Breville the Soft Top

Great kettle, fast and not noisy – I was looking to replace my Russell Hobbs stainless steel kettle, which boiled okay but drowned out the radio because it was soo loud. The Breville kettle is a revelation as I can now hear the radio over the kettle boiling. It boils water quicker as well. The pop-open lid is easy to use and refill the kettle. It is nice looking and I am happy with my purchase so far. I got mine as a return at Amazon for cheaper than usual. Normally $79.

Nice functioning kettle, noisy though – Happy with the look of this kettle and its function generally. If you want a quiet kettle, you may be able to find a quieter one. It is quite noisy but has a little bell alert once finishes its boil. There is a handy glass view for water level which is easy to read. The kettle opens by a handy push of a button which works well. This kettle replaced a kitchen aid one where the lid button broke and got jammed after two weeks of buying.... I purchased a white kettle and it is easier to keep clean than a stainless steel one. Boils water well, but giving it 4 stars as it is noisy.

Don’t waste your Money – Very poorly made product. Within the first few weeks of use the indicator bell stopped working and the button to open the lid also stopped working, so I had to fill up the kettle from the small spout opening. Within 16 months it stopped working! How infuriating as the 12 month warranty only expired 4 months earlier! I contacted Breville and all they could offer was a discount on another kettle, not a replacement. Will be going back to purchasing Russell Hobbs appliances as in the past they have not disappointed with quality and also offer 2 year warranty.

Best Kettle – Of all the kettles I've had over the last few years, this one has got to be the best. It's not loud, boils quick and looks great. One of the best kettle purchases in a while but very pleased with this one.

Best kettle we have ever had – We purposely went looking for a red kettle for various reasons. The BKE620R was smart looking, had a good feel and it carried the Breville name and we have been happy enough with other Breville products that we own. It might 'just' boil water but there are things that you notice after purchase where you think 'that was a good idea to design it like that' . Going back to the store this afternoon to buy a Breville toaster to replace the 'other brand' that we purchased at the same time (a month ago) and has been a big disappointment. Warm Cranberry colour. Very quiet !. Cord storage that actually works !. Water level window on both sides of the kettle. Easy to see 'ON' light.
