Love this toaster, ended up buying the exact same one as a gift, and they love it too! Such a lovely looking appliance.
Purchased in at David Jones for $45.
- Even Toasting: Yes
BEST TOASTER WE HAVE EVER OWNED – We bought this toaster 10 or more years ago, and I remember reviewing it after a few months, saying that with its cool features, it did everything except hang my washing out! Well, after all these years, it is still going (which is a miracle for any toaster) and has served us well until the past year or 2. Finally, after all these years has turned into that of a cheap toaster in cooking unevenly and burning bread on it's lowest setting, BUT this is only after approx.10 years! It has (until the past year) been the best toaster we had ever owned. It has been dependable in cooking toast to perfection! I have found that my frozen gluten-free bread requires a higher setting which means it takes longer, and if I forget (which is most of the time) to increase the setting bar (which I might add is also cool as it lights up so you don't have to get down to look at it), then I have to put the bread down 3 times to toast lightly. But that's my fault for forgetting to change it. People have commented on its cool design for years, and often when guests are staying, they call me over to ask how to get their toast down, which is a logical question because there is no lever, but has made me laugh every time! It looks great, toasts great...what more can I say? We didn't want to spend that much money this time on a new toaster as last time we had a gift voucher that paid for most of the cost, but seriously, after looking at reviews today, cheaper ones sound useless and I don't know if it's worth trialling a cheaper one that won't last as long as this one has. I guess it comes down to 'You get what you pay for', which I hate because we have proven that saying wrong so many times over the years, (and so often it's what richer people say to justify their outrageous spending) but in this case I think it rings true! Happy toaster hunting, but I seriously recommend considering this one! (Maybe Breville will give me a gift voucher so I can buy the same one for writing a positive review ha ha...(hint hint)!!! Pros: See above! One thing not mentioned is its white metallic paint looked so impressive (until the SS burnt)
One con: As you can see, it burnt in the centre like most do on the stainless steel which has detracted from its looks for years. This has been uncleanable.
DIDN'T LAST LONG FOR $159.00!! – DIDN'T LAST LONG FOR THE PRICE!!!!! Purchased this toaster in August 2021. I had had the same toaster for years and years and loved it, so got another. It only lasted for just over 2 years! You don't expect it to break down in that short time, as I paid $159.00 for it. I loved that toaster! You should be able to expect it to work longer than that! It gave out white sparks the other morning instead of toast!! I purchase another one but not that model as I didn't want to pay another $179.00 at Good Guys for the same model so opted for the cheaper one. Not the same though, that toaster that blew up was a beauty, as was the one before it. Very disappointed. Too much money to pay for that little time. I have a copy of the invoice.
