Breville Handy Hot Plate BHP150 / BHP250 Questions & Answers
VerifiedI need the breville hot plate 250 please where can I get it?
I bought it last year not even 1 year it lasted very bad experience
Mine triggered the fuse. One of the hotplates showed a small crack on the surface and I guess a wire must be touching the housing. Very unsafe product.
Thought it would last more as it says in the brand. Even I had the same experience.
I bought an Award double hot plate 14 months ago, gets daily use, still goes well
Hi
I also have this breville bhp 250 and is always making some kind of clicking like noises every time i use it from start till finish. Just wondering whether this is normal or not?
Thanks
What is the hottest one plate only reaches on the BHP250?
It heated up to full temp then went off and didn't restart so food went cold Returned it and got a refund, it also has no locking on the dials making it a dangerous cooking item dials can be moved into on position without realising
Look for a better unit is my advice
What Disgruntled Purchaser said. The element gets hot enough (just) to cook a steak then turns off and your steak stews.
Breville double hot plate. Why is it making popping noises.....it sounds like an electrical issue and I'm scared to even use it.....we just got this like 3 months ago..we offer use a variety of heat setting including the highest one more often than not...did we break it?
The popping sounds may be as simple as water between the element and the pot. Since it is only three moths old you could take it back and have it checked under warranty.
suggest you stop using it and return it fir s refund I believe these hotplates are a real safety issue

I've had a Breville BHP250 for about two weeks, its been used about 4 times. On the very first use, rust spots appeared around the hot plate element immediately as soon as heat was applied, these worsened slightly on the second use, they don't seem to be getting much worse, but it looks awful considering its pretty much brand new, and cannot be removed with stainless steel wipes. Is this a standard product fault or is it just this particular unit?
Yes I to have that on mine and I use it 2 times a week. It is a bummer but its the only stove I have and it still works well.
The plate itself is not stainless steel, so those wipes won't work. I don't think anything does. Mine is discolored a bit but still fine 4 years later.
Thanks guys - it's not the plate itself but the stainless steel immediately surrounding the plate, not sure whether it's a batch fault but might give Breville a call just in case.
