. They drugged him up and did an xray. Said it was gas and sent us home. Saturday night he passed away. I do not recommend at all. Would give 0 stars if I could Show details
Terrible – I went to vet yesterday for this Bravecto garbage My dog was okay before I used this now he’s vomiting and has diarrhoea. And unwell. And sleeping. I will never use this product again. It should be removed from sale permanently.I wouldn’t even rate this if I didn’t have to Show details

Tastes awful – My complaint is that my dog and my dad's dog dislike the crappie taste of the pill. It's a chore to get it into them because they can smell it no matter how much you hide it in food. Could you not make it taste better?? Thanks Show details

Bravecto does not work!! – I gave my 3 dogs each a Bravecto ($177) thinking it was a better value than the once a month (not Bravecto) and what a waste of money!!! 3 weeks later and it has already worn off. Never again. Going back to what they were on previously. Show details
Death meds – Two outside dogs were given this medication at the same time. My three year old super healthy and vibrant Great Pyrenees beautiful white girl became paralyzed one day after she received this medication, and she stopped eating and drinking. medication. They kept her on an IV for 48 hours, and she slowly came around. It was almost a month before she seemed normal again. My 13 year old super healthy yellow lab golden retriever lady, smartest dog I've ever known on this earth, had a different reaction. She slowly declined, became depressed, sluggish, her eyes were so sad, and she stopped eating and drinking. She wouldn't even touch a juicy raw steak!!!! The vet could not help her, and they said her liver was not functioning. We thought she was just old, and so they recommended euthanasia to ease her pain, which we sadly did. We requested an autopsy, as I began to suspect Bravecto as being the culprit. These dogs had been to the vet regularly throughout their lives, always healthy, never any issues. And they were both 100% healthy up until they were given Bravecto. The autopsy revealed that she was indeed in superb health, especially for her age, and the only issue was with her liver. And it was determined that the problem was not ongoing, but a recent and sudden issue. I am certain I lost my best friend because of Bravecto! DO NOT GIVE THIS TO YOUR PETS IF YOU LOVE THEM!!!!! Also, my Great Pyrenees had a few rough days around the 30 day mark, some of the same symptoms but not as extreme, and we were worried it was going to end bad for her too. But she came around after a few days of keeping her hydrated and well fed, lots of massages and hugs. I know this medication is a time-release medication, so it only makes sense that it affected her again. I hope the third time around does not affect her so drastically. Perhaps her body will have built up some immunity. I incurred over $1000 in vet bills because of Bravecto and lost my best friend of 13 years and almost lost my other best friend!!!!!
Bravecto killed my Beautiful dog! – She startede having seizures shortly after I gave her Bravecto. We tried to get her on some meds but She became so ill that we couldn’t save her. Please don’t give this to your pets Show details
BEWARE - SEIZURES – Our dog began having grand seizures after taking this medicine. Had to be put on phenobarbital to control them. We later found right on the package - this is the most common side effect. Our dog is 15 years old and had been on frontline his entire life without any problems. We are not working on weening him off the phenobarbital. BEWARE!! I cannot believe they are allowing this to be sold. Show details

Terrible chew – My dog never throws up. I gave bravecto to him and he has been throwing up 7 times now since 2 wks ago. I can't wait till it's out of his system. I pray he doesn't die. I feel so bad I changed from advantix2. I'm going back to that. Show details
Horrible! – My lab/pit mix used the 3 month chewable. After taking the chewable in the afternoon, he became sick overnight. It caused ses Diarrhea and Then vomiting. Obviously sick from the medication and lasting days.
B e w a r e o f b r a v e c t o – I am sharing my recent experience with Bravecto in the hope that other pet owners make a more informed decision before using this product. After years of using a topical tick and flea treatment I made the almost fatal decision of giving my 12 year old dog the Bravecto 3 month chewable tick and flea treatment for dogs. It was the third time I had… Read more
given her the treatment and looking back I think that the adverse reactions started after the first treatment. I noticed that her back legs would shake uncontrollably however at the time I did not make the connection and just assumed that it was due to her ageing.
I continued with the use of Bravecto and unfortunately 2 weeks ago I gave her another 3 month chew with devastating affects. Within 6 hours of her taking the Bravecto she had a seizure that was so intense that I am shocked but so grateful she survived. She went on to have another 2 seizures in the next 48 hours.
I immediately sought treatment through my local vet who told me that this could be a side effect to the Bravecto and that it may not be suitable for some animals especially of her age. I also attended a 24 hour veterinary hospital and was told the same thing by the vet that treated her.
She is now on anti-seizure medication and will continue to be monitored closely for further adverse reactions as the product works its way out of her system.
On reporting our case to Bravecto they advised that they do clearly state that seizures can be a side effect of their product (This is in the fine print on the inside of the box). I do feel that they have tended to focus on other health reasons that may have caused the seizures however prior to the use of Bravecto my pet has never had any serious health issues and more importantly has regular health checks and excellent care from our local vet.
I am devastated that I trusted this product and would never ever use BRAVECTO AGAIN in my opinion it is not safe.

Shame on this company and shame on the vets absolute vile people!
This product killed my best friend – My Aussie bulldog was a fit healthy pup. After her 1st dose of bravecto at 6mths, she became very Ill after months in and out of vet clinics with no one knowing what it was even with lots of tests and a op to see if some thing was a miss and it wasnt! She slowly got better. Her second dose has been the killer! She seemed fine for first week maybe… Read more
bit longer as she was at my mums. Then she became very very Ill sh seemed off so was taken to the vets where age started fitting and would not stop. . They put her out to it and kept bringing her back out of it to see her reaction over a period of a week. When the fitting had stopped she was deaf blind and paralysed all the vet could say was it was a neurotoxin she had ingested. The only nuerotixic substance she had was bravecto.. I have spent hear aching hours since researching bravecto and what it does. There is no warnings you don't get told that this could happen. She was only 12mths old nearly to the day we spent over $9000.00 in that 12mths. We still have this last vet bill to pay I almost die every time the envelope turn up in the post. My autistic son and I am so heart broken, I nursed her when she was sick I would get up every 2 hours to clean her and make sure she was OK. I want bravecto to be held accountable for what they have done, they know that there product can make this happens they need to remove the products from the shelf. Both times she had the chews.
Bad reaction to chew – After getting my dog to take the chew he has been licking his rear and hassling and pacing all night. My other dog, a Jack Russel, would not take the chew at all. I will never give this medicine again. This medicine costs over $100. Show details
Will not Chew or Swallaw – Unsuccessful in getting dog to chew and swallow Bravecto. Will wrap a treat around it, and she will isolate and spit it out. My vet charges $55 per 3 month dose. I tried unsuccessfully and had to discard. My dog has no problem with Heartgard and eats it like a treat. Will look for a better alternative for flea and tick prevention. Show details
Causes Seizures – After giving my 15 year old dog a 3 month Braveo chewable for fleas and ticks she was unwell for a while and later started having seizures. I took her to an emergency vet where they did tests, diagnosed her with a brain tumour and put her on seizure meds. 6 months and over $3,000 later, while I'm estatic she doesn't have a brain tumour, I wouldn't recommend this product to any one.
